Holy spirits has got to be one of my favorite hidden gems in sac. Located right next to lowbrau in a busy area, but often overlooked. Went on a Saturday night, so we were able to get delicious options from the sushi chef, like the seafood nachos and the hand roll set. Omg the seafood nachos were AMAZING! Highly recommend! Really nicely decorated inside, perfect for date night. Only downside is that a lot of the menu wasn't available. I guess they're switching management but a new menu should be coming out soon. Food: 5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Marcels foodie score: 4.8/5

Damn do these people know how to make a good cocktail. This place was packed and reservations are recommended for each evening. My friend and I managed to snag seats at the bar. Service was a touch on the slower side due to the volume of people in the restaurant, but by no means was the wait egregious. It's a small, cozy bar with good drinks. I'll definitely be back (with reservations)

We were in the mood for some light sushi bites and a craft cocktail so decided to check out Holy Spirits based on the great reviews. This little gem hit all the marks for me! It was a little hard to find but is right next door to Lowbrau, in fact they share the same restrooms and a common middle door. The first thing I noticed was the ambiance, loved the lighting and whole vibe. We were greeted warmly by the bartender, Jacob, who was great, friendly and offered suggestions since it was our first time here. From the drink menu I chose the Jungle Bird and absolutely loved this cocktail. For bites, we chose the 3 handroll set which consisted of salmon, crab and spicy tuna. These handrolls were the bomb and made with love! My husband asked if they had a spicy mayo and the chef literally made it for us from scratch right there...the best spicy mayo I've ever had. We also had the Foil Steamed Mushrooms which was suggested by Jacob and OMG. I could go back and eat these everyday. The Beech mushrooms were cooked in a broth type of liquid composed of garlic, sake, butter and soy sauce. I think I could have just drank the stuff, it was that good. The chefs were great and so friendly as well. I will definitely return here. 10/10 recommend!

Part of me wants to keep this place a secret. It's truly a hidden gem. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with cozy dim lighting that sets the perfect mood. Their elevated sushi menu is impressive, and everything I've tried so far has been chef's kiss. Service was quick and attentive, and I was lucky enough to snag the very last order of their Secret Shrimp. Now I see why it sells out every night...unreal. Next up on my list: the seafood nachos. Can't wait to go back!

The good - they have Wednesday all-day HH = $5 hand rolls, discounted sake and $3 off signature house cocktails. The hand rolls were also pretty good - rice and fish quality were good but wish the seaweed had a bit more crisp! I had the crab, salmon, scallop and unagi hand rolls while my friend had the yellowtail, mushroom and salmon and unagi too. My personal ranking: 1) mushroom 2) scallop 3) salmon 4) unagi 5) yellowtail The thing I didn't love about the spot was that it looks like an intimate, cozy spot to speak softly and enjoy a few cocktails... but there is literally no sound dampening and when you walk in, it sounds like a loud sports bar. I couldn't hear anything and the chatter was really jarring with the atmosphere.

A hidden modern cocktail bar with great Japanese cuisine was found at Holy Spirits. Siamese next to Lobrau, the decor of Holy Spirits is modern, architecturally clean, sleek and space is small but intimate. The service was upbeat, timely and accommodating with a clear interest in making the experience a positive one. I had the Panic at the Pisco (pisco sour) and she had a Moscow Mule, but were excellent, generous and very tasty, well mixed and had quality flavors. We ordered the Albacore Carpaccio with fresh jalapeños but not to spicy and in a delicious sauce, followed by a Foiled Mushrooms that was amazing and a light but savory taste, and finally 3 hand roll sets of spicy tuna that was outstanding , and salmon which as a salmon lover was fresh but lacked no flavoring so we had to ask for some Ginger as only soy sauce and wasabi was provided, and the crab was also delicious. The wasabi was fresh, high quality and plentiful. I hope Holy Spirits attracts more customers as we were the only ones in there on a Saturday night, which was nice but hope their business grows!

Such a cute spot!! I've been wanting to try this spot for awhile. It's such a good date spot and the atmosphere is very cozy but sexy at the same time. The service was great! It was two bartenders running around helping everyone. They were so sweet so give me some edamame for free. I bought their yuzu-me-up for their cocktail and their salmon and spicy tuna hand roll. The cocktail was so good! Very sake forward which I loved. The salmon hand roll was nice light and refreshing. The spicy tuna hand roll definitely had some spice to it, which I LOVED! It all cost about $37 because I had some happy hour pricing! Definitely recommend stopping by!

The vibes were immaculate! Cozy but stylish! The secret shrimp was so good! That is a must try if you're here. We tried about 5 different hand rolls and they all were delicious. The cocktails are very unique, which is fun trying them out. The food, service, ambiance was all 10/10 ! Can't wait to be back here for another date night.

Lou is the GOAT! Came here for happy hour with my friend and was stoked to see some of my old favorite items from the Lou's sushi menu. Their HH hand rolls are a bangin deal and you can't beat $3 Sapporo either! Had four hand rolls and the seafood nachos to share and I have no complaints. I'll be back!

Adorable hidden bar with speciality cocktails and delicious fresh sushi. Have come back twice and enjoyed the hand rolls, appetizers and drinks. Love that you can see the chef working! Love the lowkey lighting and vibes.

It really doesn't feel like any of the speakeasies I have been to before as it was much brighter and more open space but enjoyed it nonetheless. Food/Drinks: I strictly stayed with Espresso Martinis but they were prepared pretty well. The flatbreads also tasted amazing! They also had a list of different holiday themed drinks for those inclined for some holiday cheer. Service: The service here was super quick. We also all tried the shooters, I had the Nesbitt, and he got the Perry. Every drink was delicious, no complaints from any of us. The lady helping us with our order was super sweet, patient, and friendly, and the guy who seated us deserves a shoutout too. There was a small mix-up, but he made it right and got us that perfect fireplace seating. Gold star service. Overall, I'd rate the experience a solid 9 out of 10. And can we talk about the bathroom for a sec? A black toilet paired with deep green walls? Obsessed. Trophy Club is absolutely becoming one of my favorite spots. Now I just need to check it out when it's not in theme mode... but let's be honest, I live for the theme nights.

The drink presentations are gorgeous, and you can tell a lot of thought goes into both the flavor and how everything looks when it arrives at the table. They have a great selection of gin, rum, champagne, and whiskey, and I often lean on the staff for drink suggestions because they're really good at recommending something you might not normally order. A few times now they've pointed me toward a drink that ended up being a hidden gem. I've been here a few times and it's always a great time whether you're catching up with friends or doing a date night. The food is also surprisingly good and pairs well with the cocktails. It is definitely on the pricier side, but that's part of the experience. Also, because the space is small and intimate, reservations fill up quickly and they do require a deposit, which goes toward your final bill. Helpful tip: make a reservation ahead of time and don't be afraid to ask the staff for drink recommendations -- they're excellent at guiding you to something special. The restaurant is quite small inside with very limited seating, but the outdoor patio is beautiful. Be ready to likely sit outside, but enjoy the atmosphere. We started with the mezcal old fashioned and the cucumber jalapeño margarita. The mezcal old fashioned was a delicious smoky twist on the classic cocktail. The cucumber jalapeño margarita was refreshing, though a little sweeter than I expected and missing the spicy kick I was hoping for. The guacamole was fresh and tasty, but the portion was quite small and barely enough for two people in my opinion. The salsa was also small but it was absolutely phenomenal. The chicken tacos were excellent, with tender chicken that was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. The enmoladas were also fantastic and are a great way to sample Oaxaca's three unique mole sauces, each with its own distinct character. One thing to note is that the chicken filling is intentionally prepared very simply in traditional Oaxacan cuisine so that the mole remains the star of the dish. If you prefer heavily seasoned meat, this dish may be milder than what you are used to. Overall, everything we tried was delicious and offered a wonderful taste of authentic Oaxacan flavors. Our meal for two included one cocktail each, chips and guacamole, three chicken tacos, and three enmoladas, and came to about $100 with tip.
