My sister, brother and I came to Wedashii in 2024 in Sac. There was no problem finding this lovely establishment at all. We were greeted immediately. Sat near the window which was nice to see the plaza. Our server was so amazing, very accommodating even with my sister doing the most. They even changed the music for my sister as it was my sisters birthday. They spoiled us here and one of the best sushi places I ever had! They were able to make me a deep fried veggie roll which was so good as I'm vegetarian. It was so flavorful. The fries were absolutely delicious. They also have such an extensive menu. The atmosphere is very fun and we had too much fun here for lunch. They were open to my dietary restrictions and we would definitely come back. Their food is so good and reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend this place! The food is incredible and the service is so amazing. Ordered the sashimi platter for a girls picnic a few weeks ago and it was devoured so quick. Each piece was so fresh and flavorful. Second location for Wedashii that I have been in. The one in downtown is much better and feels upscale. This location feels like it's incomplete outside, inside and even the bathroom. We asked the server multiple times to turn off the fan above us as there was dust particles being spread everywhere but it was never turned off. The food itself was somewhat bland, the rice used looked like regular long rice instead of sushi style rice that is usually short grain with a mixture and you can definitely taste the difference. Sake don and sake pepperfin. My husband and I usually get salmon when we go out for sushi. It was right after the lunch rush so we had the place to ourself. They had nice ambiance with nice background music. The staff was friendly and the chef brought over 2 salmon hand rolls saying he noticed we got all salmon. That was so sweet! It was very nice talking to Max at the sushi bar him and my boyfriend talked about anime while we were there and we had the honor of trying his special roll which had apple and asparagus and more in it lol it was good and it was spicy! Super solid and large portions!! Fries were super crispy and soft inside. I forgot the name of the seafood bowl, but it was so fresh and came with a ton of fish. Great selection! Bento bowl has a lot of options. I got the short ribs, chicken katsu, and CA roll. Definitely could have just done the 2 item. Was a lot of food. The short ribs had a little spice to them. Came to Wedashii with my coworkers for a goodbye lunch. I always have a hard time at a sushi restaurant with deciding what to get since everything sounds good, but I decided on the Chef's Choice chirashi (sashimi rice bowl). I was pleasantly surprised how much was given and it filled me up! I even had leftovers. The fish was really fresh and I couldn't have asked for a better lunch. We saw a sign with new ownership on the window and once we walked in, the place was dead besides 4 guys sitting at the bar drinking beer. Ugh, I really wanted to like this place, but after three different visits during weekday lunch, I feel it's fair to share my review. It's always been dead inside. All three of my visits, I've either been the only person eating there or customer number two. They have an extensive menu with a wide selection of sashimi, hand rolls, special rolls, nigiri, and more. It seemed so promising, but it's all just been meh. Nothing special. Way too much sauce on the rolls, I had to wipe it off. I didn't even finish my roll today, it was not very appetizing. But the thing that really irked me the most was the chef making the sushi behind the bar having a very loud personal conversation with another other staff member and taking his sweet time making my food. I watched him stand there today and chat with the waitress for a solid 5 minutes before even getting started on my food (my order was the only one). It's not that I think staff shouldn't mingle, but it was quite excessive and felt really unprofessional. This happened the previous time as well. The waitress was nice and polite though. And one good thing I noticed was that the chef washed his hands before handling the fish - thank god! Either way, third times a charm and I will not be returning. Was hoping to satisfy my sushi craving. Came in around 4:30 on a Thursday and it wasn't very busy so I was sat immediately. Waitress came over immediately and asked for drinks. Upon her return we placed appetizer orders. I ordered the pan fried gyoza. Just okay. They did come out of the kitchen fast. We moved on to sushi rolls which also came out quickly. I ordered one roll that said "large roll" next to the name. Upon reading this, I thought it meant that there were a lot of pieces. Nope. It literally was a LARGE roll. Nowadays the weather is so hot that we came in for sushi to beat the excessive heat. Fortunately Wadashii has tons of seating and we got a table right away. The server was friendly and we placed our order quickly. We shared a "Fresh 2 Def" roll and a three item lunch bento with sashimi, sea steak, and mixed tempura. The roll was one of the simpler ones on the menu (less sauce) with shiso leaf and fresh fish. It was good and had a thick (reduction) sauce on the bottom. It was refreshing on a hot day. Me and each of my three children ordered food from here. My children are 10, 12 and 25. They all have a keen liking for sushi. I was extremely disappointed and all of my children agreed that we were never going to go here again. The one that I ordered was the 24 karat. The garlic sauce tasted like mayonnaise with fresh garlic juice, drenched inside of it. Even though the sauce was bad, I tried to wipe it off of each piece, but the whole thing was horrible. The mushrooms on top Were poorly seasoned. My son had ordered the California roll with Masago and it didn't have any Masago on it. The Dragon roll which we ordered two of, had no sauce and was subpar in flavor. It was all mediocre at best, except for the potstickers, which were pretty well executed, but in the eight minutes, it took to get them home. they were quite cold. So I think that they were probably sitting around, waiting to be given away. I don't know. Very disappointing. We won't be back not to mention the very high prices for all of the disappointment. This place really needs to step up their game. Oh, and as far as the ambience, very boring for a place with those kind of prices. Nothing on the walls. This is my favorite takeout sushi restaurant in Sacramento and I've UberEatsed them multiple times, even before quarantine. What more is there to say? Their fish is always super fresh and pretty generous in portion for the rolls and nigiri. They have some special menu items like the Seared Salmon Belly Nigiri - amazing! I also love their shoyu ramen, which is simple in its clear and not overly salty broth, choice of meat, and mushrooms (yum!!!). It also comes with a whole soft-boiled egg that has the perfectly oozy yolk. Not the most authentic ramen you can find but soo tasty. I need to try their miso ramen sometime! The sesame salmon roll is also delicious, with a slight hint of sesame oil. The portion is also quite generous for its price. I tried it since they don't have a regular sake maki, and was not disappointed! The bento boxes are a great deal as well and the entrees I selected were superb. I tried saba shioyaki (salt-grilled mackerel) and the sea steak (raw tuna steak basically, with some torching on the exterior). It came with a generous iceberg lettuce salad, portion of rice, and miso soup. Their sunomono is tasty but packaged pretty poorly in an unsealed styrofoam container. I'd get it again, but not as a takeout/delivery order. Another quip is that they don't sell miso soup on its own! At least not on the UberEats menu:( Everything is extremely reasonably priced for the quality and portion sizes. $11 for a huge serving of ramen, and $14 for the 2-item bentos.
