    miso vermouth & montenegro
    Naelecia S.

i came here with my bf & we ordered the smoked trout dip, see the elephant, miso vermouth, montenegro & an oyster cocktail. we spent $60. on monday's they have happy hour all day which was awesome! but, they also only have the oyster cocktail on monday's & that one was my favorite. our server was so nice. it was dimly lit with candles & they played a lot of oldies & motown. it's so perfect for date night. some of the seating is a bit close but it's not uncomfortable. we will definitely be back.

If I could give this place a 4.5 I would. 5/5 for the drinks. They were delicious, creative and well presented. We also had dinner here. No pictures, but I wasn't overly impressed with the dinner options provided that night. We started off with beef tartar. It was ok. The bread it was placed on was too flaky and didn't really have flavor. I had chicken. It was juicy, well seasoned. My husband had a sausage plated dinner. It was good but not sure if I would have it fall under dinner. Maybe a bit more suited as a appetizer or small bites (diced up). Definitely will return for the drinks. Unsure if I'd have dinner there again for the price.

A nice, classic hotel lounge with a comfortable atmosphere.:) We come here a few times a year, and the staff are always pleasant, making it easy to relax and take my time. The drinks and food are always delicious, and the menu changes occasionally, which keeps things interesting. However, even though the hamburger is still good, I actually preferred the previous version even at the higher price.

I've been here on several occasions for a quick drink before or after a meal in Sac. I haven't had a chance to dine in but I did try the smoked trout dip last time I was there and enjoyed it as an appetizer. The chips they served alongside it were tasty and very crisp! The service is always good here, they give you your space to chat but waters are always full and they come by often to check on you. I love that I haven't had to wait to be seated even thought I've always been a walk in. I've tried a variety of cocktails here all of them have been good. Tequila, dirty martini, and a whiskey cocktail from their menu have all been enjoyable. I only wish the martini olives were stuffed with blue cheese and that they served you more than one.

Ambiance is da best. Food really good too, but maybe skip on the carpaccio, tad too warm and fishy

Back in Sacramento for another weekend. Our last night here at the Hyatt and we decided to try the restaurant on the 3rd floor again. What I didn't know (from last review) was that the menu changes weekly. So the online menu is not correct. Thanks to our amazing server, Alex, this dinner experience was amazing from the time we sat down. She's been here for a few months. Her service was exceptional. She explained the menu set up, talked to us about the new chef team in the kitchen, and gave us her favorite meals on the menu. We decided to go for: The homemade cavatelli with sausage, sungold tomatoes, thai basil, pecorino romano, bread crumbs. The Kid gave it a 10/10. Rich and creamy with perfectly cooked fresh pasta! We shared the grilled prawns - skull island tiger prawns, shellfish butter, lemon, and parsley. I give those a 15/10. The shellfish butter has a smoky paprika, slight spicy kick. They were cooked perfectly. Almost had a lobster taste. Just needed more than 2 if sharing. I had the burger. It's not on the menu ever... but if you sit in the lounge you can ask about it. It's kind of a take on French onion soup with grilled onions, Gruyère cheese and a buttery brioche bun. The fries are freshly cut and fried crispy. 10/10. We finished our dinner with dessert- crème brûlée and a chocolate mousse with graham cracker crumble and torched French meringue. 10/10 as well (not pictured). The presentation on the desserts are beautiful. The plates remind me Lenox fine china and the gold spoons elevated it even more. The restaurant is a little on the dark side. Conversations can carry. They don't mind- just a heads up. My only "issue" was the hostess. A little abrupt and overall rushed. This time the service and food were excellent. 9/10

Visited for a holiday party and what a stunning place!! The holiday decorations were gorgeous and the entire upstairs was so clean and pristine!! We had a few drinks that were all great - they had staff bringing drinks around and a full table of appetizers- that were yummy and hit the spot!! Such an amazing experience!!

We come here often for drinks. The lounge is located on the top floor of the hyatt house. Parking is valet or street. The bartenders are good. Price is on the higher side but the quality is there. My favorite appetizer is the fried olives. They pair perfectly with a cocktail.

Another great experience at Starlite~ ambiance is consistently classy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a calm, relaxing night out. Their craft cocktails are consistently top-notch--expertly made and thoughtfully presented. A great choice when you're looking for an upscale, low-key evening. This last visit ..the service was a little off..I think they were just really busy...but not going to affect my love for this place! Recommend every day!

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Been wanting to try a Speakeasy in Sac and stumbled upon this cute spot in DT Sac at the Hyatt House. There is valet parking available for $10. This historic building is so beautiful and unique. Made reservations online is recommended for this lounge, since it can get packed. We came for some speakeasy drinks and the drink quality is okay, I've had more interesting speakeasy drinks elsewhere. So we decided to order the chef's charcuterie and it's delicious. I ordered the southeast drink and it's my favorite drink so far, since it's not sweet. The phoenix drink is too sweet for me, and tasted like a Moscow mule drink. Overall, we enjoyed this beautiful building, adds a classy lovely historic charmed atmosphere. We even signed-wrote inside an antique Star Lounge signature book found in one of the drawers on our dining table. Super cute vibe and experience here.

I totally thought I had already reviewed this place once at least but I guess I hadn't. Came for happy hour for their $21 burgers and was totally worth it. I'd prefer some lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on my burger but their take on it was still delicious. Their trout dip was also really good. Even though it's on happy hour for $16 the regular price is also $16 so I dunno what's happy about that lol. Nice classy place to have happy hour.

Such a lovely atmosphere at the Star Lounge. Mood lighting, various seating areas that cultivate a different, cozy vibe wherever you are sitting. Perfect for a date night if you're looking for specialty cocktails. As I've been here quite a few times, I always enjoy the drinks & the staff has always been friendly and gives good recommendations based off your preferences. I will say, they used to have a Brassica salad that was just absolutely incredible. I miss it soooo much, and it's off their menu. I hope they bring it back!!

This place is suchhhh a great spot for a date night, which is what my bf and I came here for. We've been wanting to come try this out for a while, and we finally got around to doing so last night. The ambiance is so moody, which I loveeee. It's dim inside, lit by candle light and small lamps at the tables. It's just super romantic lol. Cocktails are superb! I got their Japanese Laundry (matcha punch) and he got an amaretto sour. I absolutely LOVED my drink. Matcha came through nice and subtle, and the drink itself was so smooth. Def one of the better cocktails I've had. Food was absolutely deliciousssss. We ordered their mozzarella and tomatoes on toast as an appetizer. Arguably my favorite bite of the night. For our mains I ordered their housemade cavatelli, and he ordered their truffled chicken roulade. I literally have no notes lol. SO YUMMY. An easy 10/10. We both said we have to come back to try more items on the menu like immediately haha. The staff were ON IT. So friendly, so attentive.

This spot is going to become THE place to be on K street once people know about it…read more I was in the area and happened to remember they recently opened this brand new spot so I decided to check it out. I remember seeing it mentioned on the news too. I got there when it opened at 7pm so it was pretty quiet, but I got a good feel and vibe from the place. The manager also interacted with me and told me that just last night, the place had some popular DJ and packed the place in. He showed me a video of what the scene looked like and all I can say is wow (in a good way). The best way I think I could describe this spot would be a more intimate Las Vegas night club on the strip while not compromising the quality of cocktails and providing a multi-sensory experience of lights, sounds and energy. I left when things started to get busy but I am confident in saying that you won't be disappointed and feel like you got your money's worth for sure.... especially when they will be having events there. If you get there shortly after it opens, I think you can count on more of a lounge sort of vibe. When it starts getting later or there's a DJ spinning (especially a well known one), then the place turns into an upscale nightclub. Circling back to my experience, I tried their "Plot Twist" cocktail which consists of things like bourbon, lemon, honey, fig jam and walnut and it was one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time. Nicely balanced, smooth, inviting and little to no bite. Just a damn good cocktail that I really enjoyed. There were three bartenders there which were Karla (who made my drink), Ian (who made my second drink that I can't remember what the name was), and Danny. They were all really nice, fun and outgoing bartenders that made me feel welcomed while also maintaining a fun demeanor. I asked if it was ok with them to take their pic since some people don't like that and they were cool with it. The bar seats being a little small were surprisingly comfy and tested out the lounge seating which is also comfy and provides perfect views of everything going on (in case you ever want to reserve a spot). There is no bad seat in the house, the music system is very clear with high end audio, and overall you can tell that a lot of thought and effort was put into this place by people who know what they are doing. A couple of other things to note is that the menu they have on their counter does not display all of the cocktails. There are more on their website which you can look up by going onto their website. When they are in their busy hours, you can reserve spots and get bottle and I think that if you know it's going to be a busy night, it will be worth it to do with a group. There will probably be a door charge later in the night so be prepared for that, however I did see on their website that they do have a guestlist so take advantage of that! They do have a dress code so when in doubt, just dress to impress and you should have no trouble getting in. The average cocktail is around $15 and think it's reasonable for the kind of cocktail you will be able to get. Archive is open on certain days so be sure to double check that they are open before going. Ultimately, if you haven't been yet, this is one place you should definitely check out at least once. If you're more into the lounge vibe, get there early. If you're more into the clubbing vibe, get there a little later or check out their events for the ultimate experience. I will definitely be back and this place is raising the bar on K Street and whole area. Oh yeah, and lastly, they do accept tap to pay including Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay as well as credit/debit cards and cash. Thanks for the great time guys!
