My first experience here was unforgettable -- my class rented out the rooftop for our master's degree graduation party, so I really got to see everything they offer. The food was phenomenal and the drinks were just as impressive. Since it was a private event, I had the chance to try a little bit of everything: wagyu sliders, shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, pork belly bites, charcuterie, and more. We truly went all out. Outside of that event, every time I've come in as part of the general public, it's been a positive experience too. Very pleasantly surprised at the high quality of drinks and food being served here paired with excellent service. This is located on a rooftop of the Hyatt Centric with sweeping views of Sacramento and beyond. We went around sunset to enjoy some drinks and apps before heading out. The menu was creative and unique. Our cocktails were very well prepared and our server made a great recommendation when they were out of an Ingredient for one of the drinks we wanted to try. Their recommendation was a solid option. For food we tried the tandoori chicken lollipops which were super juicy and tender and flavorful. The location is fantastic. It's in the heart of downtown right off K Street and DOCO. The hotel itself is fancy and very modern. You need to take the hotel's elevator up to get to this bar. The patio area is the main draw here as it is decently sized and has great views of the surrounding buildings. The pizza was pretty solid. I did not think it was going to be as spicy as it was but wow did it act like a flamethrower in my mouth. They had nice complimentary water that was easily accessible. The bar line can be long at times but the service is top notch. I'd say expect to walk out of here for about $25 a person for a drink and food. The views and ambience more than make up for its price tag. Also, the bathrooms are all gender so don't be freaked out if you see all sorts of people in the lavatory lol. To get to the Clayton club you have to enter through Hyatt Centric and catch an elevator to the top of the building. There you will enter doors to the most relaxing place to get drinks. First time out here for a girls night. This spot is inside the Hyatt hotel in downtown. In which you gotta go up to the 6th floor to the lounge. This spot is trendy and comfortable and visually appealing. We got her around 8:30 pm on a Saturday and was not busy. We sat inside for a few before exploring the outdoor area. We ordered the sharable hummus plate, the pork belly bites and I order the CC old fashion drink as my friend ordered the crows nest. Both drinks eye bourbon and pretty strong. This is located on the 6th floor. The inside is fancy and i love the vibes of the bar. The chairs are so royalty here. . The patio was modern and has a nice view of downtown. It was hot on a 95 degree day. Sit in the shade but when sun goes down it is perfect to stay up here and drink up. . We booked out a portion of the rooftop for a private event (20-25 people) and I think it would have been better spent somewhere else? The food & drinks were surprisingly good, but I think the corner they gave us (we reserved the firepit) was not very good. It was right next to the exit where the staff comes out of to enter the rooftop. Think the experience would have been better if they offered the inside seating, considering how much we spent (about 2500$ for 4 hours), which was nicer. Upon arriving at the sixth floor lounge, we were greeted by a gentleman at a podium whom instructed us that there was open seating. Although there was indoor seating, we wanted to sit outside so that we could take in the beautiful backdrop of the well-lit downtown high-rise buildings. Since it was a chilly night, we were grateful to find fireside seating. Roughly five minutes after being seating, a friendly employee by the name of Gabriella greeted and provided us with menus. Even though the bar can make any cocktail, I opted to order the flavorful and holiday season-appropriate Spiced Cider. Less than 10 minutes later Gabriella delivered our drinks as my friend and I were engaged in conversation. Since there was a country concert at the nearby Golden 1 Center, I was anticipating folks rushing the lounge to enjoy a quick drink before attending the concert; however, it appeared that the Clayton Club may be a hidden gem at the moment. To those of you looking for an upscale, elegant and sophisticated lounge in the heart of downtown Sacramento, look no further because the "Clayton Club" will have you covered. Located on the 6th floor of the Hyatt Centric Hotel at L and 7th St's, this rooftop bar/lounge has been opened since early-2022. Since then, there has been a respectable amount of positive reviews. I finally had the opportunity to check this place out for myself during the evening of Saturday 12/09/2023. As many people already know, parking can be a pain in this part of town as there are several pay-to-use parking garages in close proximity. I would recommend taking rideshare (Uber/Lyft) especially on nights where they do concerts and sporting events. Reservations are strongly recommended as my lady and I made reservations via-OpenTable for 8:30pm. After entering through the hotel lobby, we made a short walk to the elevator. Keep in mind that the inside of the elevator does not show which floor Clayton Club is on. Oddly, it is on the 6th floor even though the hotel itself has 11 floors total. Upon entering, a gentleman at the check-in area looks up my name on the reservation and all is good. The inside of this place has a very hip and modern look to it but also a very classic retro vibe as well. They pay respect to legendary jazz/blues musicians as there are several album covers on the walls. You will also notice posh seating with a variety of fabric and leather sitting areas as well as a very nice bar area. However, the real winner is their rooftop lounge that offers ample seating, firepits and heating lamps (for the cool nights), and a picturesque view of the downtown Sacramento skyline. Waiter service was very accommodating as our hostess took care of us in the 90 minutes that we were here. I went with an IPA while my lady ordered a glass of Red Merlot. In addition to their fancy cocktails, they also carry several small bites including ceviche, meatball sliders, street tacos, and much more. Their hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00-10:00pm. If you wish to indulge in larger portions of food, check out the "7th Street Standard" (also inside the Hyatt Centric) that offer generous hours in their brunch, lunch, and dinner. All in all, "Clayton Club" is an excellent intimate atmosphere that I highly recommend. My rating, a unanimous five stars. read more

My family flew in from Hawaii, and we planned what we hoped would be a memorable rooftop experience at your downtown Sacramento location. Unfortunately, the evening took an unexpected and disappointing turn on February 7th 2026. Due to multiple physical altercations involving guests attending a private party, the establishment closed early. As a result, my family and I were asked to leave and had to find another rooftop location on short notice. This was especially frustrating given that we selected this venue specifically because of its reputation as a classy, staple destination in downtown Sacramento. We understand that situations arise; however, the handling of the evening did not reflect the elevated hospitality experience one expects from a Hyatt property. Having out-of-town family present made the disruption even more disappointing. We will be contacting corporate to share this feedback directly, as this experience fell far below expectations and caused a significant inconvenience during what was meant to be a special evening. There were 20 girls and we were LOUD and I am surprised Clayton Lounge did not ask us to leave and I appreciate them for that!
