So I've tried to get Home Comfort to schedule the yearly furnace inspection the last two days and I gather their receptionist is not passing on my message, or Mike or Steve do not want my business any longer or they're super busy. She said they are scheduling furnace inspections for the fall now, and I know their schedule fills up fast. In fact, I missed getting on their schedule for last year (2024) and then they told me I did not need it, since the furnace was only a year old. Their scheduling is that you call, leave a message with the receptionist, and then, they call you back to schedule service, usually later in the day. I've left my phone on every day from 5 am until 8 pm when we go to sleep. Home Comfort installed the furnace ac, thermostat and humidifier back in 2023 brand new. Everything is working great but I'm a teacher and start work next week so I figured I'd get this scheduled now, since I can't always keep my phone on, and answer it. I finally asked the receptionist, why isn't he calling me back, and she said, oh, he keeps a list for furnace checks, and he'll get to it, later. He's busy with a/c right now. Maybe tell people that, because here I'm glued to my phone, and not realizing that. July 22, 2025 Home Comfort out today to see why the a/c they installed in Oct 2023 only works sporadically or when I reset the system by turning the thermostat (that they installed) on and off to get it restarted. It kept stopping and then not restarting, after the temperature was at the point I had set. So if the room got warm again, no a/c, unless I turned everything off and then back on again, after waiting at least 5 minutes. Home Comfort replaced the thermostat for no cost, and told me I have a 10 year warranty on the a/c, thermostat, furnace, and humidifier that they installed in 2023. I did not know that. Don't call anyone else. I had a company out here 2 week ago, paid them, and they could not figure out why the a/c was not always working and that cost me way too much. Lesson learned. You have to get Home Comfort out because their techs know stuff other companies don't know. They installed American Standard equipment, but the new thermostat (that works) is Emerson. They installed Aprilaire for the humidifier. Now, my a/c is super cold because it is staying on and restarting as the house needs cooling. Finally, It's working properly! So happy! But now, they're not returning my calls to check the furnace for the winter..... read more

I cannot say enough about Mike and his team. Not only are they extremely responsive, but they consistently perform extremely high quality work for lower prices than anyone else in the region. One time our AC froze up on a very hot summer day and Mike came out, diagnosed a dirty filter, and didn't even charge us. He said it will thaw out and run ok. Anyone else would have charged us $200-$300 to add refrigerant, but not Mike. On another occasion, Mike walked me thru how to diagnose a short circuit over the phone (I have some electrical experience). He successfully talked me through the procedure and I was able to get our system up and running without needing a technician to come out. Mike and his team are exceptionally honest and transparent. I even have his number saved as "Mike, Honest HVAC". We are planning to replace our aging furnace with him. Highly recommended for all HVAC needs. read more

Technician was thorough splicing wires a mouse chewed to clean it up and rinsed the outside of the ac unit instead of telling us we could do it like a previous company had done years ago. Steve and the guys were great. My air died at the end of 22. This spring had the complete system changed (March). It was a tight fit in a closet. .......time to update the review. Guess this company doesn't care about existing customers. And we REALLY, REALLY tried to get in contact with this company and give them a chance. And this week we are BUYING a new A/C system. I guess they didn't want this business either did they? A simple call back to say 'sorry, we are busy', or 'sorry, we can't service your unit', or 'sorry we can't sell you a new unit'. STOP TELLING CUSTOMERS YOU WILL CALL THEM BACK WHEN IT IS APPARENT BY YOUR REPLY THAT YOUR BUSINESS NEVER HAD THE INTENTION TO! I'd give them ZERO stars if I could. We gave them MULTIPLE chances and weeks to respond our messages. We've been using Home Comfort Systems for 5 years for A/c and heating maintenance. The first time we switched over to them, Steve (the owner) came to our house and sat with me and my husband in our kitchen for 2 hours talking about the new technology on the A/C and heating systems. We told him at the time we'll use his company for maintenance and when our current 20+ year old system goes out, then we'll look at a new system. And all was good . . . UNTIL the end of May this year. We called because the A/C was running really loud and not getting cool enough. The weather was in the 90's that week so we were understanding they were probably very busy. We waited an entire week for a call back. Then my husband called again and sat in some music holding pattern on their phone line for an hour. He tried again the next day - same thing - couldn't even leaving a message. I then went to Facebook and messaged the company on May 20 (which was an entire week after we first left the first message). Home Comfort System has been out service providers for over 25 years. Our journey all started in Bolingbrook, IL. I know live in Lockport, IL where I needed there services again. On June 12th which was the first hot day I noticed my house was not cooling. Home Comfort called me back and had me see if different things were working or not to try and save me a service call before the had to actually come to my home, and unfortunately none of the things worked. So Steve came over the next day, checked my air conditioner unit and found that some kind of rodents had eaten some wires. Ugh. But they fixed the unit and it runs like a charm. I have been using Home Comfort Systems for my residential furnace and AC service for a few years now. My AC went out the day before Father's Day. After viewing several DIY videos on YouTube I determined the outside condenser unit needed at least a new capacitor. Just in case additional work needed to be done, I called on Father's Day expecting to leave a message to get an ASAP appointment for a service visit. Not 5 minutes later, I got a return call from Mike. WOW! I explained the problem and that Amazon was delivering the capacitor the next day. I haven't had air conditioning for the past four days. I called another company who gave me an estimate of $750 to repair and tried to sell me a new unit for $7000 which quickly went down to $4700 when I said that was too high. I paid the service charge and sent him on his way. The HVAC system in our 75 year old Georgian needed replacement. Did the standard three estimates to gather info. Home Comfort was not the least expensive, but included all work with no extra "surprise" charges, which makes a notable difference with a home this old. The installers were friendly and professional and knocked out the job in a day. They were respectful of our home and were careful when hauling the old gear out and placing the new systems in place. I received a call the night before the job started to confirm the correct gear was sent to the job; I received another call one day after the job was complete to be sure I was happy with the installation and to answer any questions I had.
