Steve was in the shop that day and was so kind and knowledgeable that I felt comfortable leaving my computer with him. Little did I know at that time that banks send customers who have been hacked to AMT and this type of crime is not uncommon, even in Sherwood. I recently went to "Computer Help" and was surprised at how much he charged verses the competition…read more I was also surprised at how much work this man "Jonathan" did on my computer. It's not just the price but his passion to help everyone get their computers fixed for a price much less than a new computer would cost. He spent days running programs and diagnostics then removing all kinds of malware and viruses I had acquired. I even found out that someone was using my computer to send out thousands of spam mail through a "back door" they had created. I also had a virus designed to steal account passwords. Jonathan cleaned all of this up. I believe places like big box stores purposely charge high repair prices so that you figure it is cheaper to purchase a new computer instead of getting yours fixed. I told Jonathan that I would share his talent and compassion with everyone which is why I am writing this review. Jonathan also told me he is very good with creating business related databases and web sites, and has done so for everything from mom and pop to multi million dollar businesses. And most important, he offers one on one computer classes for people who have questions, any questions at all regarding just about anything computer related which is why I am going back. The voicemail states that the business is no longer supporting new residential customers (only existing residential customers with support plans). I very much appreciated the clear message so I didn't waste time leaving a voicemail and waiting on a return call. Now back to Yelp to try and find someone else.

I have a 2013 MacBook Pro with a CD drive that was starting to slow down considerably, presenting…read moreme with the beach ball of doom with just about every action I tried to take. Plus, my battery was no longer holding a charge, so I was tethered to my adapter. This is the time at which I buy a new computer. But you can't get one with the CD drive anymore, and I still use mine for my outdated exercise videos and movies on the plane. So I consulted Joseph at Portland ComputerWorks about a tune up. He recommended I increase my memory, replace the battery and get a solid state hard drive. His pricing came in at under $400.00. He also cleaned the interior and tightened the hinge for the screen. I love the result! This machine should go on now for at least two more years. It's like having a new machine! I do not live anywhere near Portland ComputerWorks, but it was Joseph's appraisal, manner and trustworthiness that made me leave my personal grid. I won't go anywhere else in the future.
