    Raspberry Glazed Donut

Tried the cream filled kolache, raspberry glazed donut, and egg and cheese croissant. Everything was good. My favorite was definitely the raspberry donut.

March 8, 2022 stopped in on my way home from work. Busy drive thru Tried the boudin kolache...boudin bland. Dawn Donut way better Tried a (huge) sausage egg cheese burrito. It was filled up with egg/sausage that's for sure but, the cheese was sparse. The sausage had no flavor either. Dawn Donut, you MY fav

We needed a quick breakfast as we had an early checkout for our air b&b, so naturally donuts and kolaches were the answer! This place has a lot of reviews and nearly 5 stars so it was what I picked. Upon arrival I noticed it is a popular spot as the parking lot was full and the drive thru was also full. (Pro tip - park on the other side of the drive thru lane so as not to get blocked in.) Upon arriving at the window I was happily greeted and asked what I would like. I already knew as my family are creatures of habit so it's almost always the same for donuts. 2 each of glazed, chocolate, and blueberry. I also ordered 2 jalapeño and cheese kolaches. We also got milk (full and 2%) and some bottled water. They're didn't have strawberry but they did have chocolate milk. My family said the donuts were "okay" and I although looking at my kolaches I was happy (I want just a little bread at most and that's exactly what I got - LOVE IT) they were also just okay. There was zero spice to them and they tasted plain. I did steal a bite of my son's blueberry and I liked it Overall not bad. Customer service was awesome! Food was average. I would probably go somewhere else next time to compare.

I love everything about this place! The food, the people and the shop itself. You can dine in or use their drive-thru window. It's an old fashioned donut shop like when I was a kid. They have counter seating with spinning stools. It's a Galveston favorite.

Nostalgic. Possibly original decor from the 70's. Friendly people working. Delicious donuts and packed in colorful bags. Makes you feel like you are a young kid again.

Bavarian, Honey Dip, Chocolate, and Lemon Donuts

My wife and I recently visited Home Cut Donuts and ordered the Honey Dip, Bavarian, Lemon, and Chocolate Donuts. All the donuts were delicious, light and airy. The Bavarian filling was creamy and citrusy and the Lemon filling was nicely tangy. Overall, Home Cut Donuts serves good quality donuts.

Eggcellet sausage egg and cheese croissant. Many varieties of donuts. Fast service and SUPER friendly!! This is your old fashioned coffee/donut house. Do come looking for a specialty coffee. But a great little place to grab a donut, breakfast croissant , Kolache or breakfast biscuit.

The front of the donut shop & a wonderful honey glazed donut.

These donuts are too greasy; the make my stomach hurt. I wonder how clean the grease is or if the fryers are hot enough?

It's a donut place. Good and tasty. Boudin kolaches are the best. I will get them every-time.

Why 5 stars? Because it will be hard to come to Galveston again without stopping here…read more --- --- --- In general, I find myself to be more disappointed with Bagels than not. So when my wife suggested we make this our final stop before leaving town, I was just kind of along for the ride. It turns out, the ride was amazing. I was visiting NYC a few months earlier and went to a place that was wildly considered to have the best bagels in the city. They were perfectly fine but not really remarkable. But GBC served the kind of bagels we were still thinking about the next day. I think it was the softness that really separated them. Said softness was easier to detect from the snickerdoodle bagels we ordered with strawberry and honey butter cream cheese. Both were no doubt 5-stars. But for my "main course" was the Pelican Island, which was a hodgepodge of deliciousness all crammed betwixt two blueberry bagels. I really enjoyed it, but if I returned for a second visit, I would order something else only because there were like ten other things I wanted to try. By the way, I also enjoyed stealing a few bites of my wife's ham, egg and cheese bagel. Earlier I said "if I returned for a second visit", and I'd like to correct the record. We will 100% be returning for a second visit. We might even go as far as a visit here being an excuse for why we need to come back to Galveston a few months from now.

My husband suggested we give this a try, which surprised me because he universally hates bagels…read more "Too chewy." Well, this was an excellent stop. Bagels are more bready vs chewy. As a result, my husband loved it! The savory bagels were more to our liking - particularly the cheddar Jalapeno and the everything bagel. 10/10 would order and have these shipped if I could.

I got a t-shirt too that I wore for years until it was ultimately retired. I actually wrote a Yelp review about it that I deleted. In it, I said "The smell of the waffle cones filled the place with smiles and enjoyment. I knew I wanted a waffle cone." What a terrible critic. He will never be Yelp Elite. I haven't been back to Hey Mikey's since then, just because I haven't really been back to Galveston in some time, but my memories of the unique ice cream flavors and toppings remained. Heading back to Galveston for a cruise, I wanted to try and make a stop there again for nostalgia's sake. Instead of heading to the Airbnb, my girlfriend and I drove straight to Hey Mikey's as our first stop in Galveston. We got there around 8:45 pm, which was 15 minutes before they closed (our fault). This is no diss to Hey Mikey's, but almost everything else on The Strand on a Thursday night closes way too early, so it felt like everyone was at Hey Mikey's. The line was extensive in front of us and behind us even after it closed. After waiting through the line for quite some time, I got a waffle cone with their cereal milk ice cream, which had Fruity Pebbles in it, topped with Lucky Charms. They gave it to me with a temperature-changing plastic spoon that turned from yellow to purple when cold. The ice cream was sensational. What an incredible flavor. The only downside was the waffle cone being a little stale, but I fault that to it being a waffle cone ordered right at closing time. The next night, I returned with my cousins and ordered a cup of cereal milk ice cream with Cocoa Puffs as the topping instead. Fantastic stuff. Once again, being there too close to closing meant we had to wait, and we didn't get our ice cream until 9:30, a full 30 minutes after they closed. It was nice that they still served us though! One thing I did notice, which I don't know if it's a normal thing, is that since Hey Mikey's is the only ice cream shop open past 8 o'clock on most weeknights, they seem to get a lot of foot traffic after that time. Their menu is pretty large in its offerings. If it were just scoops of ice cream, the line would move fast, but so many people were ordering shakes, which are a lot more labor-intensive and removed a staff member from their assembly line to focus on the shake. I don't have any advice on how they could easily move the line in the later hours of the night, but man, those kids are working their butts off for everyone to get their late-night sweet treat. Hey Mikey's, you are just as good as I remember.
