For those that have not been to this location in the last year or two - I started coming here on Sundays a couple of years back given they had great coupons and I wanted to try them out. When I first started coming, the restaurant was still struggling with hiring enough employees and I was met by a manager and a cook. Still, great attitudes and great food for a great price. Today, no less than 8 employees were present to greet me, including my server Michael, pictured in the review. Michael spends time during his shift washing dishes but, during peak rushes, such as when i arrived, he provides full service by taking orders and serving food - he also took payment for my order later while I sat finishing my coffee - with every answer to a question ended with a "sir", Michael serves to give me hope that the role of a hardworking teenage employee is not extinct. As far as my order, I like the Smokehouse Platter, consisting of an order of sausage AND bacon (why choose??) , three eggs your way, hash browns, and a choice of either toast and grits OR biscuits and sausage gravy (pick biscuits and gravy and thank me), all for only $7.79 with a coupon you get in your mailbox every week!! After leaving my last review the manager Shari reach out to me asking for my business once again. We gave them another chance and I am glad we did. Shari is definitely an asset to Huddle House. She's working very hard to turn the customer experience around and provide outstanding service and food that they can be proud to serve . The restaurant today was clean . The wait staff was efficient and on top of their game and the cook did a splendid job . If it wasn't for Shari we never would have stepped foot back in Huddle House. She takes pride in her work and insist that her staff provides excellent service as well as quality food . I must say that we were pleasantly surprised with the turnaround . Let me start by saying staff were attentive... greeted us on arrival, seated immediately and treated us well. I had stopped going to Huddle House about three years ago, and after reading recent Facebook reviews, decided to give them another try. We ordered hamburgers and fries. Hamburger patties are very thin and were dry/overcooked. French fry portions were small compared to other local restaurants. Tables had been wiped down, but still sticky from spilled syrup. Just left this location and not a great experience. They got my order wrong, dropped my husbands food on the ground. Waitress came over and told us that he wasn't the cook and that the cook was busy!! There were empty tables however not cleaned off from the last customers. One family got up and straight left because they never got their food. The waitresses were busy chatting with people at the counter instead of helping other customers. Out of 20 years of going to Waffle/Huddle House & working at Waffle House, I have never seen such a good cook. Adam had perfect flip timing. He also cleaned the grill after each ticket & DRAINED THE OIL FROM THE HASHBROWNS!!! You'd be surprised at just how little effort this takes and massively increases the quality of the food. I've walked out of this Huddle House twice for the same reason, the staff just ignores customers when they don't want to wait on you. Not a word of recognition or a "I'll be right with you". I like Huddle House but it will be a long time before I go back. I was not alone when I walked out the last time, the folks sitting next to me did the same. Place looked like a freight train had just passed through. Had to flag down a server for a place to sit. Waiting almost 15 minutes to get my order taken. Took 20 minutes for the food which was incomplete. Waited another 3 minutes to flag down (not my server) for silverware setup. Remainder of order arrived as I finished the meal. Was told to come back a third time after driving 20 minutes twice so i could pick up what was missing. Spoke with the manager, they cant do refunds apparently. I'd give this place a zero if it'd let me. Before we even went inside, my cousin was telling me about how the last time she was there, her friend didn't get cheese on her sandwich, so the cook came out holding the cheese in his bare hand, and put it on the her. I had asked for a crispy buffalo chicken sandwich with grilled onions and jalapenos, but, after 30 minutes, I had gotten the wrong order. It was grilled, rather than crispy, there was no ranch dressing or jalapenos on it (the ranch comes on it already), and the onions were still raw in the middle. I let the waitress know, and she took my plate back, then brought it back 10 minutes later asking if I'd "just take this one while we get your order fixed." I was hungry, so I took it. As I was waiting for my fixed order, I would look back at the kitchen every now and then to see that the cook is indeed not wearing gloves, which I'd have no problem with if I had also seen if he was regularly washing his hands and keeping skin contact on the food at a minimum. (he wasn't) The wait for the fixed order was just not worth it though, so we had just paid for the food and left. Went here for breakfast today with the Mrs. As we pulled in, the place looked super packed. Motorcycles and cars filled the parking lot. Girl Scouts were set up selling their addictive little cookies. We went inside and there were only two tables available and a lady was sitting down at one of them. The tables were dirty from the last customers, but within about a minute someone came to wipe down the table and collect the remaining dishes. We ordered a coffee and a water and began looking at the menus that are already on the tables. Looking around, the place was slammed with obvious regulars and other patrons. The place was not dirty, but you could tell that there had been a rush of customers. Something that was very impressive is watching the staff work. I had a coffee. And, I had a waitress. But, my coffee was filled at three different times by three different waitresses. Watching them work the dining room was kind of impressive. They all worked together shouting out orders and communicating back and forth. It was a little rowdy. You know, a little rough around the edges; and I liked it. Now the food-the food was pretty good. I was actually surprised. I have been to these breakfast greasy spoons before. They are usually a little more.... greasy. I ordered the Smokehouse Platter. Bacon (lots), eggs, biscuits and gravy, and hashbrowns. Pretty basic breakfast food, but also pretty decent. Fast and fresh off the grill. Had a bite of the waffle of the wife's plate as well. Zero stars. This place has went way down hill. What do you expect for a place like this at 12am? Not much, but this was just sad! As a waitress in the restaurant business for over ten years..lord I don't even know where to begin! Eggs over easy were VERY well done.. Philly with cheddar cheese?? I guess they were out of Swiss and didn't bother to inform us.. biscuits were HARD AS A ROCK. We asked our waitress to actually stick a fork in the biscuits.. she asked us why in the world did we even try to eat those like that. At this point I'm just baffled. She took off the grits and the drinks and said she was sorry but that's all she could do... wow! And ma'am I didn't quit get your name....?
