We were out of town from Virginia with a party of five, and we had the most wonderful experience at Home Kitchen! From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. Marie and Mario were an amazing team -- they were attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. It's clear that this family-owned business takes great pride in what they do. We absolutely loved the JJ Sandwich and the American French Toast -- both were delicious and packed with flavor! I was there for the second day of their soft opening. The food was pretty good, and service was okay - servers generally upbeat and helpful, but you could tell there was still some learning/training that needs to happen. I think this will be a nice addition to the local breakfast scene. The food was super bland no flavor. I got the stuffed blueberry French toast. I must say the almonds were a bad Idea and the French toast needed more butter and flavor. We stopped by for breakfast to try something other than the traditional spots. Our waiter was very disappointing. He barely checked on us and we had to flag him down anytime we needed something. I didn't feel welcomed at all, although we detected Christian music was playing in the background. Upon leaving, the cashier barely looked at us. this was our first time here. my wife wanted to surprise me with a breakfast place in the morning and she found home kitchen. it was cute when you first walked in. it was a saturday so of course they were busy, as expected, but the wait wasn't long at all. we got sat and greeted by our server (forgot his name) but he was very knowledgeable and attentive. asked if we had dined in before and we said no and he mentioned the specials they had on the board and explained what they were. i ordered the jj sandwich and my wife got the turkey omelette. food looked really when we got it, but what really wowed me was when i noticed my ham had some blue spots, i stopped the server to ask about it and he without hesitation told me that he will double check with the cooks, no attitude or "that's just how the ham looks". not even a few minutes later the chef/owner comes out and kindly explains to us what kind of ham that is and it's normal for some blue spots (we googled the type of ham they have and it did say that it was normal) but he insisted on making me a new one with the ham steak they have. it was delicious! instead of him making me feel like an idiot and just giving me my sandwich back, he took the time out of a busy saturday morning to make me a new one. that's going above and beyond!! our server was extremely nice to us and not made us feel any less. my wife also loved her omelette! she added mushrooms to it because it didn't come with them and she loved it. we will definitely be back! read more

First timers here, dropped by with the family to check out a new spot, always good to hear it's a family ran business, you can see it and feel it. First impression was what we saw, nice open clean space, you could see the server/coffee station which to me was a tell tale sign on how clean and organized this establishment is, loved to see Chef Daniel make guest appearances in FOH and see the involvement and care for his guest and staff. Maxwell was our server, very attentive and great attitude even with all the questions i threw at him, the closer i looked the more i liked. Food was nice and simple but well executed which to me is the most important, great bang for your buck definitely worth a try if you are looking into dining with them. Food was average at best. Had a bit of a laugh cause their "with cheese" option was a Kraft single slapped on top. Drinks were aweful. Couldn't get them replaced because the service was absolutely terrible. Sat down, took our order and then disappeared, didn't come back until he dropped off the check (staff from the kitchen were the ones that dropped off the food). Had to flag a busboy down just to get some syrup. Jason, I think his name was, was too busy talking up the girl waiter behind the bar. Was really sad, too. Walking into Home Kitchen, I felt the Amazing ambiance of this place. i knew it was going to be a special place. We were sat immediately from the host Mario who was very kind and sweet. He brought us menus and forks and spoons. our server angel came to help us and was amazing. the food came out great and loved it. I order the farmer's skillet and my girlfriend order the stuffed Raspberry French toast. This is a must try. The French toast was made to perfection and was amazing. Our server returned multiped times to check back on us to make sure we were doing great Its an amazing establishment who the owners really know the value of food. Many businesses lack the need for value and core in an establishment but this business meet all standards for me. The Owner came out Multiple times from the kitchen to check on his guest ( An old school thing but to see it still happening is amazing to witness ) . We found out he was the head chef and owner which was amazing to hear. Sometimes you see a head chef and the owner separate but here you have it all at one. Like in Cafe Java, The Owner leaves it all to a head chef to cook and he's only standing their doing nothing for his guest. The complete opposite here at home kitchen. The owner was very pleased to share his background of his restaurant industry experience and more. The owner was super happy to be working and serving his guest with high quality food. Everyone that entered left happy I hope they succeed in the future and continue do what they are doing. I've been here multiple times and haven't complained since. 2 of us waited for over 30 minutes on a Saturday morning for a table after we were told it would be 15-20 minutes and when I went to ask how much longer it would be I was told 20-30 more minutes. There were 10 empty tables and only 3 other people waiting. We left and went back across to the Waffle House instead. We waited 2 minutes for that place to seat us. Service here was impeccable, our wonderful server (Yoel) was juggling so many tables at once and was still able to fulfill our orders/desires/wishes. Upon arriving, we were of course greeted by the hostess, but it was a nice surprise to be greeted by the cooks as well. They were kind and smiley. The chef even came out at one point to ask how the food was and we were honest with him, "The food was AMAZING" because it really was. My family and I enjoyed everything from the house potatoes, the french toast, oatmeal, coffee, to the breakfast sandwich. Yoel and the staff definitely made our experience even better aside from the greatness of the food. I think I may have found a new favorite breakfast for lunch spot. This place is so easy to miss, being in the strip mall past the Circle K. The only reason I found it is because I saw it under the "openings" section of the Community Impact newspaper. When I went to their website and saw they had corned beef hash, I had to go! Just had a simple breakfast with eggs over easy, hash, fried potatoes, and toast (I opted for sourdough). Everything was fresh and tasty. Service was prompt. Price was between Waffle House and First Watch (my other go to places), and I didn't feel overstuffed, as I often do at First Watch. Only complaint was they ran out of tea while I was there. The place was pretty busy at 1PM, but only about a 5 minute wait to be seated. I'll definitely be back to try their Reuben! read more

Went to breakfast at Home Kitchen with a friend yesterday. Very cute, clean and well laid out dining area. Our waiter, Manuel, was very pleasant, helpful, and delivered excellent customer service. Both of our breakfast were delicious and my friend especially loved their oatmeal - delicious and full of yummy ingredients. We both took home additional pastry items (cinnamon roll and pistachio muffin) which provided us a treat for breakfast today. Servers can make or break the experience. I'm not sure what our server's name was but it was just me and one other person - we were stuck there for over an hour because he was so slow to take our order and check in with us. What made it more obvious was the decent server in the section over, getting people their food and getting them out the door so he could turn over more tables. Went on NYD for breakfast solo since Cafe Java was closed for the day. I was told I could sit at the bar but I asked for a table. It literally took 10 mins for someone to come and acknowledge me dispute multiple servers and busboys standing around, walking past me, looking directly at me. Other parties who got sat immediately got service before they could all sit down. No one checked to see how my meal was, or needed anything else until AFTER I was finished. The food is ok not great or life changing. I get this place is new and all but there's absolutely no excuse for someone dining solo to not get the same service as others. There's other reviews saying similar issues with the manager replying "they aim to greet all guests within 2-3 minutes". Clearly this is an issue and for this reason I definitely will not be back. At least down the street at the other similar place they acknowledge you and have amazing service. read more
