The last time I ate at Bunz was at their original location next to Wick's Pizza on Baxter Ave. In my search for the current best hamburger in town, I thought it was time to pay a visit to the Paristown location. We looked at the menu online. Looked like there were good options at reasonable prices. But when we arrived we realized the prices were higher than their website. We ordered two Santa Fe burgers, onion rings, and French fries. At $12.50 for the burger I was expecting something very good. After a short wait in the cafeteria style seating, our name was called and we picked up our order. The fries and onion rings looked great. The fries were crispy but nothing to write home about. The onion rings, prepared perfectly, light, and not plagued by the problem where the batter separates from the onion with each bite. Now for the burger. Ironically for a place called Bunz, terrible bun. Soggy, void of any real quality. I would guess that the reason the bun was soggy is that the burger was packaged in foil. The burger patty itself didn't look hand-pattied, more frozen premade patty. The toppings were fine. There was some sort of "Big Mac" sauce on the burger. All in all, it's a very fast food-ish experience at an elevated price. I wouldn't put Bunz in a league with say Toasty's, Grind or Brass social.

We came here on our road trip and had a hard time finding it as it was inside a building with different little restaurants but parking was abundant. The menu has tons of customizable options and the prices are great. Our order was taken without any issues and came out super fast. This place is AMAZING if I could give 6 stars I would. The frys were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The burger was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. The signature sauce has quite a kick which I LOVE. The bacon cheese frys were genuinely the best I've ever had, they make wendys seem terrible. The bacon was crunchy and full of flavor and the cheese was super tasty. This is by far the best burger place I've ever been to. please come here

After kids went ice skating at Paristown we decided to eat at The Village Market. One man was manning Bunz Burgerz, Banditz Pizza and Cubana Streetz completely alone. The other places were not very busy but he always had customers. This man was full force working hard. I got a dish from each place. With how busy he was I thought we might end up waiting awhile or that the food would just be ok. But the food came in a reasonable amount of time and it was delicious. Everyone loved what they got and my favorite was the plantains. How do they get that perfect slightly crunchy exterior?? This man deserves a raise and a vacation.

Bunz Burger, located in Paristown section of Louisville is fantastic. Bunz is located inside the Village Market with three other restaurants and Jeff's Donuts. I ordered the mushroom burger which is called something more clever on the me but wowsa wee was it good! The bacon was crisp and the onions were nicely seasoned. The mushrooms, the start of the burger were great as well. If I lived in Louisville my buns would be here a lot...and likely growing.

Single burger with toppings and cheese

As part of our family dinner, we ordered a couple of single burgers and fries. Burgers can come with several basic toppings for no charge while others, like cheese, are additional. The shining mentions of the meal were the fries and an order of fried mushrooms my husband added. Good flavor and nicely crisped on the outside. Our burger was average, but nothing to make me reorder it over the other meal options at the Village Market. For me it was comparable to a cookout at home, but it's perfect though for kids or when you have a burger crave. We ordered from 4 spots at the market. Bunz took twice as long to get our meal, but still within reason for us since we weren't on a schedule. Friendly team at the counter that helped take our orders.

My favorite burger in Louisville is the Red Bird (f/k/a Red State). I also love the Beer Cheese Burger and the Louisville Shroom, but I keep coming back for the Red and can you blame me? Look at that beauty! The sweet potato fries that come with a side of honey are also crave-worthy. The onion rings are also good. My advice: go with family and/or friends who are willing to share and order the entire menu.

Now located in a smaller building in the same area and Paristown, used to be on Baxter. It shares a space with other restaurants and a full bar inside. There is a lot of seating inside. I ordered just a burger and fries with a drink. Basically a build your own burger. I got a double burger with American Cheese, mayonnaise, and pickles. I should've asked for the burger well done because it was a little pink on the inside but, still edible. The fries were good and crispy and their sauce I got was good, not great not terrible but good. Would I come back here? Yes, hopefully customer service will be top notch the next time, the employee behind the counter didn't seem like they wanted to be there and will remember to ask for my burger well done next time.

Exterior of the building. As of 8/7/22 - they are closed on Sundays

We had a couple cocktails in here and the service was excellent even though it appeared they were filled to capacity. There were 4 of us in our party and we were seated at a table in the corner near the bar. Was definitely a cozy spot with so many people being in there and the bar being full. I had The Holy Ghost cocktail and it was a pomegranate hibiscus sour, it had just the right amount of sour! I do not like bitter drinks and this one was good and easy to drink. My husband had a couple of dark beers, I do not remember which ones but he liked them. They had a nice outdoor area but it was a bit too cool for that but it may be worth a return in the Spring to check it out. Bathroom was also really cool as the decor and theme spilled over into it. We will be back.

I had no idea the veggie burger was the one featured on the show, so as a vegetarian, I was especially excited to try it. I swapped the veggie patty onto the Mushroom & Swiss burger, and it was hands down the best veggie burger I've had in the decade I've been vegetarian. Our group all ordered different burgers, along with the fries and Brussels sprouts, and every single plate was a hit. They have super unique sauces to try as well, I am not a huge pickle fan but the dill pickle hot sauce was my personal favorite. I also recommend grabbing a brown butter toffee cookie on your way out. The restaurant has a fun, laid-back atmosphere with great music, colorful murals, a lively bar area, and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives playing on the TVs, which was a nice touch. It's also located in a cute part of downtown Louisville that's worth exploring. The service matched the food. Everyone was welcoming, happy to answer our questions, and made sure we had everything we needed. This will definitely be on my list for a return visit the next time I'm in Louisville.

Instead of the usual fries, you can choose from a salad, fruit cup, edamame, and other fresh sides, which is a nice change. I had the crispy chicken sandwich, and it was perfectly crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. Drink refills are free, which is always appreciated. The only small inconvenience is that you have to ask an employee for a refill since the drink station isn't easily accessible. It would be even more convenient if the drink machine were located in an area where customers could refill their own drinks. Overall, the food, value, and service make this an easy 5-star experience. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.
