Our lunch group of 7 stopped by midweek and ordered burgers, turkey club sandwiches, and chicken sandwiches with sides of fries and sweet potato fries. Everyone was happy. My turkey club sandwich was dressed with lettuce, tomato, and avocado slices on a soft bun. The turkey portion was a patty similar to a burger. My sweet potato fries came with a side of honey. Staff at the ordering counter were all friendly and welcoming. This restaurant is accompanied by several others in a food hall setting. Slide up glass garage doors are situated around a fairly large food hall. My only complaint was the temperature of the food hall being cool and overhead fans blowing intensely. The last time I ate at Bunz was at their original location next to Wick's Pizza on Baxter Ave. In my search for the current best hamburger in town, I thought it was time to pay a visit to the Paristown location. We looked at the menu online. Looked like there were good options at reasonable prices. But when we arrived we realized the prices were higher than their website. We ordered two Santa Fe burgers, onion rings, and French fries. At $12.50 for the burger I was expecting something very good. After a short wait in the cafeteria style seating, our name was called and we picked up our order. The fries and onion rings looked great. The fries were crispy but nothing to write home about. The onion rings, prepared perfectly, light, and not plagued by the problem where the batter separates from the onion with each bite. Now for the burger. Ironically for a place called Bunz, terrible bun. Soggy, void of any real quality. I would guess that the reason the bun was soggy is that the burger was packaged in foil. The burger patty itself didn't look hand-pattied, more frozen premade patty. The toppings were fine. There was some sort of "Big Mac" sauce on the burger. All in all, it's a very fast food-ish experience at an elevated price. I wouldn't put Bunz in a league with say Toasty's, Grind or Brass social. read more

We came here on our road trip and had a hard time finding it as it was inside a building with different little restaurants but parking was abundant. The menu has tons of customizable options and the prices are great. Our order was taken without any issues and came out super fast. This place is AMAZING if I could give 6 stars I would. The frys were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The burger was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. The signature sauce has quite a kick which I LOVE. The bacon cheese frys were genuinely the best I've ever had, they make wendys seem terrible. The bacon was crunchy and full of flavor and the cheese was super tasty. The other places were not very busy but he always had customers. This man was full force working hard. I got a dish from each place. This came Niagara Fallsing out of my Bunz. I came in on a Friday night, granted, there was not a show going on at the time so it wasn't busy (this is next to Paristown Hall), but they had one dude working, no hairnet or nothing. There were maybe four people waiting on food. I ordered ahead and my food took almost 30 minutes to be prepared, I was going on a picnic date, so I didn't check the food because I was just ready to go on my date. Fast forward ten minutes to the date, we get to the spot (she got Shahar, 5/5 place if you're looking for vegan cuisine), the spot is beautiful, we're having a great time. I open the food, having ordered a custom burger, and I believe either my burger got swapped with someone else's (unlikely given the amount of people), or, the guy was just lazy and made one of their standard burgers, it was 'The Beer Cheese' or some derivative of it. I think it was supposed to be a smash burger? The meat was unseasoned, totally bland, and too dry even for smash burger standards. It basically crumbled if you touched it. The beer cheese had almost zero flavor, just some heat, it also looked like it got scraped out of a baby's diaper if their diet was nothing but bananas and Cheerios. I got the bacon cheese fries as well, which, not really any complaints, they were decent, nothing to write home about or go back for. Only leaving two stars because the guy was polite. If you're running a restaurant, you should always have at a minimum, two people in there, it significantly improves wait times, order accuracy, and overall service. TLDR: I'm writing this from my toilet fighting for my life, order was wrong, not enough staff, food was bland and perhaps a little old? Guy was polite though so... two stars. read more

Now located in a smaller building in the same area and Paristown, used to be on Baxter. It shares a space with other restaurants and a full bar inside. There is a lot of seating inside. I ordered just a burger and fries with a drink. Basically a build your own burger. I got a double burger with American Cheese, mayonnaise, and pickles. I should've asked for the burger well done because it was a little pink on the inside but, still edible. The fries were good and crispy and their sauce I got was good, not great not terrible but good. Would I come back here? Finally, the stars aligned, we jumped in the car, & made our way over to Bunz, excited as ever to eat one of their big juicy burgers. We arrived around 3:00pm on a Sunday. I'd been hearing about this hole-in-the-wall restaurant for a while but just visited the other day. It was a Tuesday past 1pm. There were maybe two others dining in and as we sat, more came in for their lunch break as well as some younger people who perhaps were volunteering nearby. It's not a huge space. There were about 4 high tables to sit at, some high chairs by the window, and a few tables outside. The tables don't seat more than 3 or 4, so we let the big group of volunteers take over the place after we ate, since they needed at least 6 seats. The ceilings are high though. With the black and white tile, red walls, and Japanese manga on the walls, I couldn't tell what kind of theme they were going for. They make the order as soon as you've given it to the guy at the register. There were only two workers, but they worked pretty quickly. Since the kitchen is just at the register, your clothes will end up having the smell of food on them by the time you leave. I ordered the Lexington Roadhouse, which had BBQ sauce, a fried onion ring, cheddar, hold the pepper jack. It was a little lacking in flavor. It's not a heavy burger and they butter the bun. My friend got the Californian with a veggie patty. It had Swiss, avocado, and mayo. It was well seasoned! My other friend built her own. Just a single patty with tomato, lettuce, and the Bunz sauce (Cajun mayo). The entrees don't come with sides so we added a basket of sweet potato fries with honey. The crunch was perfect! I'm curious about building my own burger next time. Or trying other burger options. Parking is parallel, but it's no trouble to find around here. We stopped in here and they have 5 different Venues for food and beverages under one roof, it's a more industrial chic atmosphere and you can see all 5 venues kinda like a food court but not the mall kind at all. Of course we chose three different places here to grab things to eat and this was our first. The service is friendly and very pleasant to talk to. On my most recent trip visiting my Dad in Louisville, I was craving a burger, and put my detective skills to work to find the best place; which landed on Bunz Burgerz. Parking: Parking we found pretty easy right on the street. When you walk in your greeted at small counter with a very small kitchen/grill behind. I'm not going to lie it almost made us walk out for the lack of cleanliness, and the lack of attention to hand washing between the register and food. (I guess I was feeling more risky, then my Dad that day.) Order: I ordered the Beer Cheese Burger, and an order of fries. The meal took about 10-15 minutes to be prepared. Food: The burger was frickin' huge. I'm a big eater, and could barely finish the burger. The burger had plenty of flavor with a nice touch of the beer cheese. I am really disappointed more reviews don't start with Sir Mix-a-lot lyrics. Do better, Yelpers. I went the first time with Frank and he got a turkey burger, I got a beef one. The beef was great. I tried Frank's and it was excellent. It was something I have thought about for a while and I have gone back a couple of times since and gotten the turkey burger. I am an avid and enthusiastic beef eater. This turkey burger wasn't dry and was very flavorful. Any burger can be a turkey burger if you ask. There are decent french fries as well as other sides, excellent service, and several variant burgers with a build-your-own option. I haven't built my own yet because I am working my way around their menu. So far the "Baxter Avenue" is a favorite. There are also vegetarian options but I am unsure if there are vegan options for those of you who count attention and being smug as food groups. Pretty darn good burger. I ordered the Santa Fe which has avocado, pepper jack cheese and bacon along with the typical burger toppings, lettuce and tomato. I expected the avocado to be slices by was surprised to find out that it was more of a guacamole spread which I wasn't mad about. The fries were also tasty. We saw on morning TV where Bunz had a new location, the Paristown Village Market, a much more sizable venue than the original location on Baxter in the Highlands. The weather was outstanding, low 70's not much wind and just prior to sunset. It was a great time to visit. We parked across the street and strolled in. Several food choices are available; Phillipino, Taco, Chicken and Burgers. Across the way was Jeff's Donuts and a bar area. All three of us went went with burgers; a plain one, one with swiss cheese and mine with pepper jack, pickle, lettuce, mayo and tomato and sided that with an order of fries and an onion ring. I went brain dead when ordering and did not get a side, probably better anyway, I got to snarf off the others. Ordering is todays modern convenience TOAST ordering system, with an instant message telling you the order is ready. That was about 7 minutes after taking our seat outside. The whole food area is well laid out with open doors to the picnic tables outside. Just adjacent is an outdoor music area with stage and turfed viewing area. Many workers were getting prepped for an event tomorrow. Across the way is the new indoor music venue Old Forestor Paristown Hall. The burgers were really good, just like our last time visiting. A sizable smash burger with a bit of thickness. Good quality beef and a good bun. Judging by most people's plates Bunz was winning the popularity contest among the other establishments there. The Onion Rings were a beer batter type, good crunch and taste, especially with the dipping sauce. This sauce was not the usual "fry sauce" kinda concoction, with that horsey bite to it. Very similar but really smooth and it worked just as well with the fries. We polished off the burgers for the most part. We wrapped the dinner with a cinnamon sugar twist donut and a chocolate twist thing at Jeff's Donuts. Its great to see this area getting spruced up. For a long time there are some really neat buildings from days of the past that just sort of moved through history with little love. This venue is a very bright idea in an area that could jump up a few more octaves when the old Baptist Hospital grounds get developed. Bunz nailed the burgers, we'll be back. read more

Very hipster, hella good burgers. It was Fat Tuesday and I was craving something mighty and meaty. I had drove past Bunz multiple times, but never thought to go in. The restaurant is a lot smaller than I assumed, with four tables on the inside. The inside was a little dirty; The floors look like they needed to be swept and every empty table had crumbs all over it. Bunz is counter service, so I stood at the counter waiting to order until someone came around about 5 minutes later. I ordered a double burger with cheesy bacon fries. Didn't take too long to come out, but boy was that a big burger! I wished I had gone with the single, as I couldn't even finish my double, but it was sooo good. It was juicy, meaty....just what I needed right before a season of giving up meat! The cheesy bacon fries were top notch, I actually like how the cheese seemed to be baked into the fries rather than just processed cheese from a can. The employee working there at the time seemed like he could care less to be there. It seemed like everytime he took care of a customer, he disappeared for a bit. He also stood at the counter and talked to his friend on the phone for a good 20 minutes. Kinda unprofessional.
