The husband's first time dining in at Homeslice and he was more than impressed. We stayed with salads - dining in means a fancy bowl of salad instead of a plastic to go container - it did not disappoint! I got 3 bacon and cheddar pizza balls with ranch - amazing as always. He got a double pepperoni and onion personal pizza and 6 boneless wings with fries. All the food came out hot and fresh and is definitely better when you dine in (although the to go food has always been hot, it's just not the same as dining in). I finished with the garlic cinnamon knots - my only complaint is the icing is vanilla and not cream cheese, but the knots were so sauced in cinnamon sugar it didn't matter. When I moved away years ago, this place was going to be one of the spots that I missed the most. Simply because of just the pizza balls! While I've always wanted to explore the menu more, these are so good. You can't pass them up so I ended up getting them every single time I went. I've now moved back to town and at least to start the selection hasn't changed lol. I made a visit here and as I mentioned, got the pizza balls again. It had been many years so I had to indulge. They were as good as I remember! My favorite has always been the pepperoni ones. Make sure you get these with the marinara sauce, it's a great combination to dip the ball in this sauce They also have the bacon and cheddar, which is also a good option. I have ordered from this location twice and both times the crust has been burnt. The second time I specifically made a point to ask for a lite bake and they burnt it and still delivered it. The "manager" said he'd send me a gift card and I went without lunch. Poor business practice to not check orders before they go out. read more

In the interim we 've often dined in/out at New York Pizza on Battleground ... which has been excellent On April 30 we once again tried Home Slice. The the large cheese pizza was terrible The crust was TOUGH ... like chewing on leather. Never again ! Though there were leftovers ... we dumped it. We'll stick with New York Pizza. read more

Used to love this spot but it's in hard decline. As of a couple of weeks ago they've now switched to DoorDash delivery instead of their own drivers so you can expect your delivery to be missing items (my delivery today was missing all of our drinks) and the handoff to be... questionable. My DoorDash driver today had 4 kids and 2 dogs (including 1 aggressive Pit Bull) in the car with her. Unsurprisingly my food smells like wet dog so I was forced to trash it because the delivery was completely unsanitary. Called the place and they can't offer refunds or really do anything to help WHEN, not IF, your order goes wrong. Switching to DoorDash is a big part of the reason the PizzaHut across the street has such terrible reviews. Anyway... avoid this place like the plague if you want delivery. Carryout is probably still okay but it's clearly on the downswing so I'd be looking for alternate options if I were you. This was a great surprise, we were pinched for time and needed something quick since we got into town late. Their online ordering system is quick and easy and the food was great! The chicken bacon ranch pizza was different but good. I would have preferred it to have been a bit more crunchy but the way they had it was okay. I live close to this restaurant and want it to be successful. The food is very good. I'm very fond of their Italian sub. Still they engage a business practice that makes me think twice about going back. That practice is, asking for a tip. The staff doesn't verbally ask, they ask by swinging the POS screen around requiring a selection of gratuity percentage, or no gratuity. Particularly galling is that the ask occurs prior to any service being given. Keep in mind that this restaurant only offers, "counter-service." The inference is that the food quality, and quality of counter-service I suppose, is affected by the tip, or, lack there of. I cannot support a business that engaged is this practice. read more

We came here for a saturday lunch. There was only one group eating at a table an no one waiting in line to order food. No one greeted us or said hey. We looked at the menu for a few minutes and someone from the food line yelled out if we were ready or not. We ordered a small pizza, wings (hot) and an italian sub. The pizza was good but could of been cooked a bit longer, the toppings were still a bit raw. The wings were very good and crispy. We did not like the hot sauce because it tasted very buttery so we asked for the hotter sauce. The sub was good. The spicy peppers paired well with it but I wish they didn't toast the bread. I've frequented HS many times, and after my latest visit I was inspired to share my visit. During this whole pandemic situation, we've been mostly cooking at home, but the burnout finally toppled our desire to cook/clean, so we decided to brave public. We ordered the large 1 topping for $12 deal. The topping was pepperoni, obviously. I also added a side of their fried mushrooms. When I placed the order, the lady kept cutting me off in an attempt to end the call. When I tried to add the mushrooms, she implied the mushrooms would be added to the pizza, which caused confusion. When I attempted to get clarification, she made the situation more confusing, and was flat rude. She never asked my name, never read my order back to me, and ended the call by hanging up on me. To allow someone to run wild like this is a fail on her, a fail on management, and a fail on homeslice pizza. If this was my employee, I would have fired her on the spot, without a second thought. Upon pickup, it was obvious the same person checked us out, that took our order. Equally rude in person. Just a flat out terrible person. When we got the pizza home, we were thoroughly disappointed. It was obvious this pizza was sitting out for a while. The bottom was so burnt, it went to the trash. Never again will I support this pizzeria. This has not been a great value day, food-wise for me. After being pretty much hosed, price wise, at a local Greek restaurant we frequently used to go to, we decided to order delivery for us and family members watching the UNC-WF game from this other local, neighborhood restaurant. Our 17" pizza - half veggie, half cheese/pepperoni - was billed at $23.25 - $12.75 for the cheese pizza, and $1.75 for 6 more items. In addition, we were billed $5.95 for Chicken Fingers we ordered, but did not receive. So, in the final analysis, we paid $29.20 for a 17" pizza, and no chicken fingers. While I am not price driven on restaurant food, I am not obliviously to it either. Bottom line; I placed a $60.74 order for which I received far less than that in value - I will not place any order, of any value, with this restaurant again - I have too many choices to settle for this - I like to support local restaurants, but it is very much a two-way street - local restaurants need to value their customers with good service, and good value, and provide people trained to accurately take and fill a telephone order. read more

After meeting the owner today as we walked in, and the guys/gals behind the counter, the friendly customer service grabs you the moment you walk in! First, it's not traditional NY thin crust pizza. But why does it have to be? It's kind of a cross between NY thin and Sicilian dough in the fact that it's a little thicker with a chewy light crust! The star of the show here is the Pizza balls. These golden nuggets of fried dough wrapped around super creamy mozzarella and pepperoni are pizza junkie heaven in a compact form. Dip em in a little marinara... and boom, you've got the tastiest pepperoni pizza you've ever had (just make sure you let them cool down a bit first or you might get a hot grease squirt!). They also now offers a bacon and cheddar ball, but I still prefer the original. If they are looking for ideas for a different flavor ball... I would tell them to use some of their garlic knot paste and roll that up with Parmesan and mozzarella before going in the frier. Anyway, they sell them for a dollar a piece on Thursdays, and four of them is going to leave you quite full for very little cash. One thing I can say to those who doubt the price point is that these guys are definitely using a higher quality cheese than many places around here, also, given the over-saturation of New York (City) style places in Greensboro, it doesn't surprise me some people are a bit more put off by the doughier buffalo style. Homeslice has two food trucks in addition to its multiple locations. The trucks can be seen tooling around the Triad, parked at festivals and other outdoor events. That was how I was first introduced to the glory of the famed Pizza Ball (more on that in a moment). The commitment to excellent pizza, wings and subs has me going back for more time and time again. The Pizza Ball is a tennis ball-size round of dough wrapped around pepperoni and cheese or just mozzarella cheese and served with ranch dressing or housemade marinara sauce. The whole thing is deep-fried and while the outer layer of the ball is crisp, golden brown and slightly flaky the crust gives way to a soft, buttery and yeasty filling which is brimming with hot, melty cheese and spicy pepperoni slices, if you so choose. Wednesday is the best day to order one because the pizza balls are sold at a discount. Be prepared to wait. The basic white pizza is my favorite: slivers of garlic; dollops of fresh ricotta; bright, crisp florets of broccoli; and slices of sweet, juicy Roma tomatoes. The crust is an excellent intersection between a thin crust and a fluffy, thick Sicilian. The outer edge of the crust simply melds into the base of the pizza. Although traditional thin pepperoni is available, there is a specialty pepperoni topping that isn't listed and only people in the know ask for: the cup-and-char pepperoni or Buffalo pepperoni. read more

Simply put, Homeslice makes a very good pizza. I got the thin crust, and it was VERY thin all the way to the edge. The sauce was good but may have leaned toward what I call dark and heavy--but it was good. The toppings tasted great, too, though the mushrooms may have been a little chewy.
