Our first priority was a new TV and a new receiver and getting confirmation this team could do the work. Well, they can and not only can they do most anything you need, they do it with patience, lots of grace, a sense of humor, total dedication to perfection and without ripping you off. Once you start talking to the people who work here you will find that most of them have been there for over a decade and some of them have been there almost two decades and that's because they love what they do and it shows in every aspect of this process. We had an initial consultation which they credit back to you if you have the work done and then we made our choices with tons of guidance based on our budget and needs. The team came on the day of install and they were clean, professional, knowledgeable and just plain good guys. We had one little hiccup after they left and they immediately came back and fixed it. We started with Quincy in the store to pick out the TV and eventually started working with Alex for the entire set up and he sticks with you through everything until the very end, even follow ups. He's easy to get a hold of and responds directly. Lloyd came to do the once over for install and the guys who came to do the work were Desmond and Alan. I really can't recommend them enough and they made what we thought was going to be a difficult and hard experience something that we quite enjoyed and we are super happy with the end result. Here's hoping it lasts at least another ten years!

At the point of sale he said that the Best Buy membership was on sale and the annual fee reduced to $180 would result in a 2 year warranty for the price of one year, and I had the membership perks such as 60 day return window. This was $199 after tax. After returning home I did more research and found the warranty lasts only as long as the membership is active, so I had been purposefully deceived by the salesman. I went back to the store and was able to get a refund for the membership and then paid outright for the 2 year warranty for $180. No tax on this warranty so I had saved $19 by just paying for the warranty instead. Deceitful sales practices at this store so beware.

We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

I had them replace an older Aiphone intercom with Unifi access and they came and installed a Unifi door reader, cleaned up my door strikes, installed a unifi in wall in a rental unit so we could pass through an additional POE port to a Unifi intercom and then came up with an idea to consolidate my networking gear in my garage so I changed scope after day 1 to include that and also setup a gate hub automation. I also had them do a new cat6 run and they did a great job with that as well as patching up the holes from older cables. Great communication - they know their networking and Unifi gear and I would recommend to others looking for ethernet/wireless/security cameras and expertise with Unifi gear.

I unexpectedly had to stop the work midway through the installation, and they were extremely understanding. They even declined payment when I offered to compensate them for the interruption. They returned the very next day, finished everything, and did an excellent job. I now have blazing-fast, reliable internet throughout my condo, and the gateway they installed has great features, including built-in ad blocking. Honest, knowledgeable, responsive, and professional. I would highly recommend Cable Schmable.

I requested a quote to install three TVs and provided a clear, written scope room by room, with…read morephotos. All communication was in writing only. There was no phone call and no additional scope discussed beyond what was explicitly outlined. The scope also specified the exact equipment to be used: two manufacturer-included mounts and one standard off-the-shelf mount already owned and being used in another room. No custom mounting or fabrication was requested. To be clear, all major electrical work had already been completed by a licensed electrician prior to this visit, including an in-wall media box and power where applicable. The written scope did not include infrastructure planning, signal design, or custom fabrication. The work requested was limited to: Mounting three TVs In-wall cable concealment on two TVs using existing wall paths/media boxes One new in-wall outlet (clearly called out and requested to be included in the quote) No drywall repair, no structural work, no permitting Despite this clearly defined written scope, the estimate was later characterized as covering "custom mounting," "infrastructure planning," and other items that were not part of the work requested and were never discussed. The quote came in at roughly 10× higher than multiple other licensed and insured installers for the same scope. The public response provided appeared to be boilerplate and did not address the specific written scope. It even referenced "[X] years of experience" without a number filled in, which suggested the response was copied without reviewing the details of this project. Before deciding, I verified licensing through the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) using the business name listed on their website. The CSLB records show the associated contractor licenses as expired, with a status stating the license is "expired and not able to contract at this time." Screenshots are included. For additional context, California limits unlicensed or handyman work to projects of $1,000 or less. Being quoted $5,000 for this scope made the pricing and justification even more difficult to reconcile. Experience and tools matter, but pricing and representations should align with the actual written scope of work and current licensing status. Attention to details matter as well, not clearly understanding the SOW, rushing quotes, and replies. Replying without understanding the issues. I will not being doing business with Basil as trust is important. I recommend getting multiple quotes, keeping scope in writing, and independently verifying license status before proceeding.

This last service visit this past week was the final straw and we will be replacing our blinds so that we will never have to deal with Hermary's again. The technician they did not manage to fix our issue and said he was not a blinds person (yeah...). Then he managed to destroy one of the blinds by letting it roll up unevenly--it is not unusable and the tech could not fix it. Do NOT use Hermary's.

He started with my home 10 years ago and did a terrible job AKA total hack job so I ended up taking him to court and we worked it out.. Stupid me ran into him again 3 years ago and ended up having him do my business cameras 3 years ago and his work quality got much better but he was very expensive but I gave him the job for he seemed eager to please me. I had everything in writing along with a 3 year warrenty on parts and labor along with support if any was needed. Well I needed some support and after 20 calls he finally half way answered my questions and I ended up figuring the rest out myself. I had a bad camera like a year ago and he refused to replace it until I showed him the contract and threatened court again, he finally fixed it after many calls. I still have like 6 months left on my warrenty now and he told me if anyone else touched my cameras my warrenty would be no good. I needed to add 6 cameras and he gave me a quote for 3900.00 and we negotiated it to 3500.00 then he changed his mind and insisted on the 3900.00. I Agreed to pay the higher quote as I was stuck although not comfortable at all working with him any longer. He did the install using 6 pixel cameras and cat 5 in which both are way out dated along with running bare cat 5 wire over 100 feet to feed a camera as all my other wires are in conduit. I went to inspect the job and told him that he could not run bare wire and demanded he put the wire in conduit and looked at his work for he drilled in the top of a waterproof box and made the hole to big and did not use proper fasteners and used bathroom caulking to seal the hole and just threw the 8 port switch in the box along with the electrical and left. It rained that day and I asked him to go back and reseal the box properly and to make sure all the equipment was dry. He said he did and I didn't trust him so I went out to inspect the box to see he did not reseal the box properly and the inside was all wet and condensation everywhere. I told him he did a terrible job and did not want to pay the balance until he fixed it properly. He told me if I didn't he would go tear out all the equipment and sent me nasty videos. I called the Police and they told me to pay him and sue him. I paid him and told him to go fix my box several times as he never did. He went on vacation and all the new cameras went down while he is currently on vacation as I contacted him and he told me I had to wait until March 6 when he gets back.... I told him he is f ing crazy to get someone out here now and he told me he is a one man show LOL wonder why?? I told him I was gonna have someone else come fix it and bill him. He agreed to reimburse me 200.00 for the service call. I had it fixed by a professional company that charged me 200.00 for the call and 150.00 to replace the 8 port that got wet along with fixing several of his cables that were not secure and flimsy n falling apart (See Pics of Marcos work of the box before and after it was properly done). I called Marco and he refused to pay for the guy to come out So were gonna take this whole thing to Judge Judy and see what she says!!! I felt it's not safe anywhere these days whether you live in a good or bad area. I agreed on a Sunday and by Friday's evening he sent Bryan out to get the alarm system installed. It took couple hours to get it done but it was worth the wait. I'm not good with remembering things and illiterate when it comes to handling high tech device but Bryan was so patience with me and taught me over and over again to remember how to use it. I'll likely forget soon but he said feel free to call him if I have any questions or concern. I'm very happy with the services I received from Josh and Bryan and deserved a 5 star rating.

Mario did a good job with TV installation. But more importantly Mario was pleasent person to deal…read morewith. He was wearing mask, kept his mask during entire installation period. He kept his calm in trying to fix screw related issues which was some kind of manufacturing issues. He was able to fix it. That was really cool. Thank you. Highly recommended especially because of his reasonable rates. He even went down from his initial quote a when he felt it didn't involve as much work since we had already prepped and ready.

Thank you so much he was awesome!…read more We have just moved in to our apt and desperately needed our TVs mounted, I've contacted other business and most were not being straight to the point and wanted to over charge during this time with covid which is ridiculous to me but he didn't over charge us and mounted our TVs in our front room and our bedroom and we feel so much better! He did an awesome job from start to finish from being on time and I mean exactly on time from securely mounting the TVs and making sure they were leveled constantly which is important to someone as myself with ocd LOL! Most importantly he was being safe and wearing his mask!! He's also so friendly we had some fun convos. If you need a handy man defiantly contact him he knows what he's doing and doesn't waste time!
