USED to be $2, now more like $5+ depending on customization. This place also does a breakfast plate: Super Crispy hash brown on the bottom, eggs/omelette next, topped with protein like bacon, sausage or corned beef, and toast. WINNER Da Grub: two plates: crispy hashbrowns, topped with Florentine Omelet (Spinach, tomato, feta), side of sausage and toast for da Wife... I go MONSTER, tend to do this when ordering online: hashbrowns AND Corned Beef Hash on the bottom, topped with Denver Omelet, bacon and toast. WHAT?! Da Service: Placed the order online, walked down, literally next door to the Library Hotel. They didn't prep it till I checked in, 6 people in front of me, but it went QUICK, they have their system down. You walk up, pick: plate or sandwich, eggs, protien, toast. Step to the side, wait about 2-3 min, it's bagged and ready for you to pay. Don't take too long pickin your customizations... you'll hear about it from someone in line behind you. One guy was asking too many questions about the bagels, pointed to an onion roll (bialy) and someone in line said loudly "if it don't look good enough to eat, pick something else!"... it was the equivalent of honking in traffic to keep things movin'! Wandered in this morning. Got a cappuccino (the sugary machine kind) and an oatmeal with fruit. Prices were cheap. Credit card minimum is only $3 which was a welcoming change from most places in the city. Food tasted as expected. I was super impressed with how well the employees knew their customers and how loyal and responsive the customers were to staff. In midtown it's so rare to get a chopped salad for under $10, but at this deli, where there it's never a line, you can choose one meat and six vegetables with your choice of lettuce chopped up for $7.60. Came here during my lunch break. After reading many reviews I decided on the Athena Wrap. It was delicious. It came in a standard wrap with chicken, peppers, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese and tzatziki white sauce. A little heavy handed on the white sauce (and I love sauce) but very fresh and filling. I hate half and was full so I disagree with some of the other reviewers who claim the portion is too small. This place was much more affordable than others in the area and they take cards ($3 min). It's not the prettiest place but it definitely got the job done. This is a great convenient deli located across the street from my old office. They offer a variety of breakfast and lunch foods. Their bagels are fantastic, better than average deli bagels, and come with a healthy (IE not healthy) serving of butter if you order them that way for less than $2. They also serve omelette platter which come with potatoes and sliced toast for less than $6, which is a very reasonably price for midtown (favorite omelette platter is the Florentine which comes with feta cheese and spinach). Their sandwiches are hearty and offer you really good value for your money. You'll frequently see construction workers coming for lunch and breakfast, which is a good sign that you've chosen a good bargain place in midtown. The guys who work there are friendly and may begin to remember your orders or preferences (white toast vs whole wheat etc.) if you go there frequently enough. read more

I like this place. I feel like you can never get cheated here. Good portions and pretty much always less than $6. The Roman is a go to sandwich. Its basically just a regular Italian sub, but its good, its big and its inexpensive. If you're more adventerous, definitely try the hot sandwiches. The sliced steak is amazing. read more

I've eaten here maybe 3 times a week since I started working 2 doors down... the food I've had has all been good (Pastrami/Corned Beef Rueben, Caribbean Jerk Chicken and Chicken Parm). The prices are excellent for the area. I think the most I've spent was $11 and that got me a rueben, a side of spinach pie and 2 cans of soda. They are quick, reliable, reasonably priced, tasty and you can customize your lunch any way you like. All time favorites: Athena Chicken Wrap (very-very good), Sierra Chicken Wrap, Mediterranean Chicken Wrap, Greek Salad with chicken or without, meatloaf. If extremely hungry I order a small Greek salad with my Athena wrap. So good! The service is very friendly, especially in the hot/grill section. The line gets pretty long during lunch hours, and a bit confusing since there is a Hot line and Cold line. you just gotta go in a ask people in front of you what line they're on and pick. The Hot gets you tasty burgers, gyros and cheesesteaks with really good fries or rings. The cold line gets you the best chicken salad, cesar salad, and wraps. Cheap midtown deli. The employees are nice. Their veggie cream cheese is bland; BUT their pastrami on a roll is juicy and tender and their jerk chicken sandwich with pineapples is delicious [if only it also came with jalapenos]. And while its a small detail, I like that their pickles are actually crispy and good, and not just one of those cheap gross pickles no one wants to eat - and they give lots of napkins knowing their stuffed sandwiches will be messy. I used to work on this block many moons ago, but I still think about it from time to time. This little tiny place is always jam packed at lunch time. They have a great assembly line setup though so you're usually in and out relatively quickly. The pricing here was pretty aggressive given that it's at an odd location... one block away from grand central, but this spot doesn't get much foot traffic. I absolutely loved their reuben sandwiches... one of nyc's best kept secrets in my opinion. The hot pastrami was pretty good here but their corned beef shines. When I got on a health kick, I got their grilled chicken wraps on a daily basis and occasionally would splurge and get the Sierra wrap. I was never a big fan of their potato or macaroni salad....but I don't like that sorta stuff in general. In the rare occasions that I got breakfast, I always walked away with a huge smile. read more

The staff is friendly, the food seems to be fresh and the prices are very reasonable for midtown. Two eggs, turkey and cheese on a roll for 3 bucks! It can be nuts-to-butts during lunch, so it's best to go after 1, if possible, when it's not crazy-busy. There's plenty on the menu to choose from for under $7. They turkey burger is pretty good once you find it under the heaping pile of fries! They definitely don't hold back on the sides. However ,the only thing I've ever ordered from here is the Greek Salad with chopped cihcken on top (at least 3 dozen times) This salad is enough for 2 lunches in theory...that is if you can stop eating it. Overall, this place is a very good lunch spot to pick up. Breakfast is cheap and delicious, too. You have to be aware of the hot line and cold line, but once you know where you're going and what to get, it's a favorite. The food is well-priced, but i recommend ordering one of the specials on the wall, or you'll be hit with lettuce and tomato costs (which is a ridiculous trait of many NYC delis). However, I will not order fries or a burger ever again. The food itself is good, but the packets of ketchup are the worst that i've ever tasted in my entire life. In an attempt to cut costs, this place switched from standard Heinz to Chef's Quality Ketchup. How could this company produce such a product? Didn't they factor in taste, texture, color, consistency, packaging, or quantity?
