I called HomePro to get an estimate of the cost of replacing one large vinyl window. When we talked, which I did very little of, I listened and took notes as to process of how HomePro would proceed. I didn't have too many questions, due to the thorough job the owner did on his presentation of information. The issues that made me stop and reconsider using HomePro were the over-confidence of the owner. I felt a bit talked down to at times, as if I had not done by research about the cost of materials, labor and attention to details. The other reason was the cost. Much like most of the reviews listed here, I found myself in an unexpected mess of severe weather damage to the structure of my home. I will spare the details of my unfortunate situation and will focus on the pleasant experience I had with this company. I was surprised to know that when I called for my initial inquiry that I was speaking directly to the owner. Matt is extremely knowledgeable and explained everything to me very thoroughly. He took his time and answered all of my questions and didn't rush me off the phone or speak to me as if I was incompetent. (I have had the happen multiple times with other companies) By the end of the conversation I felt as if I had been his client for years. My repair took 1 month to complete due to the extensive and unexpected damage. I was informed of every new discovery and process every step of the way. The crew was amazing. They were always respectful of my property, inside and outside of my home. Even taking their shoes off inside. They did a great job at cleaning up at the end of each day and kept their supplies organized when not working. It was clear that they valued not only their quality of work but also valued my home and my time as if it was theirs. They were on time everyday and worked the entire time with reasonable breaks when needed. They worked efficiently and completed the project even sooner than I expected. The quality of work goes above and beyond. You may think they are a bit more pricy then other companies out there but you really do get what you pay for here. Peace of mind that it was done correctly, the sustainability and the quality of workmanship is worth every penny to me. Our trusted handyman admitted he was not prepared to address a persistent leak from underneath our patio cover. We called the company that installed it, but they were out of business. After searching for a reliable company to troubleshoot, estimate and fix a troublesome leak between our French door and the patio cover, we found HomePro and we are so happy that we found them! Matt provided us with a probable reason for the leak and initial thoughts on how to correct it. His team followed up with an onsite review and written estimate. Matt explained the process to fix the leak very well. Most impressive is HomePro's focus on setting expectations - we understood that the initial estimate may be low if the water damage was more extensive. Then the team got to work fixing the problems. HomePro was able to complete the work well within the time frame they had scheduled. We asked them to fix some other dry rot, and they were able to knock that out quickly. The only challenging thing about working with HomePro is that they are so good - they are also so busy - we had to wait nearly 6 months, but it was worth the wait. I swore I already wrote a review for HomePro but I guess I didn't. I just realized this when looking for their contact information so I could refer a friend to them. In 2014 we decided to put new vinyl siding on our home in Rancho Cordova. We contacted about 5 different places and got bids from 3 different contractors. We chose Matt at Home Pro because of how thorough he was on our estimate. We felt that there wouldn't be many if any surprises in the end. And there wasn't. I will say that he was a tiny bit more expensive than the other two bids but definitely worth it. Another thing that stood out when we got our estimate that unlike the other guys he did not subcontract, all of the men who do the job are his actual employees. Which meant if they didn't do their job they wouldn't have one. Our job was complete a few days behind schedule but they were VERY THOROUGH... The attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The guys were all very courteous and always arrived promptly. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves, in fact my backyard was cleaner after they left than it was before. He also provides a transferable warranty which was great because we ended up unexpectedly moving in November of 2014 to be closer to my family after the passing of my mother. The warranty was a great selling point and the woman who purchased the property commented on how nice the siding was. We also got a lot of compliments from our neighbors. I had a window and wall in need of some stucco work which had languished for about a year due to the inability to find someone to do a small job combined with my pathetic procrastination. I thought I had found a guy about 4 months ago but he totally flaked and did a couple of no shows. I was fed up and decided to take my chances on the yellow pages. HomePRO caught my eye because they had a little box ad in the yellow pages which linked their small website. This gave me a bit of confidence that they were not some fly-by-night operation. They checked out OK on BBB and contractor's license, so I gave them a call. I left my name and number with the lady who answered and received a call back from Matt, the owner, the same day. He was courteous, polite, and very helpful. A real pleasure to work with. I suspect they are a small mom & pop kind of operation, and the lady who answered was Matt's wife. He had his stucco guy come take a look the same day and gave me a quote on the phone the next day. The quote was reasonable and I didn't want to lose someone willing to do a small job so I said "Deal, I'll take it". They were able to start the next day, so the entire process from start to finish took about 4 days, which I consider record time given the flakiness of past prospects. The stucco guy ended up overseeing his son and some other young guys (late high school?) do most of the work. I wasn't sure how good the kids would be at first, and was a little nervous, but they did a fine job and the end result looked great. Payment wasn't due at time of completion, and Matt sent me a bill for me to pay later. The only thing I would ding them on was the lack of follow up on whether everything was fine and I was satisfied with the job (but granted, my job was a small job, around $500). read more

My experience with HomePRO is a perfect example of a company exceeding my expectations. I did some digging online for a company that could do some quick, professional stucco repair on the back of my house. I'd been burned once before by a contractor who never showed, but after hearing some good things about HomePRO from another yelper I decided to give them a shot. Matt, the owner and president, met me at the house to give his personal assessment. Right away he pointed out structural flaws that weren't up to safety standards and forewarned me about requirements for lead testing on older homes. The dollar signs were spinning in my head, but I was relieved that he was so open and genuine about what needed to be done rather than saying what he thought I'd want to here. While the former contractor I spoke with left his supplies behind and never showed, Matt and crew completed the job of re-framing a back door and stuccoing three or for exposed areas in less than a week. We had some serious water intrusion issues with our Rocklin home. Two contractors could not find the source of the water leak. We contacted HomePro after the wood floor rotted just below one of the windows. Matt Stevenson stopped by for a look and quickly identified the likely source, which we later learned was correct. It was impossible for us to reach anyone from the main office for follow-up questions or concerns, even after leaving messages repeatedly! BUT we lucked out after all. Having recently buying this home, the first big storm of Spring '14 resulted in some pretty significant leaking around our downstairs living room. After remediating the water damage we started looking for the right person to complete the stucco repairs. Looking for window replacement, then HomePRO is the place. I was looking for a company to do 14 windows on my 1927 brick cottage in Midtown. I tried another well advertised window replacement company out of Rancho Cordova but after spending two hours with their rep, there was no follow-up, zip. Matt at HomePRO was professional, informative and quoted me a fair price. He handled everything, from the permit process to reviewing the work. DO NOT hire HomePro. I don't know how they don't have more bad reviews on here, but they have at least one complaint(mine) against them with the CA contractors board. They will rip you off so fast your head will spin and when you try to question their quote and pricing they will immediately threaten to sue you and put a lien on your house. We hired them to repair a leaking window and stucco on our house. The original quote was for $7,300 for a week of labor. After they opened up the wall, they discovered some dry rot on the header and on one 2x4 on the side of the window. They told us to guarantee no future leaks, they would have to remove the stucco all the way to the roof. The additional work would take two more weeks and cost an additional $8000!!! The owner also said that if they finished quicker, they wouldn't charge us the full amount because the majority of that was labor. So, we signed the change order and they completed the job in 6 days total. When they final bill arrived, we were shocked. What happened to not charging us for the extra labor? Well, the owner basically told us we were idiots and didn't know how contractor's projects worked. When we asked him to itemize the whole project for us, he couldn't even come up will all the number to equal $15,300. He told us if we don't pay up, he will sue the crap out of us and put a lien on our house. Don't let this happen to you. We are still kicking ourselves for doing business with this man. About 2 years ago HomePro did an outstanding job diagnosing and repairing my leaky window including finding the root cause, tearing this back to find the root cause, and fixing it up the way it should have been built in the first place. I used HomePro to Paint my home with Tex-Cote for a lifetime Paint job. The product was cracking and peeling the very next year and cracked and peeled every year after. After the 5th year I was told that they would have to start charging me for the Repair. I contacted both HomePro and Tex-Cote and was put off by both parties. Tex-Cote blamed HomePro and HomePro blamed Tex-Cote. I was finally told that the Product should not be applied to wood and the solution that Matt came up with was to SELL me Siding to replace my wood siding. At the same time of the Painting I had HomePro repair the seal on the outside of the windows and HomePro used to cheapest product they could instead of using a Silicon product which I found would have lasted I want to warn everyone to be careful of using HomePro and to Stay Clear of Tex-Cote!!!!!!!!! read more

My wife and I purchased our forever home on May 31, 2016. My wife hired a contractor that charged us a small fortune and didn't complete the job. I hired HomePro in October 2016 to repair my fractured stucco exterior. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they were able to take care of all of my needs. They pointed out several things that needed immediate attention and put my fears to rest about what other contractors and home inspectors told me I needed to repair. They were willing to do everything I asked however some things would have been a waste of money. HomePro took care of some interior needs too. They are not the least expensive contractor to hire but knowing the employees are paid well, all permits are obtained, and they pay worker's comp insurance, eased my mind about the cost. All the work was completed within two weeks. I put off making this review to give a few months of weather to impact their work. I am proud to say my house is like new although it was constructed in 2002. I highly recommend HomePro for all of your home repair needs. I already have a few more jobs my wife wants completed. We had a leak coming from the top of one of our first floor windows. My husband made multiple attempts to patch the leak himself. It was getting worse and in the meantime the window beside it also showed signs. I called about 10 companies besides HomePro because I know you're supposed to get at least three bids. They all essentially said the same thing. Changing the window wouldn't necessarily fix a top leak and that it was probably a problem with the stucco and flashing. Most said they wouldn't even touch it unless it was their own original window installation. They all referred me back to HomePro. I spoke with Matt on the phone and he explained his process. It sounded ironclad. He came out to do the estimate and again he walked me through the process. I have huge trust issues when it comes to getting repairs done, but the minute I opened the door to Matt, I had a good feeling. His estimate was a lot of money, but I understood the meticulous process involved and the incredible track record he has for success. I was nervous about what they would find once they started opening things up, because that could mean a much more costly repair if it extended to the windows on the second floor. In the end, they only had to do one increase which was minimal and then they were satisfied there was no more water damage. The team that came to do the work was tidy, respectful and kind.
