For many years I suffered with Allergy/sinus infections and pain. At one point medications stopped working. I addressed this issue with Dr. Pipkin. she prescribed an ingenious, creative treatment. By following her plan, immediately after the treatment, pain was relieved. The end result of follow up treatments has been that the sinus issue/pain is 100% gone. I am currently on maintenance treatments that improve my sinus and overall health incredibly. My hygenist is the facilitator of the treatment and she is basically Awesome! It does not get better! The front office staff are rude and lie to there patients and to there Dr . I'm authorized to speak to Dr office regarding my husband and his treatment .i was rudely told they couldn't speak to me . I talk to manager later and she confirmed that I was authorized to speak on his behalf. OK, I'm still in shock after having the conversation with the receptionist this morning. No Hometown about this dental place. I just got back from the hospital because my father has dementia and I missed my appointment but they didn't care. They said I could not reschedule my appointment. Ever. Such horrible experience such disregard for people's situations. I would never, ever recommend this place maybe other people have been treated right, but this for me was the worst experience ever. First off, let me start this by saying, I've been to this practice when Dr Sweeney owned it and now multiple of times under the new owner, Dr. Pipkin. I will first question the truth behind the negative reviews below. Remember ppl, your getting one side of the story and in the world we live in today, you need both sides of the story to give your knowledgeable opinion on a specific matter. There's always more to the story, every conservative should know this! For me, My experiences with Dr Pipkin and her staff have been nothing but positive. Dr Pipkin and her staff are always professional and friendly. By friendly, I mean genuine friendly not fake friendly which the high desert has plenty to offer. The staff at the front desk are always kind, informative and extremely professional. The hygienist Taylor was amazing in regards to my deep cleaning! She was patient and extremely proficient. I was terrified about receiving shots in my mouth but with Taylor on the giving end of the needle I honestly felt little pain! Thank-you Taylor for putting me at ease and doing such an amazing job! Dr Pipkin addressed a deep cavity and this experience was also painless, smooth and calming. Dr Pipkin has a wonderful sense of humor and she addresses any worries you might have with a professional yet affable manner! Unfortunately Dr. Sweeney recently sold his practice and we will not be returning after our first experience with the new owner, Dr.Pipkin. She has negative reviews online at her other practices and I felt more like a dollar sign than a patient. The first thing Dr. Pipkin asked was if I wanted Invisalign. I don't believe my teeth are in need of that level of correction and was not there for cosmetic reasons. I cannot trust that we won't be sold other work we don't need; we have delta dental premier ppo plans and have high expectations that align with that level of cost every month. Dental care is not something to take lightly given the cost, time, risk and pain often involved. Sweeney was conservative and trustworthy in his approach consistently over the years. We will seek this elsewhere. read more

I went to Hometown Dental on November 29. They extracted my root canal that crack. *(i could have waited until after the holidays but they didn't say anything) as I did ask if they are going to put a temporary so I didn't have to go thur the holidays with a hole. The dentist pulls the root canal out. I was told that they were going to order the temporary and to come back in three days. When i went to pay my bill, I was told that they will call me when the temporary is in... It's been 30+days. I had to go thur the holidays with a tooth missing. My husband wanted to have a birthday party next week and we cancel due to my embarrassment. plus, there was no plan to fix the problem...Hometown Dental just ghost me. I've never been at ease in a dentist's office before now. All of the staff are friendly, they had no problem giving me an estimate, and most importantly, they gave me OPTIONS. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "okay, so we'll need to fill that" "we need" "you need". I was forever being talked down to. I was referred to this office by my co workers and I couldn't be happier. The office is very nice and welcoming and I was able to get an appointment right away. The dental hygienist was extremely thorough in cleaning my teeth, very gentle, and overall very nice. The polish flavors for my teeth cleaning were a plus! I never had anything other than mint and cinnamon flavored polish offered at other offices and the cake flavor I choose here was awesome! read more

My regular dentist was not available and so Dr. James Sweeney was my dental offices official substitute for an urgent dental emergency. They were all very professional and nice. They assessed the situation immediately and I needed another referral to a periodontist. I was so pleased with my visit. Everyone was so kind and explained everything to me. The place was so clean. Especially important right now. I thought I was going to need an extraction. But I'm fortunate and that's not the case. Within minutes and one x-Ray I was reassured it was a chip on my tooth and a bruised tooth and some loosening due to bone loss. I am compelled to leave a review because of the great experience my son and I had. Any office visit the experience begins with the office staff, that being said the ladies in reception are kind,, patient and informative. MANY of my personal bad experiences pertained to the reception staff so this was a pleasant surprise. I am 34 years old and have always had bad experiences at the dentist for a number of reasons. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. To start this out, I waited in the chair an hour and a half, between 10:10 and 11:40, for a ten minute teeth cleaning session. To be clear, to some extent, long waits can be normal if more than one person is coming in at once (like my family has at this dentist for a few years). However, almost two hours is too excessive of a wait for most businesses. Period. On top of that, I was ignored by staff to the point that I thought they forgot me. So I left a bad review hoping I wouldn't experience it again when I come back in March. They called me back and I took the call, figuring I should talk to them about my experience without hiding behind my keyboard. The problem was outlined as I wasn't scheduled for the time they told me, but I was scheduled for two hours later, which I was not told. My family was told we were all scheduled for the same time, even though we weren't. The dentist told me I should be grateful that I was seen to slightly earlier than they expected. No apology. I was told that I shouldn't have left the review because it was bad for business. He gave me the same excuses over and over, constantly telling me that the staff moving in and out of my room for supplies didn't have time to stop for two seconds to see if I was ok. He argued with me whenever I spoke about my review and would not let me speak unless I cut him off. I will not be coming back in March. read more

Been coming here for about 8/9 years twice a year. Dr. Sweeney is the best dentist I've ever had. What I like is that he does not over book so when it's your appointment time you're called back right away. He explains every step and is gentle. He has good up to date equipment and the office is always super clean. My daughter and little sister love coming here, he is great with kids, he's very patient with them. I've been in and around dentist my whole life. At 7 years old my grandmother ran the biggest dental group in the 909 and my mother worked for her. As a direct result, I spent most of my childhood days in and around that dental group. Eventually I would grow up and land my first job in dentistry at a dental office in Rancho Cucamonga. All that Time around dental offices, and I began to grow very un-fond of dentistry. This result in me brushing and flossing daily in an effort to avoid the dental office by any means necessary. When I broke my primary molar and was unable to eat, I had no choice. I went to a place that accepted my dental discount plan and they wanted me to sign more than 8 forms before they'd work on me. Including a release, a waiver not to sue, a privacy release, I cannot remember the last few. I walked out. I called Dr. James Sweeny and told him I needed to see someone I could trust. I reluctantly gathered the courage to make another appointment to go in and see the dentist. My experience with Dr. Sweeny was, literally, the absolute best experience I've ever had at a dental office. No pain before, during, or after the procedure. I have a few more problems I need fixed, but now; I can actually be enthusiastic about it. Dr. Sweeny is hands down the absolute best dentist I've ever met. I cannot recommend him enough. read more

Best experience ever! As an adult I still get a little tense with dental check ups. Showing up for my appointment I was quickly greeted by a group of very nice staff at the front. I was impressed with how quickly they took care of me and my paperwork since it was my first visit. I waited like 10-15 minutes and before I knew it I was being called in and escorted by Dr Sweeney himself! That was a great feeling and tells me a thing or two about the doctor. I was immediately attended (examined, x-rays), evaluated and treated. Dr Sweeney is a very pleasant and calm doctor. He took the time to explain things to me, conversed and smiled. I guess what I have to say is that the doctor and the staff were amazingly nice and the service was quick. The facility looks well organized, clean and seems to have all modern technology. I was impressed and do plan to return for my follow up. Yes, I do recommend this practice. Give it a try at least once. read more

The dentist needs to be someone who is honest that people can trust. The advertising needs to be much much better. A place cannot operate correctly if the front office is nice but then the dentist is not. Also, please don't lie about what the insurance covers. Just be straight up and tell us. We will find out. I had my first appointment here today. The office is so nice, you really do feel at home. From the first moment walking into the office you feel comfortable. The staff is so awesome. Michelle really made me feel like my needs were important and worked me into their schedule. I didn't have to sit in the waiting room long at all. This place is a joke. Multiple cancelled appointments by the office with less than 24 hours notice. I spent 2 plus hours in a dentist chair for a procedure that took 30 minutes. The doctor kept leaving to work on other patients. Used to be open on Fridays. Now open one a month. Too busy to care about their patients. Stay away. read more

Be careful dealing with them.. Dishonest!My family has been seeing Dr Sweeny for Years and never had a problem UNTIL last year when his staff straight up lied to me personally about a procedure "you have great insurance and this is covered 100%, nothing out of pocket" of course I was relieved and said yes... Well a year later my husband went in for his cleaning and was confronted with " are you going to pay your balance of $300 ".. Not knowing what it was because we never received anything from them I called his office and they said it was from my procedure a year ago... Long story but we went round and round, I called my insurance co and they said those procedures are never covered at 100% that my plan is 70% covered so they knew it wasn't covered when they spoke to me originally and now there's Nothing I can do, I have to pay it because they won't budge... So sad because I really DID like and trust him as a dentist but I guess now I'll be going elsewhere.... read more
