We hired HOMM CPS to help refresh some of our rooms and the outdoors, including the bath ceiling, a laundry room accent wall, an outdoor gate, railings, and a door. Our helpers were Diomedes (Dio), the foreman assigned, Josue, and Adrian, our Production Manager. The entire process, from the time we inquired through the completion of the work, was a positive experience. Everyone was service-oriented, easy to work with, and the quality (as you can see in some of the attached pictures) was first-rate. "The owner came to our home, inspected the project, took photos, and provided a quote. Once the painting was underway, the project manager told me it would require three coats because the paint wasn't covering. The owner then tried to charge us an additional $1,300. We need 2 levels painted at our home. We had (4) contractors visit and provide estimates. We chose HOMM, their representative 'Andres' came out and was very professional, he explained all required tasks and said they could start immediately. I will be honest, we loved the company, but they were a little pricier than the others, so we simply asked Andres if they could come down a little and be in the same competitive range as the others. We also explained that we would be tipping all the painters, he agreed. It is so nice to have a contractor who is willing to work with you. My wife said, every time we use a vendor, it's all male dominated, she said, she is sure there are women who can paint too (smile). When Antonio arrived with his team, it was all females, which was amazing to my wife. They did an excellent job. I just got an estimate less than 5 years after the painting. The company quickly figured out why the paint was pealing so bad. The wall had not been primed. I recall protesting that the painters were not priming the walls before painting. Andres quickly came back with you do not need to prime when you use two coats. And WHAT are post painting guidelines? Never heard of them. Oh, you mean don't write of the walls, thought it was understood. And I was never offered a touch up. More misleading. We knew when we moved in the exterior of the house would need to be painted. It had clearly been a long time, looked sad and tired and simply need to get done. After tackling some higher priority projects, I researched several local painting companies - some larger, some smaller. I received three quotes, two of which seemed a bit excessive, and we received some conflicting advice and information which left me feeling confused and uncertain. I reached out to Homm after a bit more internet sleuthing and Andres was immediately responsive and professional, he came out to our home and answered some of my questions which arose from the confusion from the other companies. He returned with a reasonable, clearly laid out proposal and after answering a few more of my random questions, we knew we found our painter. We talked through the process, signed the contract and scheduled our project. Andres remained in communication throughout - providing some guidance on how to select colors, etc. which was helpful. The project was able to commence slightly earlier than scheduled, and Andres provided us with a detailed email indicating who our team lead was and what we should expect. The team, led by foreman, Yoni, was professional, and incredibly efficient. They worked long days in the worst heat of the summer without any complaint. The results are excellent - we are exceedingly pleased. In addition to the painting, they noted a few areas where the wood needed repair, explained it all to us, and completed the repairs quickly and carefully. Each step of the project was executed well. We hired Hömm to paint our main level (5 rooms, entryway and hallway), stairwell, and upstairs landing. The job included all the trim and doors as well as the walls. This was a 3-day job. We have used Homm twice - they are professional, responsive and reliable. Andres knows how to deliver great customer service - he gets it, and he and his crew are a pleasure to work with. In the Fall of 2021 they painted the exterior of our house. We live in an old house with wood siding and lots of trim, and they helped us sort through all of our old paints to match them perfectly (we wanted the exact same colors but they were really old paints/colors, and we had samples of some old paints but not others), did great prep work, and were very thorough with their painting two complete coats, and the result shows it. We could not be more pleased with their work and the result. We were so pleased that when we wanted to paint the interior of our house, there was no question that we would use them again. They just finished that (Spring 2022), and again, we were very pleased. Hömm Certified Painting Systems is without any doubt the best in the Fairfax area when it comes to getting your home painted! At the end of March, I contacted several painter companies in the Fairfax area to inquire about getting the exterior (trim, doors, and shutters) of my 34 foot with 3 level home repainted. I went back and forth with a few companies working out details about the project and to get a solid cost proposal. Andres M., the business owner, was the most responsive of all the company responders. He discussed specific points about areas normally painted that I did not even think about like a black strip of metal that is above each window. None of the other company responders asked for such precise details and simply gave ballpark estimates of the cost with little information. Most of the companies provided estimates that included single paint coats on trim; Andres provided a quote that included two paint coats on all areas to be painted. The crew, led by Yony, did an outstanding job! They took their time scraping, sanding, cleaning, and caulking before they started to paint. They applied two coats of paint in all areas they painted and they applied a third in some areas where the foreman thought it needed a third. We had three painting companies give us estimates to paint the trim on our 1925 house and garage, and Homm's (conducted by Andres himself) was by far the most comprehensive and detailed. Not only did Homm paint the trim, including many windows on a four-story house, but they performed some repairs where they found rotting wood, and they reglazed a number of windows. I have a certain methodology that I use when looking for a firm to do work on my home - I cross-check the Washington Consumer Checkbook, Angie's List, and Yelp (of course), and if they have top ratings across the board on all three platforms, those firms end up on my short list to contact. This time around, I was looking for a reputable painting firm to spruce up the outside of my home and ended up choosing Hömm. From start to finish, this was one of the best experiences I've ever had with any contractor as a homeowner. I instantly knew from my initial meeting with Andres that I'd be in good hands. He returned my call within the day and was at my house the next morning to do a walk-around, during which we discussed various options for the exterior painting work, including cleaning the aluminum siding. He was very thoughtful, making suggestions as appropriate and never pushing any sort of up-sell. I had a proposal in my hands just a day or two later, with everything clearly laid-out. They use an E-sign service, making the whole acceptance process quite easy, and I was on the calendar for their next available slot. Everything went very, very well during the painting itself, with the team doing an excellent job. They were particularly careful with the trim work, taping surfaces to leave a neat appearance when they were done. The railings on my front steps look better than they ever have due to their attention to sanding down as needed and smoothing out the surfaces. I also had to have some woodwork replaced with new PVC board, and I very much appreciated that the team put the joints between boards in inconspicuous places, below the level of my deck so they can't be seen. These little touches are the true mark of people who take pride in their work. Finally, I really appreciate how careful the guys were at the end of the job, tidying up and leaving everything just right. We did a final walk-through once the work was completed, and my house looks spectacular! I've already recommended Hömm to several of my neighbors, including some who happened to be around when the work was being done. Homm was contracted to paint my living room, bedroom and hallway. They also ended up painting my new hardwood floors & furniture, left dust everywhere in my home, and treated my bathroom like a porta potty. I notified the owner, including photos of the issues. He offered me $200. But when there is that much damage and disrespect, it seems more like he missed the point. There was never a sorry or acknowledgement of bad service. When I hired professionals, I expected them to protect my property and belongings. Not worth the cost or the time to clean up Homm's mess. read more

I recently retained Homm to repair and paint damaged plaster walls in my condo. Homm scraped plaster walls, sanded and repaired them, skimmed them, and repainted them. I worked with Andres at Homm and he was fantastic. The job was very labor intensive and Andres took a lot of time explaining what the problem was, how it was caused, and what, exactly, he and his team would do to repair them. He worked with me on my budget and was able to complete the work on time and even earlier than orginally scheduled when my schedule changed. Their price was unbeatable - we paid around $1750 for everything (and we have a lot of cabinets). It was such a great deal that a few people had told us it was too good to be true. He arrived on time and we discussed the spaces to be painted and discussed colors. After agreeing to the proposal, we were able to get on the schedule quickly due to the weather. The first day, a six man crew led by Roger arrived on time and began the extensive preparation process. He walked with us through all of the areas to make sure that everything was correct. At the end of the first day all was done except for the kitchen as preparation was still in progress. The crew cleaned up before departing. I used Homm Certified Painting Systems for my first contracted job -- the removal of a particularly unsightly popcorn ceiling -- in my first new home. I couldn't have been happier with the experience and the end result. The owner, Andres, responded very quickly to my request for a quote. We arranged a time at my convenience for him to inspect conditions and take measurements. He arrived on time, was friendly and efficient in his work and took the time to explain to me how the work would be done. The quote that he issued shortly thereafter was reasonable and I particularly appreciated that he issues a warranty for his firm's work. The team who showed up to perform the work -- Walter and another gentleman, whose name I didn't catch, could not have been more professional.
