I wouldn't recommend coming to this place, my dad and I came here for my car a few years ago to get a new engine swapped in, everything was good until the motor blew not even a month later. My dad is a mechanic and I know how to work on cars as well, these guys kept saying "your son didn't take a easy on the engine" which is bs because I was. I saw an ad on craigslist for a JDM Toyota 1zz-fe engine that I needed as a replacement for the one in my car. It came with an optional installation fee making the total cost about $900 for the engine and replacement, and so I called the number attached to inquire about it. My call was not answered, but I received a text from Andrew immediately after, asking what I needed. I asked him about the craigslist ad for the engine and installation, and he told me that it would cost $1500 on my car as the labor was different (you need to lift the car up and over the engine instead of pulling the engine up and out with a hoist). I little misleading, but still a great deal for what was getting done! I later found out that the address provided in the ad was his shop, Honda and Foreign Auto, so I took my 2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder there to get my engine replaced. The previous engine was on the verge of blowing up; it actually did on the way there about 48 miles into the trip (86 miles total as we were coming from Santa Clarita). Andrew attempted to call a friend to see if he could come out and tow us the rest of the way to his shop. Unfortunately his friend was busy that day, but the gesture was still very nice, and not one that I had expected. The car was dropped off and in a matter of two days the car was ready and running! He showed me the hole that was punched in the previous engine, another nice gesture to ensure that the blown engine was being replaced and not repaired. I drove the car back home, and to my surprise, was greeted by the dreadful check engine light as I started the car up later that same night. Andrew attempted to guide me in fixing the problem via text because he knew we were coming from far away, but I ultimately had to bring the car back to him. The issue was a PCV valve hose that was cracked and taking in excess air causing the car to run lean. This was not necessarily Andrew's fault, as the hose was cracked prior to his work; however, it would have been nice to not have to drive an extra 172 miles to get a hose replaced, especially finding out later that Andrew was already skeptical about it when he saw it prior to me picking up the car. It was a bit of a headache, but nonetheless the engine is now running great and the check engine light is no longer there! It has been a few weeks since the hose replacement and the car is running strong. The car passed smog with flying colors and is now a reliable daily to school and back. He advised me to check my oil often within the first week to make sure it wasn't burning any: It wasn't! I would definitely drive the 86 miles to get work done by Andrew again. He is very communicative, honest, straightforward, and fair in his pricing. A++++ mechanic, would definitely recommend. Thank you very much Andrew. read more

DO NOT BUY ENGINE FROM THIS PLACE. Rebuilt engines. First off, this place has a Craigslist Ad offering $599 with $499 professional installation. The total $1100, but with taxes, additional parts, and the warranty it cost me over $1400 (which is the deal I cut with him because it was gonna cost $1600). I didn't expect all those other fees to add up. Being a college student, I couldn't afford a new car so $1400 for a new engine seemed fine for a car I could drive for at least a couple more years. Which was not the case. This is where it starts. When I took the car out for the first time, I notice a large puddle of thick red liquid (transmission fluid) in the garage. So I asked the guy, he tells me they don't touch the transmission therefore it's not covered under warranty. LIE #1 they DID touch the transmission line and didn't place it back correctly causing it to leak which cost me $50 to fix at another shop. Which he did offered to fix, but charge the same. After that, I tried driving to school less than 10miles and the car starts overheating! This becomes a recurring incident. Finally, he agrees to switch the engine after concluding he may have gave me a bad motor. This is after dozens of uber rides, a wk of car rental and a tow. After the second engine, it OVERHEATED again! I sent him videos and pictures trying to work with him to resolve this dreadful issue, but he kept giving me the run around until he finally stop responding. Recently the warrant ran out feb.18, not even a month ago. The car is sitting in the driveway STILL not working. The sad thing is. My car worked well enough to get me to school, work, and home before all this. It shook and I constantly had to put coolant, but it worked. Now it's unusable.
