Do to their egregious work, my car is a fire hazard and my driver door isn't working properly. This is dangerous, criminal level of neglect. DO NOT COME HERE!!! I bought a donation vehicle in 2014. The first mechanic I took the car to couldn't repair an overheating problem. I went to Plaza Automotive and met a BAR representative. He recommended the place. So, I chose this mechanic shop to do my repairs. I replaced the radiator, fan motor, water pump, all hoses, valve cover gasket, and anything else having to do with the water system. I was a student at the time living off student loans. 2014--They diagnosed the overheating problem as having to do with the fan motor. I replaced the fan motor twice, but the car was still overheating. So they installed a "switch" to keep the fan continuously running to keep the engine cool. A short time later, smoke was coming from under the dashboard. I had a friend fix it because I didn't have the money to go back to Plaza II. I drove the car, and SPARKS and SMOKE was coming from under the dashboard!! I couldn't afford to get it fixed at Plaza II, so the friend fixed it again. I kept bringing my car back to them for various repairs and maintenance--breaks, oil changes, tune ups, etc. In 2017--The door handle broke. I took it to Plaza II. they bought a "new" door handle and fixed my breaks--$2,200.00! I drove the car, and the break pedal WENT TO THE FLOOR!! OOPS! forgot to install a MASTER CYLINDER! They charged me an additional $350.00 for the master cylinder. 6 months later, while under warranty, the break pedal is again going to the floor and the "new" door handle broke again! I took the car back, and I was told that the "door handle wasn't under warranty" and charged me AGAIN! The inside door handle, which wasn't a problem now doesn't work either. Of course, Chris will not admit that THEY broke the inside door handle....It's just an old car! While waiting for a "new" door handle, they took off the door panel, left it in the back seat and told me that the inside door handle would work with the panel off. CHRIS LIED!! I had to climb over the passenger seat to drive the car!! The master cylinder--WASN'T INSTALLED PROPERLY TO BEGIN WITH!! They didn't charge me for that. My driver door has never worked properly since. I was told to replace the entire door!! 2018--I took the car to another mechanic: The spark plugs, air filter, and other tune up parts haven't been replaced in 2 years!! The spark plugs were off another car, not the right type for my car and were different types. This has damaged my vehicle. I was told that they NEVER FIXED THE OVERHEATING PROBLEM and with the "switch" to turn on the fan motor...I'm driving with a fire hazard with a driver door that doesn't work properly. My car would not start at all. They replaced my Radiator and my transmission and The fuse box cover and the PDM Intellegent Power Distribution Module My Car is now running perfect. Brought my classic car 70' Cadillac there because I'm getting tired of doing the work myself after 40+ yrs. I recently resurrected this beast after years of sitting on jack stands & I had some misc. leaks I wanted fixed. A few with the Trans, radiator hoses, power steering pump and steering gear. I had recently painted my trans pan blue to match other engine parts. I supplied all brand new gaskets ect. They fixed a few of the trans leaks and replaced the hoses. Told me the oil pan was leaking and made the mistake of telling me how the repair had to be made and how they have to remove everything off the front of my engine and replace the timing chain cover and the oil pan gasket. I thought wtf? The front cover isn't leaking I had replaced that myself and the ONLY thing that needs removing is the bar from my steering linkage under the car. Just 2 bolts and it's out of the way. They said it was like a $450. job. The pump reservoir they couldn't fix or replace since that is a hard part to find these days. And that was all they could do. I brought my car home and I had it apart painting it for several months. After I was done I went under my car to do what these clowns couldn't do without taking the scenic route, and noticed my trans pan had been painted GOLD! They never told me that they did this. And I can see why... it was a crappy job let alone it looked horrible! I was pissed. The trans pan started leaking a year after they supposedly put a new gasket in and I only drove it `12 mi. OBVIOUSLY they suck at putting gaskets in that I supplied. All along the edges of the pan you can see they must have used a bunch of gasket sealant. I brought my car in as soon as I could since it is hard to get away from home being a 24/7 caregiver for my mom. Found that the repairs themselves were NOT under any warranty because I supplied BRAND NEW parts they would have had a hard time finding. I was going to be charged OVER $100. to look at it. And it took them 3 days to "finger" out a list of stuff of which I did NOT agree with so they told me I should have my trans rebuilt. I said There's NOTHING wrong with my trans! Other than it leaking from the pan. The guy I dealt with last year had quit the week before my calling them. They said they would have to drop my tranny to make one of the repairs. I asked "how much are you talking?" He said $1,800.00. Since it has to be dropped you should just have it rebuilt. I said look... all I wanted was my pan leak stopped and my pan returned to blue. He then tells me they don't have anyone that works on transmissions the guy just quit yesterday and he doesn't know what he's going to do trans mechanics are hard to find. What does that have to do with me? Plaza II automotive used to be a TRANSMISSION SHOP many years ago. I remember picking up my dad's car at their old location. I also know for a FACT they have NEW and REBUILT transmissions for classic cars in a couple of storage buildings! The price of trannny's aren't real high. Having them rebuilt yeah you are gonna bite the big one on that! I told this new guy about the stock pile of tranny's that are there on site. He stumbled not knowing what to say... then he says Yeah but I don't know which is which. I'm thinking that's what part #'s are for! At the end of all this I am still stuck with an ugly leaking trans pan and a tranny that STILL works great. But I'm out $130.00 for 3 days of nothing but shucking and diving. No, I can not with good conscious recommend this garage. I used to go to BOB'S Automotive when I was lazy at Jurupa and Magnolia. But he doesn't work on cars over 20 yrs. old any more. If you need repairs on a car under 20 yrs old. I firmly suggest George at BOB'S. I went there since 1980. And sent all my lil' old ladies I would meet through work. They all loved the fact they were NEVER overcharged, things were fixed fast and they trusted him. read more

I do not reccomend this shop very sketchy "repair". I brought my vehicle in to have a simple repair. The heat shield over the exhaust was hanging down. A bolt broke and just needed the bolt replaced. They looked at it and said no problem we can get this taken care of. I thought great. We'll when I went to pick up my vehicle they charged me $120 to wrap a piece of wire around it to hold it up. They said they could not remove the bolt to properly repair it. I asked why it's so much money than if they could not fix it and had to Jerry rig it together. The man smiled and said "its for inspecting your vehicle and fixing it". Yet all they did was wrap a piece of wire around it and call it fixed. I asked how long they warranty there work and the guy said "well its a thick piece of wire". Now I would understand if they told me they could not fix it take it somewhere else, or this is the best we could do and not charge because they did not fix it. But charging $120 to Jerry rig something you could not fix is not right. So I do not recommend going to this shop unless you want this quality of work. read more

Bullet points- * Rude * Expensive * Dismissive * Generally crappy experience I firmly believe that going to a mechanic should not feel like going to a casino and playing craps, and yet that is exactly the experience I had at Plaza II automotive. To start with I went earlier in the day to Valvoline oil change (formerly EZ Lube of California) because about two weeks earlier the air conditioning stopped working, but we had thought that perhaps it just needed the freon being charged. The Valvoline tech told us that the car failed the leak test AND that our condenser looked a little wonky. The charge for this service $30.00 I called a company I very much trust, who does not do air conditioning service, and was recommended to Plaza II. I called the number for plaza II and asked if it was possible to get a quote on getting the car repaired. The person on the other end of the line asked how soon i could get there, and I told him 15 minutes. As soon as we get to the service center we were made to feel like crap. I can't even describe how rude they were. It was as though they were too good to take our money. We were told to go around the building before they would even help us. It was only at this point that we were surprised with the knowledge that the inspection would cost $50. When I stated that this should have been disclosed over the phone the man said "I have to pay my technicians." So what did that $50 get us? It got us the exact same information we had from Valvoline, only I don't believe they even hooked a machine up to the car- it was a purely physical inspection. They popped the hood, saw the wonky part and said give us $50 for the diagnoses and $650 more if you want it repaired. The estimate they gave us DID NOT break down the costs of labor, parts etc... but was only a lump sum. Very shady in my opinion to do it that way. I truly believe that when they saw what was wrong they should not have charged us the $50 they normally charge for the more thorough inspection. I feel robbed. I actually cried on the way home I was so upset from the treatment. I would never, ever, ever, recommend this place to anyone. I would recommend Top Dawg where they have firm prices but they treat their people with respect. (side note don't get me started on how he talked about Valvoline Oil Service station and what shitty people he thinks they are. A note for the future, those people treated us nicely and diagnosed the problem for $20 less! than Plaza II) read more

What made me upset is I got my car back in worse condition then before I brought it in. I paid $1600 for resealing of my valve cover, a new alternator and fuel injector cleaning/tune up. Since then my car is not the same, it feels it will break down at anytime. I tried bringing it back the next day demanding they fix it and Fabian refused any further service. Please do not come here. They will swindle you out of your money. The customer service was poor, whomever was in charge of my car (Jim?) was extremely rude. I took my car in 4 separate times and yet I still have problems with it. When I expressed my displeasure and fear of driving my car because of the fact that it has now broken down four times, they did a piss poor job of looking into it and then told me "we just can't make it overheat the way you're saying it is" and the next day, guess what?! It overheated again, I took it to another mechanic and they told me they had been putting the wrong radiator fluid in my car and it was then in turn messing up my engine. THANKS GUYS! Horrible service. My car broke down while out here so I had it towed here. The guy seemed nice at first but ended up being very rude and I don't thing he knew what he was talking about. My car wouldn't start so he popped the hood, checked the oil and tried to start my car. He said it was the timing belt(I don't have a timing belt, I have a timing chain) and he can't do the work today I said ok and then he said its a compressor and can't be done today either but leave it there. What can you do today? He had one of his mechanics come over and said its the timing belt, the mechanic said it has a chain, not a belt. Im cool on coming here. ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE. TERRIBLE AND DISHONEST. DO NOT RECOMMEND. SHADY PRACTICES. I came to get a diagnostic test a few weeks ago for the A/C system that wasn't working properly in my Honda Civic. The AC would stop working after a short period and blow out warm air. I paid $50 for the check, and was told there was a compressor problem with the highs and lows, and was quoted $770 for the repair. My father does most of the maintenance on my car, and being on a student budget, I wanted to get a second opinion before spending this amount. I drive off the shop and come to find the A/C system not even turning on anymore. No blower or fan, completely shut off. Mind you the A/C was malfunctioning and would only work for like 20 min but at the very least I could work around it in the mornings on my school commute while I figure out what to do or save up the money for the fix, but now I was stuck with a dead AC system. I came back a week later to inquire as to why the system won't even turn on anymore and was told by Chris that the compressor shuts down like that when there is a pressure problem. So at this point not only do I feel like the estimate is off, but that I was being taken advantage of since I am a young female student (or maybe they thought I was an idiot, regardless of gender). I took my car to another shop in Moreno Valley, and had a completely different experience. The mechanic not only immediately identified the problem, but was so helpful and honest. The problem was a gap in the AC clutch, he adjusted it and my AC was working perfectly again! He fixed it within an hour, no hassles. No need to do any internal repairs, or replace the compressor entirely. And I paid... $180!!! To add insult to injury, he told me that the freon had been drained previously. I asked him if there was any reason to do this during a diagnostic and he said no, unless there was a leak history or issue with the car (there wasn't) or the mechanic was incompetent and didn't know what he was doing. The look on their faces confirmed what I suspected: that they had tried to overcharge me and dupe me. I was later told that shops can take the freon out and resell it when they recharge other systems (ESSENTIALLY STEAL THE FREON FROM MY CAR). So not only did they completely misdiagnose the problem at Plaza Automotive, they STOLE THE FREON and LIED to my face when I returned to ask. I had to pay extra to get my system recharged for this reason The Plaza Automotive quote was for $770, I paid $180 with another awesome (and HONEST) mechanic for a simple adjustment. I don't normally do this, but am so disgusted after a simple phone inquiry that I had to. I called for a ballpark estimate to have the clearcoat replaced on the hood of my car. The man I talked with spoke to me like I was a child and crazy for asking. He demanded to know what year the car is. I told him. He rudely asked me why I wanted a 2013 car painted. I said I just needed the clearcoat replaced on the hood, the paint was fine. He said he couldn't give me any kind of an estimate without seeing the car in person; how would he know how bad the paint was. He's interrupting me, "what does it look like, what does it look like, how do I know....". I repeated that the clearcoat is peeling on the hood and I just wanted to know roughly what it would cost to have that replaced. He began berating me about how peeling will spread to the top of the car and other places. I tried to explain that I knew the clearcoat had been replaced once already by the dealer where I bought the car used and that it was obviously thinner than the coating on the rest of the car. At this point, he is practically yelling at me. I think he was trying to tell me I needed the entire car re-coated or repainted and recoated. I think this was the rudest, most disrespectful treatment I've ever had from a business over a simple question. I wonder if he talks to his male customers the same way. read more

Took vehicle in for an issue with my a/c. Was charged over 350.00 dollars for a recharge and a Schrader valve, only to find out the problem wasn't solved. Air condition would only stay cold at idle. Did some research online "myself" same day and found I needed to adjust the a/c clutch. I did so in 15 mins once I was home and problem was solved! The technicians here said they have never had that type of problem before which I find hard to believe, especially since I found a fix for it online in no time. They recommended other services to me to fix the problem which I'm glad I did not follow through with. I would not recommend this shop read more
