I have had an ongoing problem with sounds my car has been making. Pep Boys quoted me $1200 to change the struts, which supposedly would have fixed the issue. I took the car to honest 1 care, and they identified the issue as damaged engine mounts. They were able to fix the problem for around $750, and they got it right the first time. I have a mixed review with good and bad. Bad: They never were able to fix my problem, a leaking connection in my AC system of my 2003 Volvo. Tried four times. It is an odd problem so it may not be their fault but could not give them five stars for not repairing the problem. They have done good work on my other cars. Great: Every time I brought the car in with the problem of leaking coolant, they tried again to fix it and never charged me for the return visits. They refilled the freon 4 times but only charged me for the first. They replaced a certain o-ring 3 times but only charged me for the first. I wish they could have fixed my problem but they were VERY fair. read more

Prices are quite reasonable, and they understand that I am on a fixed income. This past weekend, I had another problem with the car. Bearings...$$$$$$$$$$, right? Wrong. They worked magic and were able to fix my car for a great price. It is amazing the difference their work made to the driveability of my little red car. 100% happy with the service provided. Honest-1 Auto Care was able to get me scheduled and in for service very quick. They replaced my motor mounts and were very fair on pricing. All employees acted and dressed professional. In addition when I brought in an online coupon, they had already applied it to the bill before I ever mentioned a coupon. I'm not one to leave negative reviews but feel I should for this company. First time dealing with them about 3 years ago it was a good experience. Recently I took my vehicle to get an AC charge and my hood release was acting up. I wasn't able to get the hood to latch all the way closed. I get a call saying they can fix it for $650. I mentioned that seemed like a lot and their response was "yeah, that part isn't cheap". I obviously declined to get it done and found the part for $10 online brand new. Furthermore, when I picked up my vehicle the hood was latched closed. That seemed odd since I thought it was broken. Turns out it didn't even need replacing, I figured out that the hood release was not quite going in all the way preventing it from closing. They could have told me this since obviously they knew and were able to close it. Be careful with this company and all auto repair places. It's too easy for them to pull a fast one. read more

Honest-1 was everything I expected. A place to get your car fixed. The man at the desk was fair explaining the things I needed done and everything he recommended I knew I needed. I wasn't very happy that my oil change was $69.95. He said Hondas use a certain kind of synthetic oil and that's why it was more expensive. I did some research and for sure, synthetic oil is more. Other services that I need were fairly priced as well. Technicians looked experienced and not like ex-cons like I've seen at other places. I'll be back to Honest-1. read more

I brought my truck in to have the air conditioner and parking brake replaced on a saturday. After having it all day it was not done. The air part failed and was leaking. They could not fix it and get another part until monday. I was disappointed but not mad i had to go without air in the phoenix heat another couple days. They did let me take the vehicle but when I drove it to a friends sunday night the check engine light came on. It's never been on ever in the past. I dropped it off sunday night so it would be there early. After it was finished I pulled around the corner in the shade to let it cool off with the air running and noticed a horrible knocking noise and the check engine light on again. I went back and asked about it. They said I need a belt tensioner. Apparently this part went bad upon installation of the new air conditioner since its all connected. I was mad at this point that I came in with a non broken part and leave with a broken one.They even knew it wasn't good as of saturday. My other mechanic had to explain to me that if the part was compromised due to age the load of the new part on it may have caused it to fail. They never even bothered to bring it to my attention on saturday or even after I had picked it up. They let me leave with a potentially dangerous vehicle that could lead to the serpentine belt breaking leaving me stranded in the Phoenix heat somewhere. There was no owning up to it or even explaining it to me like my other mechanic did. Then quote me another 225.00 to fix that. It would have been easier to fix it while it was all apart instead of finishing it and letting me leave that way. That is so low and shady. Very disappointed. BBB complaint is my next step. read more

They always give me a rundown of what "should" be done, but if I'm not ready to commit to doing it, they are very professional and don't pressure me to get it done! Honest auto care found a warranty issue on my car and advise me about it and repaired it at no charge. They found a problem with a previous service performed at another location. Do you advise me that the service performed was defective. They contacted the repair facility that had performed the service. That facility paid Honest-1 and covered the repair. I appreciated how honest he was patient and follow it up with the other facility. read more

I was driving across the country, from Texas to California, when I began noticing a grinding sound (and feel!!!) whenever I would brake. Being a single woman, I worried I might be taken advantage of when it came to repairs, but the mechanics at Honest 1 took the time to explain exactly what was going on with the brakes - the rotors needed replaced -- and even showed me the damaged parts. No issues with the service I received. They did a good job. I knew I needed a brake job before I went in. They fixed my brakes (front and back) in just under 90 minutes. They recommended a couple of other things that needed service but didn't push me to get it done immediately. Thank you for that. My only complaint is this. It's not so much a complaint about Honest 1 but with car repair shops in general. I just don't like being charged almost 20 bucks for "shop materials". Other than that I will use the Honest guys for future repairs. read more
