My mother needed her dishwasher installed and a few places refused to install it (even Home Depot where the dishwasher was purchased!) because the house had an RO system already installed. Honest Handyman was able to help my mom when other companies could not. On top of that, the customer service is stellar! For example, George came to install the dishwasher and my 6 year old nephew was there asking him questions throughout. He politely answered each question. And even after he finished and my nephew asked him if he wanted to play soccer (lol), George kicked the ball with him a couple times before saying he had to go lol. That was sooo sweet. Second, there was an issue with the initial install, so I called and Kyle came back to the house with no problem and fixed the issue. Third, we THOUGHT there was another issue with the install, and Kyle came out again to only find out that my mom was not turning the dishwasher on properly. Despite taking the extra trip (for nothing), Kyle was very polite and professional. I don't live with my mom and I try to help her handle her affairs from out of state; I usually call to make the necessary appts and stay on the phone to talk to the professionals while they are at the house. I saw the reviews on Yelp and decided to contact Honest Handyman about our sagging ceiling can lights. Kyle was very prompt in responding and setting up an appointment for us. Dave was the serviceman that came out and took care of the lights very easily. We asked him if he could take care of a couple of other things at the same time and he did, which was so helpful. We didn't have to call several different contractors to get those things done. It was great having one handyman that could take care of all of the items that needed attention. Wish I could have given more stars. Response time from Kyle the owner was great. I was very excited to find an honest handyman to help with multiple projects in our new home. Kyle did say they could do most of the items on my wish list. The day that I needed a handyman we decided that we were going to start with the install of faucets in the bathroom and faucet and garbage disposal in the kitchen. Initially we thought we would have them hang light fixtures too but they did not arrive in time. We would save this for a later date. The handyman arrived and we showed him the scope of work: install bathroom faucet and install faucet and garbage disposal in kitchen. He started with the bathroom faucet install, after a few minutes he came to tell us that he could not proceed because whoever put the angle stop on did not do it properly (my fabricator replaced this piece when they took the old faucet off when replacing our countertops). He told us we needed to call them to come over before he could start the install because he didn't want it to become "his problem". Unfortunately, I couldn't call the fabricators to come switch this piece out while the "handyman" was there. I asked him if he could do it but he refused because it could be a "liability" for him. I mean I did hire him to do the plumbing. After continued conversation about fixing it he said he could try but the best he could tell us is there could be a huge break in the pipe and it could take him 5 minutes or 2 hours to fix it but he was unsure until he got in there. At this point it appeared he didn't want to do it so we told him to forget it and we could find someone else who could help us out and not give us the run around. He did the kitchen faucet and garbage disposal which was fine. I'm bummed out because it's so hard to find honest people with customer service - based on all the reviews from this company I felt very let down, I wish I had the same experience as others did. read more
