VIRGINIA BEACH | Honest Pastures | why can we not have places like this literally everywhere? Mama loves a good sandwich and HP serves. I cannot get past the fact that I have to leave northern Virginia to get a good sandwich. We had the Reuben and the chicken Philly. Kids had the grilled cheese and chicken strips. All were a hit and the fries were delish. We will be back tomorrow for breakfast because it was that good. Kuddos to this place for welcoming families with young kids. Not only do you have multiple items on the menu for them but there are high chairs and a changing table. Crazy how those things are hard to come by.

Good vegan spot! Not far from the ocean front and a huge menu to choose from. Little deli atmosphere. Don't miss grab and go fridge with candy bars... incredible. I got a classic hoagie and was not disappointed. I want to come back to try some other goodies. Food came out pretty fast. Service could've been friendlier but hey everyone has bad days. Working in food service is hard.

I have never seen so many different vegan meat options in my life. Even if you are not vegan you can still have a tasty meal here. I did an early dinner with a Reuben Sandwich and side of Cauliflower "Onion" rings. The meat (non-meat) was sooooo good. My girlfriend got the Mediterranean sandwich with the pickled cucumber salad side that was also good. The owners are super friendly and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming! Next visit will be to try breakfast. If any criticism it would be they close so early at 6pm but that seems to be all vegan places.

    LARGE - Philly...SO good!

Amazingly flavorful food and friendly staff!!! I also had the fried mushrooms which were so good I forgot to photograph them!!!

Heavy Eye Roll - Hammy & Cheese, missing fries that were supposed to be included per menu

We were excited to find another vegan restaurant that has a decent menu selection. Unfortunately, we may have visited on a day that their staff was having a bad day. The service was mediocre, as in they seemed annoyed that we were there, and should have been excited to have new clientele. As I have read through other reviews, I've seen a pattern concerning the male figure who also works there, bald with tattoos, having a negative disposition towards customers. This negativity sadly goes into the food that they prepare. As you will see from the photos I have included, the food was not great. The five dollar sweet tea tasted good, but should include free refills, since the cup isn't that big for a large. Other than the Na'Arby's sandwich, all the breads and meats were extremely dry. The Cuban needed more mustard or sauce of some type to help with flavor. The Sautéed Jerk Collards tasted OK, but we're very salty. Even though my daughter liked the Whatever! - Chickun Strips with fries, they were way overpriced for 3 small pieces less than 3" each. The Heavy Eye Roll - Hammy & Cheese was the most dry and difficult to eat, and was also missing fries that we were charged for but not provided. Last, but not least, a little good news, and so glad I ordered them. The Fried tofu bites and Honest fil-A sauce were the best out of everything. Now onto ambiance. We enjoyed getting to play a board game with our son while our daughter relaxed on the small sofa. Overall, we wish this place the best, but considering what the vegan movement is supposed to stand for with love and peace, they may need to focus more on those two aspects to enhance their food and ambiance.

Large Italian (only half shown i had already eaten the first half lol) 4/5 stars!

I've been trying every plant based, vegan restaurant as they pop up and Honest Pastures has the best tasting food I've had yet. They score very high in the areas plant based places around here tend to lack in: flavor, quality of bread, execution. We had gyros and Italian subs and they were spot on. Soft bread, accurate flavors and good textures. And please don't underestimate the importance of the bread comment. SO MANY plant based places I've been fall flat on their faces when it comes to the bread. And it ruins the sandwich. This place has it figured out !Everything was outstanding. In addition, their customer service was excellent too. We were late picking up our order and they hung around until we could come and get it. 5 stars across the board we'll be frequenting them going forward.

The Hot Chick and seasoned fries

Fabtastic vegan spot. I've been twice. This last visit, I tried The Hot Chick, rosemarry fries, the smore cookie, and chocolate chip cookie. My first visit I had a brunch platter (don't remember exactly which one, nothing noteworthy), and the person I was with got the french toast, which she raved about. Staff is friendly. Seating is available. Aside from menu items, they also have items for sale such as vegan cheese, desserts, etc.

First time here and won't be my last when I'm on this side of town! I've been meaning to stop by my buddies locally owned vegan spot and it did not disappoint! I got the gyro with air fried fries that taste like they were fried, you know I had to try all the cookies there as well, delicious! I have to bring the wife and kid here! Thanks friends!

Small take out type deli setting. Food was delicious and the customer service was phenomenal. Definitely worth the drive from the peninsula!

Turns out this is the former Route 58 Deli which was a staple in the area. Channel 13 even had a Friday Flavor piece on them back in January highlighting the new business which opened up almost a year ago. Let's see how the visit turned out. Sophia and I stopped by a couple of weekends ago. The time we came, there weren't a lot of customers inside which was just fine with us. The decor was spotless and neat. Just the same compared to the Route 58 days. There have been changes since new ownership took place, but for previous fans in the area, they should be satisfied. Sophia and I wasted no time in placing our order. We picked the $20 Ultimate Breakfast platter which came with Italian sausage, eggs (mine were scrambled and Sophia's were fried hard), hash browns, pancakes (Sophia had strawberry toppings added) and rye bread topped with butter. The both of us enjoyed our meal and became full. It wasn't the best breakfast I've ever had, but if you don't want to break your wallet, deals like this are worth taking. If you come here during breakfast hours, keep in mind this is for 8:00-10:30am. And we also had coffee to go with water for beverages. I was so glad we were able to come here and give them a try. You know we'll be back again soon. Till next time :)

I got the hotdogs because they looked so good, and I was not disappointed! A large glob of cheese rested upon a perfectly flavored chili. My friend got a large deli sandwich with buttery grilled toast and homemade pickles. To end we split a piece of their in house cheesecake- it was decadent! On the way out the owner, who happens to be the mom of George and Sam spoke to us about her passion for the cuisine and pride in her food! She was very kind and excited about the business. All wait staff was equally attentive and happy to serve. We will definitely be back!

A little hole in the wall, but kind people and good food. It was our first time here, my dad and I,…read moreso we had a few questions about the menu. The woman at the counter was very helpful and nice, explaining things to us. He decided on a cheesesteak and I got a veggie, and we got fries to split between us. Food came to us in roughly 15 minutes. In the meantime we sat and drank our teas. He got it unsweetened, while I got the sweet. Their tea is actually quite nice, although it is sweet, it's not like super sweet, you can taste the black tea on the back of your throat at the end a little. As far as food goes, it was pretty good. I like the fact that there were different types of cheeses on the veggie, and you could choose between it being hot or cold, I got cold. The bread is squishy and soft, which can be nice, but I wanted a more sturdier bread. Next time, I'll ask for it to be toasted. I'm also a person who likes mayo and mustard on it, but instead I just had their oil and vinegar, which I didn't enjoy as much. It was a little drippy because of it, but it didn't get soggy, and didn't make too much of a mess. Their fries were really good though. Nicely seasoned, and had a good crisp to them on the outside while the inside was soft. I ate them without ketchup, but they do have some on the tables if you like them like that. My dad really enjoyed his cheesesteak, and after having a bite, I can see why. The meat is tender and flavorful, nicely shredded so it just melts in your mouth. Nothing chewy about it. One of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had, even though it was only my second time. He also thought the bread could be more sturdy, but other than that it was great! Our total for everything was a little over $20 including tip. Definitely will be back to try more sometime!
