From the Greek Chick sandwich with added vegan feta (my daughter's favorite) to the mouthwatering "Beaf "Philly Cheesesteak and the irresistible Pimento Chick Sandwich (an improved amazing version of Chick Fil A's original), each menu item shows how much time, effort, love, and skill the owner/chefs have poured into crafting vegan food that even the staunchest carnivore will enjoy. Honest Pastures has also figured out the difficult arena of vegan baking, and they do it VERY well! There are changing offerings of cupcakes, cookies, and breads that are impossible to distinguish from the non-vegan versions from the bakery down the street. Recently they added a breakfast roll with vegan egg, cheese, and "bakun", and I purchased several to freeze and reheat for meals - they are better than anything I had before becoming vegan! My "kids" (ages 17 & 19) and I had lunch at Honest Pastures yesterday. We've all become interested in the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle and were inspired by Dacia and her passion. The food is amazing. I had the Honest burger melt and fries: the vegan burger was seasoned to perfection and absolutely delicious. My stepdaughter enjoyed the Grinder (since giving up meat, she has missed deli-style sandwiches) and loved it. My son had the Cuban and also thought it was fantastic. The staff was super friendly and the seating area is warm and inviting, including a comfy couch and coffee table with important reading material about animal rights and veganism. While looking for vegan caterers for our son's engagement party (he and his finance have been vegan for 5 years) we visited Honest Pastures - I notified the owners - Dacia & Curtis - that we would be stopping by. My husband and I ordered lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Afterwards, Dacia spent spent quite a bit of time sharing other foods they offered and discussing what we needed. The personal touch and attention to detail that Dacia and Curtis provided was phenomenal as compared to 5 other caterers I was in contact with. Our order consisted of subs, sides (pictured below) We missed getting pictures of the amazing cheese spread they offer, lavender lemonade and the cheesecake slices. All I want is turkey/prov/mayo on a good bread. Every, single, day. Bergeys was too far of a drive bc I was already starving and I live on Great Neck. No I am not eating at f*cking Subway. No I am not eating a boxed 7-11 sandwich. I NEED A BODEGA! A real deli! Quick little Yelp search and there she was... Honest Pastures. And it's all vegan so no worries of any "weird meats" upsetting my stomach (yes, I also have food sensory issues so quality is HUGE for me & my OCD). I got the lunchbox turkey & cheese, AMAZING. I also got the tomato/cucumber salad, SO GOOD, and the veggeroni pasta salad ALSO FRIGGIN GOOD. The fam got a French dip, fantastic, and a Grinder, perfection. None of us are vegan. And none of us could tell this food was vegan, except that afterwards we actually felt good inside our bodies Thank you SO much for being better than expected, better than I could've hoped for. We are here from the DC area for a few days and I've already been to this place twice. The staff were friendly and very helpful. On my first visit, I was so overwhelmed by the menu I couldn't decide what to get because there were so many options and everything looked so appetizing. So I wound up asking about their most popular item, which happened to be the Philly! I got the foot long with the roast beaf and chickun with a side of seasoned fries and the meal was really tasty. It was very filling and I wound up taking half of it to go! Also got a few freshly baked cookies and they were outstanding! My next visit I opted for the Flaming Hot Burger and seasoned fries (and more cookies) to go, and this meal was even better! The bun was nice and soft, the cheese melty, and the combination of toppings made for one of the most delicious vegan burgers I've ever had. I wish I'd ordered two!! We have a couple more days left here and I plan on one more visit so I can order the Grinder (and more cookies for the road trip home). I have now tried four of their menu items: the the gyro; Philly cheese steak, Chicago hotdog; and, Tuna Wrap. They are all exceptional. Honest Pastures does not just replace meet and dairy, they put their own spin in their creations. The tuna tasted a bit too fish for me and considering it is vegan - the chef knows what he/she is doing.
