I recently visited First Watch in Richardson and left feeling quite let down. The service and food quality did not meet my expectations for a brunch spot. Our appetizer arrived lukewarm and was served at the same time as our main dishes, despite being ordered with drinks. The waitstaff seemed to neglect checking in on us; our coffee carafe was empty for quite some time, as were our water glasses. To make matters worse, our plates were not cleared after we finished eating, which only added to the feeling of being forgotten. I ordered the Trifecta with a carrot cake pancake, expecting something special, but it turned out to be just a basic pancake with carrots, raisins, and nuts added. It lacked the unique flavors and creativity I had hoped for, making it not worth the trip or the money. To top it off, the table across from us sent back an order. As one partner finished eating, the other's new dish arrived. This just added to the sense of disorganization in the restaurant. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning to this First Watch location anytime soon. There are plenty of other brunch spots that offer better service and more memorable meals. read more

We were seated immediately which was appreciated. Service was a tad slow and they weren't that crowded so not sure why it was so slow. There were people who came in 10-15 minutes after us they got their food before we did. Service: 4/10 they weren't crowded and service was a little slow for my liking. I am a frequent flyer at First Watch and have been to many of their locations and it has always been A+. My daughter and I were in Dallas for a funeral and stopped in. Our server, Kortabia was amazing. Her energy was contagious and was just pleasant. Too many people are quick to write negative reviews or complain. I wanted to have breakfast at First Watch for a second time in a week. Yeah I enjoyed dining at First Watch in Hurst, TX. so much I wanted to find one close in the area that I was in. Normally I get the servers names but this time I neglected to ask her name. I did get the General Manager's name Latisha was very helpful, nice, and knowledgeable. The hostess/greeter was also very sweet as well. The entire staff were in smiles and helping one another out that's definitely what team work is supposed to look like. Very good breakfast this morning with Boss Lady, but I wish I could have said "great breakfast." Although the dishes came out quick and hot. It needs just a few tweaks. My smoked salmon and veg fritatta was good, but whatever white sauce that was streamed on top of it was too much, and my "toast" wasn't. Her BLT benedict was tasty, but the bread was hard to cut, and the potatoes needed more crust and flavor. Our server was super sweet and gave us a cinnamon roll because it was National Kindness Day. If you want a nourishing breakfast, this is the place to go! The food is fresh, healthy and absolutely delicious! I love their lunch options more than breakfast because the portion sizes are just perfect. The tomato basil soup is fantastic with a sandwich. Also the beet orange juice is sp refreshing and it just looks nutritious. Our server was attentive and recommended great choices for my friend. It is always busy since they're opened for lunch and dinner. Despite this, the restrooms and the entire place are very clean. This is one of my favorite breakfast restaurants! Used to be a regular, the food is truly outstanding, unique never had a bad meal. I guess why I stopped coming was they just cramped so many people into such a small space that it just wasn't enjoyable. My first experience with first watch was at their Plano location, which has a much larger venue, this is a little bit too crowded and sparse in atmosphere resulting in just way too much noise and feeling I was being rushed in and rushed out. They are popular and you will have to wait at certain times because the line will be out the door, but in terms of a place to go and have a relaxing meal this is not it for me. It's a shame when businesses become popular they feel they need to cram every inch of the place with tables, they forget it's not all about the food. It's about the overall experience, unfortunately, some businesses make it all about the dollar and not the customers experience. read more

The Works, yummy bacon, onions, ham, sausage, mushrooms, fluffy eggs, and dollop of sour cream hits the spot. So good! With creamy grits on the side, this just adds to the goodness of this breakfast. Considering this is not what I ordered, this order was a wash. As someone who used to deliver for DoorDash, I do understand this is one of the more popular restaurants. At least I know it was in Fort Worth, but cooks and/or whoever is verifying orders, it would really be helpful if you were double checking before packing someone's order especially with these delivery services. read more

Definitely a great breakfast spot! I got the Farmhouse Skillet Hash which is served with two cage-free eggs any way you want on top of fresh, seasoned potatoes. It comes with whole grain artisan toast with all-natural house preserves. There's three different skillet hash options and the Farmhouse one comes with bacon, avocado, house-roasted onions and tomatoes with Cheddar and Monterey Jack. My friend got the Power Breakfast Quinoa Bowl and we shared the Million Dollar Bacon. Also tried the Morning Meditation juice which has orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet. Everything tasted so fresh and healthy. Service was fast, everyone was super friendly, and when you're done, you pay up front. This is for sure a spot I'll be visiting again. read more

I was terribly disappointed on our visit to this location. We were here recently (our first time to eat at a First Watch) and enjoyed the experience. Came back to the same FW yesterday and it was a huge disappointment. The food was mediocre and the service was deplorable. Both of our orders were prepared incorrectly. The meals were partially corrected. I'm not sure if all the FW are run the same way, but we will not be returning. I understand mistakes are made, but the "attitude" with the correction is the key. read more

Lamia took amazing care of me and my family. We started with the Pumpkin Spice Donuts. They are delicious on their own, with the sweet cream they elevate to the next level. I had the Kale Tonic to drink which has the greens I need and the sweet taste I crave. Hits the spot every-time! Hubby had the Blazing Dragon to drink and he really enjoyed it. My son (8) drank decaf pumpkin coffee with creamer and sugar. For breakfast hubby had the Breakfast Tacos and subbed the black beans for the million dollar breakfast potatoes. These are his absolute favorite! I got the Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast, a side of buttered wheat toast, million dollar bacon, and chicken apple sausage patty. The Pumpkin girlie in me rejoiced! The pumpkin pancake was so flavorful, airy, and cooked perfectly! My son had the kid's chocolate chip pancake with bacon. He loves the pancakes and bacon cooked perfectly! We love first watch. You can look around and see everyone ongoing their food whether it's lunch or breakfast. First time going to first watch in a while & first time at this location. We arrived around 11:15, and there was already a 20-30 min wait. Once seated our server was super friendly and helpful in deciding what to order. Initially I ordered the "birria style quesadilla" but unfortunately it was a total fail. It was just okay. If you've have had authentic Mexican birria, this fish simply does not compare. I didn't think it should bring that first watch is an American cafe but it was just too off. The breakfast tacos were good, I recommend ordering a side of sour cream or salsa to add some moisture. I love spicy food so I also added hot sauce. The chickichanga was great. I wouldn't do anything different with that dish. The drinks were both amazing, the purple haze is a mix between lemonade and lavender. It was super refreshing, light and tart but it too sweet. I made the move from San Diego to Texas on 4/13/22. I purchased a home, but couldn't move in until today ( 5/15/22 ). I stayed at an Extended Stay America hotel during this time. First Watch is directly across the street. I went every Saturday and Sunday during my stay at the hotel. The food is amazing, every person There is super friendly. The restaurant is very clean, I was impressed by everything. There were three meals I tried, two of them on rotation and one just to try something new. On their seasonal menu is the Crab Cake Benedict. I'm from Maryland and take crab cakes rather seriously. These did not disappoint. The only thing I changed was the bread, I don't like hard bread so I switched to Sourdough. Everything else was fantastic. I also ordered a side of fruit. The second meal in my rotation is on their regular menu, the chicchango ( don't trust my spelling here ) I was floored by how good this was. I changed NOTHING because it is perfect as is. Today, I tried the chorizo omelette. While I wasn't blown away like I was with the other two, this was still very good. Came on a busy Sunday, the place was packed, we waited 20 minutes to be seated. I had First Watch several times in the Colorado location, loved it and so glad we have several of it in Texas location. The kale tonic- marvelous, tasted like an upgraded apple juice. My favorite go-to drink, very refreshing. Pancakes bacon and egg- cooked perfectly and the bacon has the perfect crunch. We had an incredibly disappointing experience today at this location. We come here at least once a month and have tried multiple other locations but this is our favorite because the service and staff are equally as good as the food. We usually come only on the weekends, but we had off work today (Monday) and decided to come. We also figured since the restaurant was fairly empty, especially compared to the weekend, our food would be outstanding. Not so. I ordered eggs Benedict Florentine. I asked for solid whites when the waiter took my order. When my food came, I could see from a distance that the eggs were way too loose and jiggly and when I cut into them, the whites were raw nearer to the yolk. When I cut into them, the whites ran down onto the plate. I asked again for the eggs to be remade with solid whites...and again, the eggs came almost identical to the first time. I gave up and asked for just basted eggs...then when those came, around the yolk was runny as well. So, I ate spinach, tomato and avocado for breakfast. The bread wasn't even toasted underneath the runny eggs, so I didn't eat that, either. Each time the waiter was very apologetic and tried to be accommodating. After breakfast, the manager came over and said she understood that we weren't happy and asked what happened. After we explained, she had the NERVE to tell me that SHE ate my second attempt at poached eggs and it was fine - actually good. Essentially telling me she liked them and I'm being a pain for insisting I get what I asked for. Good for you, lady...that's not what I asked for - I asked for solid whites. They took my meal off the bill, but quite reluctantly. I'm actually so angry and really disappointed as this is my favorite breakfast place. This is NOT the way I have been treated here in the past. Both the staff and the management have been exceedingly helpful and so friendly in the past. I'm not sure if the weekend staff and management are different than during the week, but if this is the new management and staff, we won't be back. I think on yelp this location always used to be in the high 4's for scores, but I looked after we left and realized it's definitely gone down. So sad, really. read more

I'm not one to leave negative reviews lightly, but I feel it's important to warn others--this First Watch location has gone downhill fast. We were compensated for previous mistakes, yet they *still* failed to get our order to us in a timely manner! Orders are consistently late, they don't provide all the items you order, and the service has become unacceptably poor. The staff seems uninterested in providing even basic friendliness, let alone the welcoming atmosphere First Watch used to be known for. It's incredibly frustrating to see such a decline in quality and service, and it's disappointing that this location can't seem to get it together. Fast and friendly service. Went for early brunch on Sunday. Half our party was kids but we were quickly accommodated. Lots of options for little kids, even if they are picky eaters. We had a great lunch today. Their butternut squash bisque was amazing. We both enjoyed our quinoa bowl, and we liked the kale juice and morning meditation juice. We joked that we wish they had a juice "flight" so we could try all three flavors. The food was fresh and very tasty. We both wished their was more kale in the bowl- it seemed a bit sparse. The service was good, and the restrooms were clean with paper towels, which I appreciate. I would love to see them offer gluten free pancakes or waffles, especially their special flavors, such as pumpkin. But I understand that it is tough to tackle.
