"What?" That was the question we continued to ask each other while trying to carry on a conversation as the Honey-Jam Cafe is just that - JAMMED! That's honestly the only downside to this most obvious popular establishment. Seriously, the service is spectacular; however, there is no easy way to converse with your family or friends. This is our second trip to this location, and they do accommodate larger parties- and that's a huge plus. We had a 9:30am reservation and were seated as soon as all members of our family were accounted for: 9:35ish. What's especially nice is not having to reach for anything other than one's shared food, because the bigger tables are provided extra condiments and crafts of both water and coffee. So... if you're there to eat, this is your place. But... if you are there for conversation, choose somewhere less spacious and crowded. Now... let's not ignore the food, right? I'm not a fan of anything sticky, but the rest of our party enjoyed the shared monkey bread appetizer. (It takes some time, so be certain to order it immediately when seated.) 11 of our family members including four kids had breakfast at the Bolingbrook location today, June 14, 2026. The food was fantastic! Everything had something different and we were able to share. The menu items we tried included French toast, eggs Benedict, crepes , blueberry pancakes, grilled cheese, m&m pancakes, superhero kids meal and a blueberry lemonade! The service was magnificent! First, for having 11 people in our party on a Sunday, we were seated really quickly. Veronica B was our server and we could tell she was an experienced server. She took our orders with ease, has no problem with substitutions, was friendly with the adults and kids alike and even approached one mom in the group to check on something for an order discreetly. Then, the food came out faster than we expected. The portions were huge and most people in the group couldn't finish all that was on their plates. Visited Honey Jam Cafe in Bolingbrook with a group of 20 to celebrate a birthday! My MIL called ahead to organize accommodations for our larger group and their team was happy to do so. The restaurant was large so pushing tables together in a more secluded space was easy. Our waitress was amazing with refilling water & coffee, taking everyone's order, and being kind to all. All the food came out quickly and correct to preferences. I personally got the Biscuits and Gravy which I thoroughly enjoyed! Their menu had a good variety of food and drinks to cover any brunch/lunch craving. This is for the Bolingbrook location!!!! First of all We had terrible service..slow, they forgot multiple items asked for, gave us wrong items and then were overcharged. Our Drinks were never refilled. Some items were never made it to the table. When I complained to the hostess the response" well it close to closing time" (it was 1:45 they close at 3:00). Second the food was bland. My skillet had almost no cheese and missing ingredients. An other skillet had raw vegetables. My daughter's French toast was not cooked through. We tried to very respectfully let people know there were problems but no one seemed to care. So ask yourself do you want to go eat where the staff just doesn't care? Not me! read more

My adult daughter and I stopped in this morning for the first time hoping to find a breakfast place that she would like. The place was not busy at all, there was one other table seated in our area, but it was a Tuesday so maybe that makes a difference. Even though we were seated quickly by a very friendly hostess, that's where it all ended. Waitress finally came over to get our drink order and during that time she never even looked at us. She was more interested in what was going on somewhere to the left of our table (possibly the back food area). She never even asked if we were ready to order our food or if we had any questions, nothing. It was like she/we were not even there. When she brought us our drinks there was not a word out of her and she basically threw the drinks on the table (I'm not exaggerating about this, they were literally dropped on the table). She was gone before she even arrived at the table! I had ordered a decaf coffee, which came in a cute mug with a very sticky handle that I had to clean off using my only napkin. Why is it so difficult for these restaurants to make a decent cup of coffee???!!! No wonder they have so many fancy coffee drinks, no one can stand the straight coffee!! And then about 5 minuets later she drove-by and threw down 2 glasses of water, that we never asked for. Another 5 minuets and we still have not ordered. By the time the waitress came back to take our order, my daughter figured out that the soda she had ordered had a bad taste to it (like she was not even going to drink it taste) so I asked what brand of root beer they had. She didn't understand the question at all and after a few seconds said she would have to ask her manager???? Really???? So my daughter passed on that as she was worried we might never see her again, and we quickly ordered. She also did a drive-by delivery of a large syrup pitcher, which one of us was going to use that? Made us nearly jump out of our seats. Food came quickly, but was NOT delivered by the waitress, so we had to claim our meals. I ordered the most savory crepe meal I could find on the menu - West Coast Crepes & my daughter was excited to have the potato pancakes w/ bacon on the side. My crepes were not a savory as I was hoping for & the Hollandaise sauce was in a tiny little cup, not enough to cover even one of the crepes. They were edible though and I finished them. I don't think they were worth the $16+. My daughter's potato pancakes were strange & I can only describe them as some sort of floury mess with a bit of potato mixed in. Hashbrowns have more potato than what she got. Way too thick and not much flavor & lacking the minced onions that should be there. Take it from a German, there was nothing German about these pancakes. She was not able to eat them. And the bacon was way undercooked. Soon after our meals arrived (remember NOT delivered by our waitress) another waitress stopped by to get me a refill on my coffee & some napkins that I requested. Not a single visit from anyone else to check on how we were doing or to refill our drinks. I'm not sure why or how this place gets great reviews, but the food is not worth my time to wait for the lack of service that this restaurant has, or better yet doesn't have. I get better service at a fast food drive thru! And after $50 bill, it left a sour taste in my mouth. Went in at 7am on a weekday. No one and I mean no one was in there. Still, service was great. Had the place to ourselves, as I went for breakfast after nightshift with a work colleague. I had the Divorciados. Excellente! One part of the dish has bacon and salsa verde(green salsa) & the other half of the plate has Chorizo & salsa rojo (red salsa). This is placed on a lovely bed of homemade tortilla chips, black beans, mozzarella cheese, two eggs sunny side up, avocado, and sour cream. I think I ate the whole thing and stuffed myself. Uggh! Me and my mom went to Honey Jam for lunch, the guy at the drinks station took us to our seats, very pleasant gentleman. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She highly recommend the green goddess chicken sandwich, it is one of the spring menu specials. It was 18.99 and comes with a choice of a free side you can 4 different types of fries, house made chips, or cup of soup as your side I chose their curly fries as my side. The service was amazing and very fast, my mom only ordered a side of onion rings, and yes they are the real onion rings if anyone is curious. I loved the taste of my food the Multigrain toast had a hearty crunch from it being toasted loved the melty swiss cheese the avocado is creamy and the green goddess spread is nice but had a light flavor. The grilled chicken on the sandwich was juicy and cooked perfectly not overcooked or dry. The curly fries are not like Arby's seasoned curly fries, they are crispy and great with ketchup. I put 5 curly fries in my sandwich as a little hack, because it was missing a crunchy element that solved it a bit it added a nice little crunch to the sandwich. I was satisfied with what I got because I ate it all and shared 3 curly fries with my mom she really liked them. Wish my mom can try out some more of their food you can get a half sandwich and a cup of soup or salad along with a choice of side for a decent price. The only constructive criticism I have is please have more options for soup of the day available not everyone likes a certain flavor of soups, so maybe have a backup soup flavor of the day like minestrone, or broccoli cheddar or chicken noodle and not just one flavor. Meh. We stopped here on the way home from the airport, as they were open bright and early at 6:30 am. We started our meal off with the Honey Jam Biscuits. Given that they were named after the restaurant, we expected them to be great and ordered four of them for the two of us. However, they arrived barely warm and odd looking. They looked like shapeless drop biscuits. They tasted like literally nothing--white bread had more flavor. What's worse, the texture was just weird. This isn't how you want a meal to start off. For my entree, I ordered the bacon avocado benedict with hash browns. My mom had the corned beef scramble with pancakes. We were both wholly underwhelmed. My benedict was supposed to be prepared with medium poached eggs, yet they were super runny and not medium poached at all. The hollandaise, usually the star of any benedict, was memorable only by its tastelessness. The hash browns were cold and again, bland. My mom couldn't even finish her scramble, which was lacking cheese and other pertinent ingredients. The only redeeming factor of this meal was the nice waitstaff and the standard fare pancakes.
