    Breakfast Tacos
    Patti L.

We wanted to change in our regular breakfast place. My aunt had eaten here over the weekend, and they loved it. So when we decided to go to breakfast, I was thinking we were going to go to our regular place. She said let's go to Honey Jam. Being a workday, it wasn't crowded at all. We we had a booth in the back of the restaurant. Our server Lupe was very nice and sweet since we were catching up. She didn't want to keep asking us if we were ready. So she told us that she will wait for us. There are so many options so we looked through the menu a few times. When she was here over the weekend, someone had ordered the breakfast tacos. So she had a taste for the breakfast tacos and that's what she ordered. I saw avocado on sourdough bread and that was mine. She said the tater tots are really good. And asked for them to be crispy. When the food came, it looked delicious. There were three tacos in the breakfast tacos and looked so filling. The avocado toast looked good. And I was ready to dig in. The tater tots crisped up were delicious. I asked for over easy eggs on my avocado toast. The yolk used over the toast and it was so good. I would come back to try other things. The staff is friendly. We will be back.

It was nice seeing Valerie today who didn't want to serve us (kidding) and handed us off to Johnny, who was super attentive and continuously followed up to make sure we're okay. Also got to see Erica who keeps things running smoothly as always. Best surprise was getting to see Emma who just got back last night. She made my day recognizing me after 6 months being away and shared her good news and fun adventures ahead. This place is a home away from home for me on top of the delicious food and fresh atmosphere.

This was our first time coming to this location for lunch. Huge parking lot. We walked in and were greeted within a min. We were seated immediately even though it was packed. We ordered strawberry orange juice, horchata coffee, supreme omelette with pumpkin pancakes, and potato pancake benedict. The food was pretty solid. The strawberry orange juice was made fresh and definitely worth getting. Food portions were generous so you could bring home leftovers. Quality of food was good, nothing was poor. Service was attentive.

Have always had a great experience at Honey Jam. This is one of my family's favorite diners to stop by in the area for a quick breakfast. The servers are friendly, the service and wait time is fast and efficient, and the portions are quite generous. I usually have leftovers I can take home to make an extra meal or hearty snack out of. Lately, they've been doing some renovations in the restaurant. We got to dine in one of the rooms towards the back that seem to be recently finished. It was extremely clean and welcoming to sit in. My favorite things to order here are the nova lox, Reuben, pancakes, and Horchata coffee. I highly recommend the blueberry pancakes. These are topped with a delicious tangy and sweet blueberry compote as well as swirls of cream cheese frosting. Will definitely be back!

    Honey Jam coffee is fantastic!

We've been here before but they still haven't updated their new restaurant location so I'll help them out a bit.. This was the former Downers Delight Restaurant. I guess the owner's retired and now it is Honey- Jam Cafe. I usually get their Country Benedict which is a split biscuit topped with savory sausage patties, sausage gravy and two poached eggs. Killer sausage gravy!! Everything is excellent- nice and very friendly staff. Definitely come check them out you won't be disappointed! Yummmm!!

There's definitely no shortage of breakfast restaurants in my area and I'm determined to try each one. We come very early since we have a toddler and it makes it easier on us when it's not crowded or busy. My husband got the strawberry crepes, I got Julian's benedict and I always get a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy because it's a guilty pleasure of mine. They serve their coffee in cute mugs and the OJ was good. I appreciate that they made my dish without salt for me. The biscuits and gravy are decent, I always add a heavy dusting of pepper. I heard no complaints about the crepes. Portions were generous, we had enough for another meal. Service was good and quick, again we were there at like 8a so not many tables taken.

SMOTHERED BISCUIT AND GRAVY SKILLET and Lemonberry Cheescake Pancakes

Our server Guadalupe was great, very attentive and nice, and she split our meal for us and it was so much food. Everything was amazing. We will be back for sure.

    Almost $20 for a $10 unhappy meal!

I must say that while the food quality and portion have decreased, it seems the prices increased...the food to price ratio is off. I've been a patron of Honey Jam for over 10 years, the highlight of starting off my Saturday mornings and recently my occasional weekday visits. But I can no longer justify paying for the diminishing value. Popeye (scrambler) without the spinach is blasphemy! Very miniscule portions of spinach and bacon, a few mushrooms here and there. One time, my OJ was diluted, in color and taste. These scattered, crispy, hash browns aren't the greatest either... everything screams cheap!!! I'm starting to wonder if all the renovations and acquisitions are causing a pinch??? Nonetheless, the service is always impeccable...I just wish the food was too.

    Ready to refill our drinks.

Our nephew was in from Tokyo and we had the opportunity to take him out for lunch. We've been to Honey Jam's predecessor for breakfast and loved it, but it was lunch time and I didn't think we were out for breakfast. Our nephew chose a wonderful meal with blueberry pancakes. My wife went to her favorite soup and I decided on something in between Divorciados. I first have to say that our server/waiter was awesome. He recognized we were not in a hurry, giving us time to review the menu to make our decisions. He asked for our drinks and I have to say you could get more than coffee and tea. We settled on sweet tea, tea and diet Pepsi for me. Conversation continued while we anticipated our meals and there was no rush to finish, but just an occasional check in if we needed anything from our waiter. Our meals were great perfectly cooked at an optimal temperature when served. Please see my photos for how they looked. We'll be back again

You could drive right by thinking it was a vacant building except for all the cars in the lot. The notion of vacant building is dispelled immediately upon entry. The place is busy, loud, vibrant with customers clearly enjoying the food and experience. The interior is decorated simply, with muted colors, is well lit, and clean. There are a lot of hard surfaces which makes the ambient noise level fairly high; however, it did not detract from the experience (but just be advised in case you feel this is bothersome). We were greeted warmly and though the place was packed, we were seated quickly. Despite the diner-like vibe, there is no counter, just tables and booths. Our server was prompt, very pleasant, and efficient. The coffee was hot and flavorful. The food: Large portions, well prepared, warm, savory, satisfying. The loaded Cheers omelette, with hash browns and pancakes, was more food than I could enjoy in one sitting so I have leftovers for tomorrow. Prices are in line with more reasonably priced independent eateries. A two-egg, hash browns, pancake combo is $14. This place will be an option in the future.

This place has gone through a number of makeovers over the years but it is decidedly a sports bar vibe where you enter the space and traditional restaurant in the back area. Overall a very casual and lively vibe. We waited about 15 minutes with a packed house and were seated in the restaurant portion in a very spacious booth. Our server was prompt, courteous, pleasant, and efficient--attentive but not overly so. The food was excellent with very ample portions at reasonable pricing with many options under $20. I will say they could skip the bread basket before your meal comes out and just put it into giving you a side with the sandwiches versus charging you $2 for each side added. That being said the food came out promptly, was warm, and very satisfying. Hopefully Chuck's keeps value for customers' hard earned buck in mind and they will continue to do well.

They also feature an extensive craft beer selection. I went with the seasonal Abita Bad Mother Shucker Stout, which was a fun nod to Mardi Gras and a solid stout choice for the occasion. For my entrée, I ordered the Mardi Gras Platter ($32.99). It included: * Choice of soup (I chose the seafood chowder) * Shrimp Creole * Jambalaya * Chicken Étouffée * Crawfish & Shrimp Monica * Broccoli The restaurant was busy, which is understandable for Fat Tuesday, but our food took quite a while to arrive. The soup was delivered at the same time as the platter. In my opinion, the soup should have come out first. Ironically, the seafood chowder ended up being the highlight of the meal--rich, flavorful, and well-balanced. Unfortunately, by the time I finished the soup and moved on to the platter, most of it was only room temperature. The items were layered and grouped together in a way that made it unclear what paired with what. The chicken was noticeably overcooked and lacked depth of flavor. It tasted as though Cajun seasoning had simply been sprinkled on top rather than developed into the dish. Overall, the platter lacked the bold, authentic Cajun flavor profile I was expecting. The Crawfish & Shrimp Monica was advertised as coming in a bowl but was served in what amounted to a cup-sized portion. The menu description listed Cajun Alfredo sauce, crawfish, crab, blackened shrimp, pasta, Parmesan cheese, and broccoli. After mixing in the Parmesan, I searched for the seafood components and found none--no visible crab, crawfish, or blackened shrimp in the pasta. I mentioned this to the bartender, who said they would bring some out to add in. A few minutes later, three Cajun shrimp were delivered. There was still no crab or crawfish. While the Alfredo sauce and pasta themselves were very good, the absence of the advertised proteins significantly hurt the dish. Had I ordered the Crawfish & Shrimp Monica on its own for $24.99 and received the same portion and lack of seafood, I would have been extremely disappointed. Overall, while the concept and menu sounded promising for Mardi Gras, the execution--especially at that price point--left a lot to be desired.

Maybe the bread wasn't fresh, the lunch meat tasted processed, or the quality just wasn't consistent. Tony & Tina's Deli is the first place that has truly become my go-to. I absolutely love their subs, especially the Brayden. I always order the large, and it's packed with so much fresh meat that I can give a generous portion of the turkey to my toddler as a snack and still have a full sandwich left for myself. That's saying something! Their potato salad is also outstanding. It tastes homemade, not like something scooped out of a mass-produced container. It's exactly the kind of potato salad you picture enjoying on a hot summer day. What really sets Tony & Tina's apart is the customer service. The owners genuinely care about their customers. I've only had one issue, and it wasn't even their fault. It was a delivery service problem. They personally responded and made sure everything was handled professionally and promptly. If you haven't been there yet, give them a try. Grab a sandwich, check out the desserts, and if you're feeling lucky, they even have gaming machines.
