Now the sandwich wasn't cheap, but it was well worth it, and we luckily got some seating and some rest from the rain while enjoying our really good food! My boyfriend got the Cuban, he was a bit worried because he hadn't had the sandwich before, but I knew he would like it so I ordered it for him and someone ate their entire sandwich (not me) so let that speak for itself! They make sure to pile those sandwiches high with meat, and they move so quickly our food came out, not even 10 minutes after we put our orders in and we were starving so it was much appreciated after walking the strip in Gatlinburg. It is tucked away a bit from the main road, but if you walk back, you'll see it, there's a bit of indoor seating, ample outdoor seating, but you just have to help the weather agrees with you. It's really active because the amount of people hoping to try the sandwiches, and it seems like they do happen to run out of the meat for the platters and what meat is left, they prioritize using it on the sandwiches.

Our waitress informed us that sawyers has a "rule" that once we have ordered, my husband would not be able to even come to the table. Whatever I ordered for him would be packed in a to-go box but he couldn't eat it in the restaurant nor at the table. He'd have ti eat it outside. They were NOT busy. Maybe 10 families at best in the restaurant. I called my husband to tell him this ridiculous rule and he said no, I'll stay in the car and he won't eat breakfast and I insisted that wake our son up and he come inside. It wouldn't be fair to him. Meanwhile, the waitress asked her manager if they could make an exception but my husband was already walking in with my 18 month old. I told her if my son starts screaming because he's tired, not one employee by Sawyers better say anything about it. She said that wouldn't be a problem. I even told her that I know it's not her rule or her fault, but this is ridiculous for families to be subjected to this type of rule. The kids menu does not offer any type of waffle and my 4 year old had her heart set on a waffle. I told her they had m&m pancakes ($6.99) and she was sold on m&m's but not the pancakes. The waitress asked my daughter if she wanted a m&m waffle instead and she could get them to put the m&m's on top but they wouldn't be cooked inside the waffle. My 4 year old was so happy, she even gave the waitress a hug. Waitress was great. Fast forward to the bill, the waffle that the waitress offered my daughter... was $9.99+.99¢ for the m&m's. I didn't say a word about it, I was so aggravated at this point with Sawyer's, it wouldn't have done any good. And once again, the waitress is following the rules. Everyone at the table all said it was a mediocre breakfast at best and we all should have went to Mama's Farmhouse for breakfast instead. Sawyers, DO BETTER. You are an eating establishment in a family friendly tourist town. BE FAMILY FRIENDLY. The rule about not being able to allow my husband join us when my cranky baby is catching a quick nap? That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard and quite offensive considering we are paying customers regardless. Now, when people ask me where to go and where to avoid in Pigeon Forge, Sawyer's will be at the top of the list to avoid.
