Came here for the pineapple upside down pancakes. They didn't disappoint. However, the bacon was a greasy floppy mess even though I ordered it extra crispy. The coffee was strong and the eggs were okay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was good, and the atmosphere was pretty good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We waited probably 15 mins for a table, which wasn't terrible. Overall, it was a decent meal.

We come to Pigeon Forge quite often and never visit the numerous pancake houses. We always go somewhere else. This time we decided to stop and stopped at the first one on the left as your leaving Gatlinburg driving into Pigeon Forge. It's not as big as some of the ones I've seen but don't let that stop you from trying this Gem! Upon arrival everything was decorated so cute for Christmas. The staff were all so nice and chatty. I ordered a omelette with bacon, sausage and ham ( protein ya know ) and it was perfectly cooked. No crispy edges and I had grits and they were delicious. My husband got the corned beef hash and it was so so good and was crispy. Everything was cooked perfectly and they give you your own carafe of coffee . I did get 2 plain pancakes for me and my husband to try and they were so fluffy and the syrup served warm. Definitely don't pass this Gem. I can't wait to go back !

Food quality / price (value) rating 6. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is open cafeteria style.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the plain buttermilk pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes were practically inedible and served with rock hard butter - pretty much useless. The bacon was very low quality and served cold. The wife had a veggie omelet with hash browns. The onelet was okay she said, but the hash browns were served cold.

our server was absolutely amazing. she was super sweet and very helpful! i ordered this veggie omelette but asked for egg whites and added a side of bacon (the meal couldn't be subbed for bacon over the hash browns so i got both and just didn't eat the hash browns.) the omelette was great but needed hot sauce which our waitress was very kind to bring for me. the bacon was crispy and had a very nice flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]i was satisfied with the clean restaurant as well, and would definitely come back![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Food was good and service was great. Our waitress was nice. We had a big group and the food was served fast.

Jessica made our first visit to the Smokys absolutely memorable. It's not every day you meet such a friendly and down to earth server. She truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and even took the time to chat with us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself has a cozy, farm style atmosphere, and the menu is straightforward.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Jessica recommended the pineapple cakes, and they were fantastic! I was really impressed by these warm, fluffy, and decadent cakes, packed with flavor and not overly sweet. They're definitely a must try if you're stopping by for breakfast. Everything else we ordered was great too, including the turkey patties and a single biscuit. The coffee was also good, just your classic diner style brew. But again, the real highlights were our waitress, Jessica, and the delicious pineapple cakes.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was meh-looking, like a random boring diner with booths.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was markedly slow and we were just three people. The blueberry lemon pancake was very good and pretty big. The big bear breakfast platter I had was ho-hum. The scrambled eggs were not good and the grits were bland. The casserole and biscuit were pretty good. The bacon was overdone, crispy and tasteless. There's a million pancake houses in this area, but looks like we chose a somewhat disappointing one. At least the pancake had a flavorful combination so it didn't besmirch their inclusion in the restaurant's name.

The place was very busy and they said there was a wait but the wait was less than 5 mins. Our server was Tony and he was very good at his job and friendly. The food was good for a pancake house my banana nut pancakes were good and delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Like I said the pancake house was crazy busy and tables close together that it could be a bit much so the ambiance was kinda loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall good food but not great, our server was great and the restaurant is busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Side of hash browns

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I saw the health inspection score is 94. I'm not sure why. It was very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My utensils was even warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu was high. The the sides and add ons was a little pricy. The quantity was good. I got the Western omelette with hash browns. My husband got the Cheesecake custard pancakes with blueberries and cream cheese and a side of hashbrowns. My omelette was quite thick, but not runny. So that's good. The hash browns were not as crispy than I expected. My husband loved his pancakes. The waitress was not attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the bathroom sink. It has a design like the old days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Tony was our server, pretty funny guy; "he will attempt to help us out with the menu "and very knowledgeable of the menu. The selections can be upgraded to more food for a small cost.

best breakfast in the smokies, great service and great prices . this is always our first and last breakfast on our trip

Pancakes. Man I wanted to taste this stack of delicious looking carbs but I blinked and they were gone. Thank goodness.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was jumping with business![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Plenty of parking and all through a line we didn't wait long. They know how to flip tables. The food came out quick and was tasty. We were fluid and ready for the day. The staff were so friendly and nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The deco was of course cabin like. Fun things on the wall for conversation and nostalgia.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I had a mountain berry crepe along with pecan pancakes. FOUR BIG pancakes! The bacon was perfectly crispy too - the whole meal was just spot on. And then I looked again, hoping that maybe something low-calorie or nutrient-dense was hiding and I just needed to look harder. Nope. But if you're looking for a sandwich that consists of chicken tenders between two glazed donuts, then this is your place. Sawyer's has other things that are not so county-fair forward. They are known for breakfast: French toast, pancakes, omelettes. If you get pancakes or waffles or the like, you should definitely ask for their house-made peanut butter syrup. It's amazing and so unlike anything that I've ever tasted. I got an omelette, which was good and had a lot of stuff in it. They will give you hot sauce upon request, which I was grateful for because I thought the omelette needed it. One thing that's really cool about Sawyer's is that they seem to take food allergies very seriously. That's always nice to see! As you're entering or exiting, make sure to admire the decor. It looks like you're in a barn, and as you exit, there's a gift shop with stuffed animals, t-shirts and other things to commemorate your visit to Sawyer's. This is a fun little place that's great for families, for sure.

Never have I really ventured outside of that and I couldn't actually tell you why. When my kids and I made a quick 1 day Dollywood trip over to Pigeon Forge, 23 we're looking for a place to eat prior to the big day at the park. What's funny is I relied in Googles AI (Gemini) to tell me where to go. I was driving around and was asking for recommendations. It said Mama's Farmhouse was a popular place to eat for families and it was all-you-can-eat. The kids wanted fried chicken and Salisbury steak, which was in the menu for that day. What a coincidence! If I could summarize it, this is basically a local Cracker Barrel-style restaurant but the food is a lot better. It's tucked away off of a side road off of the main highway 321 road and reminds me a lot of the Applebarn Restaurant down the road. The ambiance is this old timey feel, like many of the establishments around the area. The fried chicken (bone-in), chicken tenders, fries catfish, and Salisbury steak was what we ordered for our mains. Everything was delicious! The seasoning had the perfect amount of salt across all the dishes and sides. The chicken was juicy and tender. The Salisbury steak was solid, some of the best I've ever had. Savory, rich brown gravy, and tender chunks of beef. All the sides were amazing too, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and chicken and dumplings. Honestly there wasn't a negative thing about this place. I would go back in a heartbeat!!

The online menu gave plenty of eye candy and we were absolutely starving by the time we arrived Friday evening. The staff was very attentive and kind. It's clear that this place is fully operated by word-of-mouth and return guests. It's a huge establishment with several rooms by big fireplaces and Lazy Susan's to pass around the family style meal. The menu was a little difficult to navigate so many options laid out, but only certain options available per day. So ultimately, we were not able to order exactly what we wanted, but we ordered what was available for Friday, which was the Salisbury steak, fried fish, and fried chicken. All of these meats came in a small portion to split amongst our three people, and with unlimited sides. Some of the sides were pretty impressive. I would have to say my favorite side was the broccoli casserole, followed by the mashed potatoes and gravy, which were real potatoes! The mac & cheese was more on the creamy side versus the gooey cheesy side. Unfortunately, some of our chicken was undercooked, and the skin was very thin and not too crispy. The fish was decent, not dried out whatsoever, which is a pretty good compliment. While my coworker said that the chicken and dumplings were her favorite, I failed to enjoy them :( All in all, this was not our favorite restaurant from our trip this weekend and it appears that big groups and big families really do enjoy dining at this establishment.

Some attractions sell an experience…read more Some sell a product. The Apple Barn Cider Mill somehow manages to do both. What started as a simple stop turned into one of the more enjoyable experiences of our trip. The star of the visit was our guide, who took us on a cider journey through the various flavors and offerings. She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what she was doing. She answered questions, explained the differences between the ciders, and made the tasting experience fun instead of feeling like a sales pitch. And since there's a chance she might somehow see this review: Happy 40th Birthday! Sorry I forgot your name, but your hospitality certainly wasn't forgettable. Now let's talk about the cider. Excellent. There was a large variety of flavors available to sample, making it easy to compare styles and find a favorite. Whether you're new to cider or consider yourself a seasoned enthusiast, there's enough variety here to keep things interesting. After sampling our way through the lineup, we wound up purchasing a glass of the original apple cider and enjoyed it outside. And honestly, that's where the experience really came together. Sitting outside with a fresh cider in hand, playing cornhole and Jenga, enjoying the atmosphere, and slowing down for a little while made for a genuinely relaxing afternoon. No rushing. No crowds pushing you along. Just good cider and good company. We also picked up a growler to bring back to the hotel because one thing became very clear during the tasting process: leaving empty-handed would have been a mistake. The Apple Barn Cider Mill does a great job creating an experience that's welcoming, fun, and memorable without feeling overly commercialized. Great cider. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Five stars. And judging by the growler currently waiting back at the hotel, I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
