This is my preferred salon. They are always accommodating with walk ins and scheduling. As with many salons, they try to upset you, but will back off when you stick to what you want. I have been having my nails done for 10 years at least. Recently their atmosphere has changed. There are to ladies there that I don't know very well that are not taking the time to carefully do our nails. Prices are up and customer service is down. The owner is a very nice person. She needs to train these other women. I have had in the last 6 months nails that are not filed well and the color not complete. These women expect tips and I only tip for good work and services. Do Better They used to use clean products that come out of a clean package and we used to get bottled water and appointments and walk in was easy. I have been going to nail salons and spas for many years and Paradise blew every place I've been (with the exception of day spas) out of the water! I am visiting from San Francisco and saw yelp reviews and this just happened to be across from my hotel so I wanted to give it a try. Jenny gave me both a pedicure and a manicure and it was an amazing experience! She was so incredibly attentive to details and she was so good! They offer three levels of manicures and pedicures, classic, deluxe and paradise. It is absolutely worth the money to upgrade to at least deluxe. I walked away feeling like I had been in a day spa. I hate leaving a terrible review but I felt like I paid over $100 to be tortured. The pedicure started with scalding hot water, the toenail trimming lead to multiple bleeding toes (it's been a few hours now and they are still throbbing), and the hot towels put on my legs burned. My manicure wasn't as bad but the little dremel tool went over my skin multiple times (still has a stinging sensation). The staff was friendly enough but I definitely won't be coming back. read more

First visit ever and was cut twice and burned by a very sloppy tech. Uneven texture, will not be returning for any other service. The tech seemed inconvenienced and it was the first appointment of the day, and they were late getting there. I've had my nails down for over 20 years and have run into a few techs that are sloppy and I've never returned. They reuse bands from previous customers and they don't sterilize the other bits which I believe is against the rules of the license bureau for Cosmetology. I'm a flight attendant and I had a 31 hour layover in Albuquerque and I happen to break a nail on my trip, so I gave Paradise a call to see if they could fit me in and they took me right away. I was warmly welcomed when I walked in and taken care of right away. The ladies were all so kind and they did an amazing job on my nails and toes. I went yesterday to get nail done (full set) and i was really excited about it because its been a really long time since i had gotten nails only to leave disappointed. The old lady who did my nails i dont think she could see. Almost all my nail where uneven and the acrylic was so thick and even. I asked if she could straighten them out and go thinner but i dont think she can see. I tried to be nice as i could but i promise ill never be going back there. I never had to ask her to clean underneath the nails due to all the acrylic that she brushed underneath my nails, and she pulled out acetone?!?!?! I suggest not going there for nails and if you do dont let the older lady work with you. read more

& so my nail shop journey continues... although I've already found some I've been really happy w/, I just thought I'd venture out today only because my usual place is closed on Tuesdays. Where do I even begin w/ this place? The staff is somewhat friendly, but not really welcoming. The color choices here aren't as wide of a variety as other shops in town.. this applies for both regular & gel polish. The paint job was also sloppily done. My nails still look good coming out of this shop, but the amount of uneven paint on my nails is ridiculous. I like the spacious area where manicures and pedicures are done. My nails were left a bit rough. Not buffed as smooth as I like. Lousy color choices of gel polish. Selection is just OK. Lip and eyebrow wax done without any issue. Wax was perfect temperature for my skin. I did not have a Brazilian wax done there. Not the right environment for me. I am not one to bash any companies, but I feel that others should not have to deal with this. I am from Gallup, but was in Albuquerque and needed to get my eyebrows waxed. The woman that did my brows clearly did not how to do this. She spent way too long to do this (left the wax on my face for several minutes, took several minutes rubbing the paper on) and now one half of my eyebrows is GONE. I received the worst gel manicure and pedicure I've ever had last week. It was my first visit and I was greeted by the owner/manager (not sure which one she was) and she told she would take care of me. I was impressed by the shop at the time. However, the shop was very busy that day, so she worked on me like she was in a hurry. She was very rough with my pedicure, nipping the skin on two of my toes (they bled) and cut the nails all wrong. And, because she was in such a hurry, she did a haphazard job painting my toes. I should have just quit there, but I needed my nails done to so against my better judgment, I let her continue. Because she was still in a hurry, she did an awful job on my manicure also (nicked a cuticle on my hand too). Then, she didn't leave my nails under the lights long enough between polish coats and it all pooled at the tips. When I told her at least three nails looked bad (but they were not the only ones that were wrong) ... and that I didn't like them, she said, "You go home and if you still no like, come back tomorrow." I said I wanted her to fix them right then. She did, but it was obvious she didn't want to. I left feeling mistreated. (I don't know if I can wait until next week to get them redone ... they look awful). I will never return to that shop. read more

The people who work here are super nice and welcoming. The service they provide is mediocre. The manicures I have gotten here have been a bit sloppy and did not last more than a week -- even a gel manicure. They are cheaper than some other places, but the pay off isn't worth it if you want a good manicure. Come here for a basic pedicure, but leave your hands to someone else. read more
