She got the crabby something (it was crab cakes and eggs on a English muffin w/ a side of potatoes) and I got 2 pancakes and a side of potatoes (they call them hashbrowns but I disagree).... Potatoes were cold and not fully cooked on either of our plates. Pancakes were uneventful... granted, you can't do much with pancakes but even so these seemed really underwhelming. Lastly, putting my left overs in a box noticed a hair in the potatoes.... so in the trash they went. Overall... a $30 unbeatable meal. read more

Stopped in while visiting family and so glad we did. Family owned and run. Greeted at the door by the staff who were attentive and friendly. Seated us (group of 6) within 20 minutes. It's a busy place and they are expanding to accommodate the crowd. Shared several breakfast plates. The sausage gravy was amazing - light and flavorful, and perfect seasoning. The waffles were also a hit at the table - order the smaller portion as it easily feeds 4. Chocolate chip pancakes were laden with chocolate chips and also delicious. This was our first trip to the Honeymoon Grille since they built the new one, and I have to say, nothing was lost in the move at all! The food was great, the wait staff incredibly attentive, and the atmosphere was appreciably updated and modern. We recently went on a weekend, and even though we were pretty early, a line had already formed out front. Plan accordingly, but usually a sign of a great meal to come, and they did not disappoint! I had the country fried steak, which was nicely cooked, crispy breading, peppery, smooth country gravy, fried eggs, and crispy home fries, which were nicely seasoned throughout. I was also able to try their brioche French toast, which was cinnamon-y, but not too sweet, soft and delicate. The outside kind of had a flap off eggy, cinnamon crust, but was still soft, and the inside was the custardy goodness you want in really good French toast! Everyone we were with seemed to really enjoy their meals as well. One member of our party even got a cup of lobster bisque, even though it was only 9 AM. I stole a bite, and was really impressed. Thick and creamy, with bits of lobster in every bite. It was a little bit rich, but c'mon! That's what lobster bisque is supposed to be, right? New building is great! Lovely atmosphere really seems to fit the portage lakes area. Gets pretty busy and the entrance gets crowded since it's the check in, check out, entrance, AND exit. Based on rankings and customer reviews, this was our first breakfast choice after purchasing a property in the Portage Lakes area. It's a lovely building and great location. On the way in, a lady waiting for a friend raved about the food and especially the coffee. After all this, I'll admit our expectations were pretty high. We ordered coffee immediately and were flat out disappointed. We thought it was weak and tasteless. The food was just okay in spite of prices that you would pay in far better restaurants. Overall it was mediocre, which is sad because it is a great location for us. We accept mediocre food, I mean anyplace can cook bacon and eggs, but we don't go back for bad coffee. read more

Today I decided to trek out and walk down to the Honeymoon grille to try there breakfast as I got there right as they opened up at 6am. This morning I ordered a coffee and the yeti breakfast which consits of two Eggs however you want them I got mine over easy, two pancakes or french toast and I ordered pancakes, homefries and bacon and or ham and sausage I ordered bacon. The whole meal with the coffee came out to $10.65 which I think is a decent price for this meal but the only issue I have with it that it is basic diner food at a reasonable price. The Waitress that was jhere this morning though did do an awesome job and was on top of everything and she made sure my coffee stayed full and was fresh but to me the coffee the more I drank it seemed muddy but it was still hot and good which to me is weird but as far as my rating goes I am gonna have to give this place a three I would probably come back but the next time I am gonna try some of their lunch fare. read more
