Went here for breakfast. Streets were blocked off because of the Encinitas Street Fair. We managed to find parking a few blocks away. As we enter, there were a lot of people in line ordering food to dine in or to go. My husband ordered for me while my daughter and I grabbed a table. My husband got me the steak hash with fruit and bread. Inside the steak hash was potatoes, cut up pieces of steak and scrambled eggs on top. There was also green and red peppers in the mix. The steak was soft and very good. The potatoes and eggs needed ketchup to add some flavor. The potatoes were plain. It was good. The bread was thick like Texas toast and had butter already spread on it. The fruit was delicious and fresh. I had an orange juice to wash down my food. The orange juice was thick and tasted fresh. I needed to water it down a bit cause it was too thick in consistency but good. Overall the food was delicious! The service was great. As soon as we were done, the guy cleared off our table and other tables. People were friendly. Cute place to dine in. There were also tables outside if you wish to eat outside. I'm always on the hunt for a good brunch spot. Ding! Found a good spot. The food isn't expensive, it's quite yummy, people-watching is great, you're a block from the beach, and you get to hang out with other people's dogs. The omelets are delicious - I recommend either the Green Omelet, the Popeye Omelet, or any one of the various specials. They are also spot-on with their pancake and waffle options, which come with fresh fruit, + bacon and 2 eggs for an extra $2.50. Even the coffee is good - and that counts for a lot when you're talking about brunch. It can get crowded, sure, and be prepared for a cafe/deli-like ambiance where you get a number and a waiter comes and finds you. But who cares! It's brunch near the beach. Indoors or outdoors, it's a great place to stuff your face with good food. Honey's is my favorite spot. I love to grab breakfast here. Everything that has come from their kitchen has been good and the coffee bar can't be beat. They have about a dozen different coffee's in carafes along one wall. I find I'm always getting the organic Guatemalan but it's good to have options. They have big mugs or to-go cups waiting. It makes it easy to grab your coffee and settle in after ordering at the counter. They have both indoor and sidewalk seating. The tables inside can be a little cramped but its worth it given how popular the restaurant can be during the summer and on weekends. The staff is always friendly and laid back. The kitchen is pretty quick and food arrives promptly. Service is minimal since coffee and water are both self serve but that works just fine. I've tried about half of their savory breakfast options and everything has been good. I am a big fan of ABC omelettes. The avocado, bacon and cheese is a combination few would argue with and they make a good one here. It's my usual. I have also gotten the chilaquiles benedict a few times and it's a winner. I have a thing for tortilla chips and what could possible be wrong about building an egg dish with hollandaise on top of them. Look for me when you go. read more

Delicious, low key (but always busy) spot in Encinitas. Every time I've been here I've gotten some variation of the eggs Benedict.. They have about 5-8 different types with different sauces, toppings etc. All are about 8.95-10.00$ This time I had the El Paso Benedict with soy chorizo, avocado, and a chipotle hollandaise. It is VERY rich and filling, but delish nonetheless. I always want to try something different on the menu, but always find myself going back to this favorite. Also comes with potatoes which are thick and crispy. Much better than your regular hash browns in my opinion. It's counter service and the lines usually out the door, especially on weekends. This is a cute little bistro. Don't sit near the registers because people will bump into you while they are waiting to pay. The wait staff was kinda jokingly rude. You have dirty tables, I need it wiped down. He just stared at me and said yes when I asked him for something to wipe the table down with. They have plenty of items to choose from and more written on a chalk board. The item that stood out to me and my friends for our monthly brunch was the lobster eggs benedict. All three of us ordered the same thing. It was pretty good. I wish it had more shredded lobster. Also ordered a mexican mocha. It was pretty good. Also had a smoothie on the way out. This is my favorite brunch spot in Encinitas, and I come here as often as I can. It's a really cute and homey place, almost like a cross between an old diner and a beachside cafe. To describe the place, first of all, the menu is enormous--there is almost any kind of breakfast or lunch item that you could dream of. Sandwiches, salads, pancakes, omelets, you name it. In addition to the large menu, they also serve you with large portions, almost to the point where you are always taking home a doggy bag. The service is great, it's a fast casual place, so you order up front and then take a number and they bring it to your table. The people working there are always super friendly. The environment is really cozy and warm, where you feel at home. My personal favorites are the salmon omelet, ahi tuna salad, and the green power açai bowl. but honestly, everything is so fresh. They also have a huge selection of self serve coffee that you can refill at any point, which is great for mornings. This place is good for families, friends, and definitely great for a morning after a rough night out. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! read more

The food was decent, but overpriced- I tried the veggie quesadillas; potatoes were delicious. Way too much food though for one person. Also sampled the granola waffles and the fruity pancakes. Everything was "all right". What kills this place is it's so overcrowded. You go to the counter to order/pay, and stand there for 15+ minutes looking for a place to sit. They bring your food out and you are still standing around, waiting to find an open table. So they bring it in the back where it begins to cool down. We were lucky and five minutes after they initially brought out our food someone finally left. So we sat at a dirty table, waiting for it to get cleaned off. The staff is overworked and it took a long time for the guy to come around to clear the dishes. He didn't give the table a wipedown and there was still dirty napkins all over from the last people. My boyfriend picked them up (ew) and moved them to the next table over, which was also empty by this time. Like I said- the food was okay. But it's just as good at any other breakfast place, so why submit yourself to the no seating dilemma here. First trip highlights: so in love with their fresh juice, life saver after a night of drinking with the guys. $2.95 for a 12oz i believe. Just enough for a healthy start. I got the Apple Hop but he was kind enough to add carrots for me for the same deal. Denver egg benedict was yummm with a side of rosemary potatoes. I wish egg wasn't overcooked but my hangover didn't care much at the time. Coffee, coffee, coffee they have a self serve coffee station with at least 10 different flavors, I didn't get to try any but the smell was heavenly. Second trip: ACAI BOWL- was the prefect pick me up after a doctors visit. Refreshing, packed with favor with oats and seeds. Huge portion @ $8 a bowl enough for three. Honey's is a small cafe hidden in Encinitas that I don't want anyone to know about because their breakfast and coffee is that good that I don't want it to get uber busy and then be inaccessible. I don't live in the Encinitas area, but I do know that if I want a great breakfast, this is the place I take a little venture to. They are a small little store front located on the main drag in Encinitas, but if you happen to have the chance to stop in, do it. I would recommend sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful day (weather permitting) and ordering the corned beef hash with a vanilla latte. Hands down is the best corned beef hash I have ever had. It literally it made with actual corned beef (nothing processed) and however they have done it, they savor the flavor without being overly dry (which can easily happen). It comes with toast and either fruit or potatos, but either way you go, you always win. That being said, the vanilla latte is also one of the best I've ever had while also being giant and fulfilling in the flavor department. Honey's is one of those comfort food with a greater oomph of pizzazz that more places should have, but choose to leave out. read more

Honey's is such a cute little spot on the 101! It has a homey feel despite the bustle, which I love about coastal places like this. I wouldn't recommend Honey's if you're claustrophobic, although you'd be missing out on a spectacular breakfast! I had the Popeye omelette when I went, which was loaded with veggies and came with a side of gorgeous potatoes loaded with herbs and chives. I wasn't a huge fan of the toasted bread that also accompanied the dish, but I'm pretty picky in that department so I'm sure that's just my opinion. It appears as though they have freshly squeezed juice too - my mom is a big fan of their OJ! I'll be back for breakfast for sure! Came to Encinitas to get lunch & go to the gardens for my friends birthday. Looked on yelp and this place came up so decided to come for a late breakfast. If you're gonna be a place that has a order take a number grab a seat process you need to fix your menu to be more organized cause it's a lot to try and look at while in line, you almost feel rushed so you choose the first thing that sounds good by the time it's your turn. They should offer he option to sit down and look at a menu considering they have a large menu. Food: My boyfriend and I both got the standard eggs Benedict and it was alright. We were starving after two hours of traffic so anything would've been good at that point. The eggs were watery and runny and I can't stand it when an egg seems under cooked but too hungry to care today. The side of fruit was nice and the breakfast potatoes were pretty good but seemed lime a small portion. Our friends got the lobster Benedict and the green omelet and both seemed satisfied. Totally forgot to write a review about my favorite breakfast spot. Honey's has always been my go to when I lived up North. One of the reasons why I love this place is that it's walking distance to the beach. Totally perfect for sunday funday. It's also along the encinitas strip (which I call it), so many small cute boutiques and some bars as well. They don't take reservations so you have to get there before it gets busy. I usually come around 11am which works. They serve all kinds of breakfast plates, but I always go for the eggs benedict. Sooo legit! Today is my first time eating here (and first time FINALLY writing a yelp review myself), and let me just say I think I finally found my new favorite brunch spot!!! The menu is amazing, the selection of Benedicts both extensive and creative, and there's a huge selection of coffees, smoothies, and fresh juices. I tried the lobster Benedict and it really was as tasty as the previous reviews stated. The portions are big, so you can either be really full or have some leftovers. The area is super crowded on weekends, so a bit stuffy inside, but despite that the service was exceptionally fast and the food well worth it :) The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is on my significant others behalf, because the menu layout was confusing. He wanted a scramble, but only saw two of the available options on the chalkboard so settled for one that had veggies he didn't particularly like. There are chalkboards detailing all of the drinks, benedicts, and specials, but if you want the FULL list of available food items, grab the actual fold out menu (which we didn't see). This has tons more options that can suit anyone's dietary desires! (Including several more meaty scrambles for those carnivores out there) Overall, amazing breakfast joint!! read more

Variety of different coffees and beverages, samosas on the weekends. I had the breakfast sandwich, eggs tomato avocado on a croissant, house potatoes fruit, portions are huge, come hungry. So fresh and delish. Hubs had egg breakfast combo, meat eggs toast - great portions and fresh. I am posting this to Yelp as there was no response by the business after reaching out to them 1st and giving them a week to respond. In these times it really does not seem like the right course of action to ignore the intentional acts of its employees. I am afraid to even write you, but before resorting to Yelp and Google reviews to express myself I will give you a chance to do the right thing. Yesterday (4/29) my wife and I chose your restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Knowing that it is all take out, after pouring over your extensive menu and were going to try to find an ocean view and eat in our car. We ordered over the phone some blackberry banana pancakes and an ABC quesadilla made burrito style. Upon arriving had to wait a bit, no big deal there but to come up with an ocean view had to drive to Cardiff. My wife opens up her pancakes and they were just plain cakes, no banana blackberry which she had been craving. My ABC burrito was made properly. I decided to share it with my wife. She calls you and tells whomever answered the phone what happened and not to take a chance on being disappointed again orders the same thing I had. We drive back to Encinitas and she goes in to pick up the order. Cook comes out of the kitchen and watches my wife pick up the order which she thought was weird. We go back to Cardiff to finish eating and when opening the food container, the burrito was literally swimming in grease and the tortilla was soaking wet. I get one half and my wife got the other half. Took napkins and wiped off the tortilla and started to eat it. Got to what we thought was bacon only to have fat. and a lot of fat. Opened up the tortilla and there was NO bacon in in the burrito, only bacon fat or pork fat of some sort. This was no accident. This was an intentional deliberate act by the cook. If for some reason he ran out of bacon, then that should have been told to us. What else did he possibly do to our food? We couldn't go back as we were afraid of getting poisoned or something worse. Took all the fat that we could see out of the burrito and ate just the eggs. Last night we both became violently ill and my wife was still sick a day later. Was not a great anniversary. I am appalled that this is what our experience was and the intentional act by the cook. We spent a lot of money to have a memorable meal and it will be memorable for all the wrong reasons. I understand that this restaurant is has the same owners as Swami's also. All I had requested was my $32.14 to be refunded. Do not visit this restaurant or the same thing may happen to you. read more

It didn't taste like it came straight out of a can, as is the case with a lot of more low-key places. I haven't experienced enough food to make an accurate judgment, to be honest. I do have plenty of great things to say about the staff and management. They are very pleasant, and friendly. The first time I came in for a coffee break, I asked if I could pay for my coffee with a credit card. They said no, but to just pay them back next time I came in. The next time I came in, they were out of decaf so they made me a decaf Americano and only charged me for a regular coffee. Everyone working here is wonderful. It's a great vibe. read more
