Steak & eggs, French toast, honey pot mimosa, honey latte
Nicole F.

Cute spot but not at all worth $70 for 2 people. Expected way more for the price point, the steak unfortunately was comparable to Denny's. We asked for the steak to be prepared medium, instead received a well done steak and not seasoned. The brioche French toast was tough to cut - I scratched the plate several times trying to cut a piece off. The food came out lukewarm/cold as both eggs were cold by the second bite. The service isn't great as the cashier didn't greet us; just stood at the register looking around until we asked "are you ready for us?" That said, you can get a cute and yummy mimosa from anywhere, definitely expected a lot better food quality and experience for the price.

Great breakfast place! We tried the eggs Benedict and pancakes and they were both amazing!

Trying new places is super fun! Was in the area for the weekend and saw their menu had a lot of tasty breakfast items so we stopped by. You order at the counter and the guy taking our order was very friendly and welcoming. The place wasnt too packed yet so we got to sit right away. My mom got the blueberry & cream cheese stuffed french toast - REALLY good and very rich! The blueberrys were very ripe and fresh. My mom wished it had been a bit more buttery. I got the eggs benedict which was fine - your basic benedict. I wasnt wild about the house potatoes personally. I think next time i would get the steak benedict. They have a good selection. We got some coffee to go - the pepp mocha for me and honey latte for my mom and they were delicious!! Did not skimp on flavor. Cute and open space - lots of plants and good lighting. The self serve coffee bar was cool too! You could even get your own to go boxes. Its the perfect blend of getting stuff yourself and being waited on. Everything came out really quick too. Do not miss this place!

My daughter and I came here for breakfast and it was fantastic!! Very friendly service as we were greeted as soon as we stepped in. I had the stuffed brioche French toast filled with cream cheese and blueberries, with fresh strawberries and blueberries on top. Both fruits were perfectly ripe and delicious! Seriously, I haven't had a better strawberry in forever and never such a perfect blueberry! I wish I had had a chance to try the red velvet pancakes but they'll have to wait til next time! Coffee is self-serve, which is great as there are different flavours and a decaf option as well. To-go drinks are also available - we got a honey latter and peppermint mocha to take with us. Very cute interior and also some outdoor seating. I can't wait to go back!

First time coming to the Encinitas area and this is a really lovely place! I love the open space outside and the inside is also friendly aesthetic! Managed to find a good parking spot even on a Sunday afternoon so that ways a big bonus haha. Seasonal Red Velvet Peach Pancakes - 10/10 Really light and fluffy pancakes and that combination of red velvet and Peach was really unbelievable! Definitely would not have thought of something like this myself. Seasonal menu was a little hidden but glad we managed to peek a look at it online before coming in. Healthy Chicken Sandwich - 9/10 I would have asked for a few customizations here if I went again. The sourdough was flavorful but they actually buttered it which I was not a fan of. Sauteed spinach on the inside also looked quite wet so I'm not sure if it was oil or just water. Really hoping it was water but I would have asked for less oil on this. Good amount of chicken in there which was nice. We were actually afraid that the the sun-dried tomatoes would be too oily so we asked for them on the side but they were actually quite perfect! Chicken was also cooked well and had a good amount of chicken in here Avocado was missing though so that was a little sad. Half order Eggs Benedict - 10/10 Husband got this "it was nice!" he said! He's a major Eggs Benedict person, so this is definitely one to recommend! Side Salad - Husband and I both asked for this on the side of the sandwich and the eggs Benedict. Nice way to get some veggies in without ordering a salad. Portion size was also quite big so that was nice. I didn't try the dressing but husband did and he said it was actually really really lovely. So much so that he wanted some for home! Churro Waffles Another season that our friends got. I think they actually like it because that whole plate was wiped clean! Looked really fluffy on the inside and it came with a lot of berries on top and actually looked really pretty as well. Vegetarian Breakfast burrito with Soyrizo - Friends ordered this and not going to lie this actually looked delicious! Really proper stuffed burrito that they crisped up nicely on the outside! Love how this place actually offered customization is because my friends actually customized her their order to make this burrito vegetarian but not boring.

California Chicken Wrap with Salad
Becky L.

On the main strip of Encinitas is this lovely place with a full page of breakfast items ranging from the classic eggs Benedict, to the south of the border chilaquiles Verde. On the flip side is a full page of lunch items like burgers, Patty melts, and lush salads. Our table ordered lunch: Turkey melts that were an elevated grilled cheese and a California chicken wrap with lots of juicy chicken Breastfeeding. The side salad comes with a delicious poppyseed dressing and the fries are textured in that good-good kinda way. iykyk. The world is expensive these days but I felt that this was a good deal. The portions are big and a side was included! I could only eat half the wrap anyways, so that stretched the value into 2 meals! Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Great breakfast spot! I hadn't been here in several years but was in the area. They remolded the entire inside. Lots of seating and options on the patio as well. The menu is massive, so many tasty options. Cocktails and coffee as well. Servers were friendly. The location is nice right on the 101. Lots of shops and fun spots walking distance.

The best French toast I've ever had! We were in and out on a Tuesday morning, very fast service!

I brought my friend here yesterday for breakfast after searching online "best breakfast places in Encinitas". You stand in a line to order and then you find your seat and we chose to sit outside. It was wonderful. The people outside were fun. Everybody was talking to each other. We shared our seat with a stranger who was great conversation. We ordered Iced Matcha and our breakfasts, both were very good. Definitely will come again. The only thing that was a little off was when I ordered my omelette the girl said what would you like for the side and I said what are the sides and she says it's right there and she points to it. Very quick, not helpful just brash. Okay now I didn't say it, but I thought to myself how hard would it be to say potatoes, fruit, cottage cheese? Anyway, the print is really small for me. It would've taken nothing for her to be kind and just say what the sides were. She's truly just standing there. And then when it was time to pay our bill it asks you to tip and that's when I tipped nothing and I always tip well. We all work hard for our money and I'm not going to tip somebody that can't even tell me what my side options are. She just wasn't a nice girl. Anyway, if you are looking for a really cute place to take a friend or to take your wife, it is great.

I've been coming to Honey's for 25 years. The restaurant has changed and modernized over the last five years but the heart of this place has not changed. In my opinion it has the best breakfast in Encinitas. The variety, quality, and consistency is incredible! The service is amazing but so chill and laidback. They will modify to meet any dietary needs but the variety of options offers something for everyone. I always get the all natural chicken breakfast burrito with potatoes. But I recommend any of the eggs benedict or omelette options.

Artichoke Chicken Sausage Omelette Artichoke Chicken Sausage Omelette and Tuna Melt
Araceli P.

The service was quick and the gentleman at the front was very honest when recommending between two dishes. I liked that there was both indoor and outdoor seating which allows you to choose a calmer or more busy environment. The food was presented nicely but I did feel that my dish could have been more seasoned. During this visit I got the artichoke sausage omelette and my friend got the Tuna melt. I preferred the tuna melt I would definitely try again.

Acai Bowl

I've always walked by Honey's wanting to try their food because we named our mini golden doodle Honey and the restaurant is always hopping. It was available for delivery so decided to give it a try. Ordered an Açaí bowl and it was Massive while packed to the brim. Apple juice base and filled with fruits. I ended up eating half and then putting it in the freezer to eat the other half later. Was refreshing after it was frozen too. I definitely want to try their other food now because I bet the portions are big!

Corned Beef Hash
Samantha C.

A friend recommended Honey's for our first visit to Encinitas and we're glad we went! It's such a modern yet cozy vibe, with indoor and outdoor seating. Service is fat and friendly, and food was excellent. I had the corned beef hash with a side of fruit while my husband tried the açaí bowl. The corned beef was not greasy or too salty, just the right amount of crust. They even gave me some honey to go with my toast upon request. The açaí was SO SMOOTH; the only surprise was the granola being on the bottom! Oh we also shared a honey latte, not too sweet!!! Highly recommend for a casual but adorable meal. Street parking only. We were lucky to find a spot immediately since we went early!

The menu was focused around a fresh bluefin tuna the restaurant obtained that day. The way chef prepared the different courses was unique and really let the blue fin be the star of the show. The sauces paired with the fish were exquisite. To start we had a Cesar salad which was served with fresh house dressing made the traditional way. Probably the best I've ever had. Robert was a fantastic server for the evening. I'll ask to sit in his section every time we come back.

I think this is a regular occurrence. When the doors open, everyone rushes to get bar seating, which is first come, first served. At the front desk, we checked-in and they sat us at a table in the main dining room. I let it slide since we didn't want to get the Happy Meal anyway, but also wouldn't get any happy hour drink prices. We ordered: * Berry Hot & Bothered - $18 * Societe Bulbous Hazy IPA - $10 * Beef Carpaccio - $29 * Ode-to-Swan - $34 * Johnny Cake & Caviar - $29 * Half-Baked Red Snapper - $48 * Peaches, Peaches, Peaches - $18 * Butter Me Up - $17 The cocktails were fine. Butter Me Up was the best (an espresso martini). The beer was good. The Peaches and Berry drink were very mediocre. Server did get us two small glasses of champagne for our anniversary which was a nice touch. The Beef Carpaccio was amazing. There is a TON of breadcrumbs so if you inhaled, you'll choke. But the flavor was fantastic. Would order again. The Ode-To-Swan reminded me of the Spanish Sashimi at Valentina. Only they put a metric TON of chives on it so you can't even see the fish. This is a huge mistake. The dish was okay but all I tasted was chives. I love sashimi but would not order this again. The Johnny Cake was good but way too sweet! It's basically a thick pancake with caviar on top. The caviar was very savory and the sea bass rillete underneath was smoky. I loved the flavor combination but we could not finish the dish. The half-baked fish was phenomenal. A stunner. Even with the foggy eyeball staring at you. Soo good, I only wished there was more of that sauce on the plate. Even at $50, I would order this again. Total was $270 after tip. They add a 4% surcharge on the bill which is not great. I would come here again but skip the cocktails. Go to SAGO across the street instead for some banger cocktails. Parking was sparse. Street level only. We had to park a block away but the walk was not bad. It was 69° so the weather was perfect. Service was good but our server was clearly trying to get us to order more food. We did not need a second entree or a plate of carrots or potatoes. I would come back, mostly to try new dishes. The food is expensive but interesting in a way you don't know what something will taste like. Please ditch the chives on the sashimi!

We came during lunch, the Italian sub was skimpy on meat and fillings, the falafel burger was just okay, and only the garlic fries were amazing. What really infuriated us: a sneaky 3.95% surcharge fee that popped up out of nowhere on the bill, that was not listed anywhere on the lunch menu. Why insult your guests? If costs are rising, just update the menu prices transparently like a respectable place. Hiding behind a vague surcharge feels deceptive and cheap--it ruined the whole experience. Later we found the surcharge listed at the bottom of the dinner menu. But not on our lunch menu. Are we supposed to scour the menu looking for nonsense fees? My wife was pissed she didn't make a stink about the bill, and will never return. Plenty of better options without these gimmicks. The Fig Burger itself was just as impressive with such a unique combo and absolutely delicious. *Steak Sandwich with Onion Rings: this was also a standout. Perfectly cooked, super flavorful, and came with a great dipping sauce that really tied it all together. The onion rings were crispy and on point too. First off, I love that they offer a variety of sides (sweet potato fries, truffle fries, mac & cheese, Brussels sprouts, etc.), though most come with a small upcharge. We had a few drinks and even grabbed a bottle of wine from the bar to take back to our Airbnb, which was a nice bonus. The vibe was relaxed with TVs playing highlights from a basketball game, and the bartender/server was awesome. Parking was easy with free street parking, though that might've been because it was late and a holiday. Only heads up: definitely call ahead about kitchen and closing times, especially on holidays. Online said they close at midnight, but they were actually closing at 11 PM. We were told over the phone the kitchen closed at 9:45 PM, but when we arrived at 9:30 PM, it had just switched to last call. Thankfully, they were kind enough to still get our order in.
