The ambiance is quiet with servers and staff mostly ignoring customers in the sense that you are not necessarily greeted when entering or leaving the restaurant. They are quick to pick your plate up off the table and to give you your bill, almost like they don't want you sitting there too long to go back for seconds. They have a soft serve ice cream machine but it was out of order. I didn't take any desserts but others in our party did and they were average. My favorite place to eat in Minocqua :) plenty of options from the buffet for dine in or take out. They typically also have a (very basic) sushi roll available at their cold bar which I appreciate. Also plenty of little desserts that especially kids seem to enjoy. My favorite is a little fried bun they have that gives a donut vibe (pictured in carry out pic). Building is maybe a bit old and could use some love but it doesn't impact the food quality. Staff is small, they seat you and check on you periodically but don't expect to be waited on like a traditional restaurant. They come to drop off your check about the time you finish your first plates but that does not mean you need to rush out right away! read more

We've been coming here on and off for 25 years. I'm sure in that time, it has changed hands at least once. We haven't noticed a change in food quality, which is standard but tasty for a Chinese buffet. The service is polite and friendly (they deliver drinks and silverware to your table, you grab your own food at the food bar in the restaurant). The aesthetic is simple, with paper Chinese calendar placemats and four chairs around smaller, square dining tables. We have never left disappointed and the food has always tasted good, especially for the price. read more

This buffet is an amazing deal! The salad & fruit bar also provide healthy & tasty options. I love the Asian food options, but there are also good foods for Western appetites. $14 for lunch is a great price for all you get! The wait staff was attentive & friendly. We eat here alot! Quite a variety of food and everything is always hot. Sure, the decor is somewhat out-dated and it could use a remodel, but we don't go there for the looks. We go there for the food! Food is authentic-made with fresh veggies-not frozen or out of a can, and very tasty. This place is in need of help. First thing I noticed is how dirty it is. The floors were very dirty. There is a half wall to see into the kitchen, which didn't look clean at all dirty counters, floors, cooking area full of a lot of dirt and grease. I never like buffets but there wasn't a lot of choices for Chinese food in Minocqua. The food turned out to be better than I expected for a buffet and for the price, hence the 4 stars. We didn't go for the buffet, we had take-out from their take-out menu. The best dish was the home-style tofu dish, better than some better restaurants in Chicago. Mushu vegetable was favored by many in the group but I wish they used a better pancake and I didn't see any eggs in the filling, which is a must for mushu anything. Broccoli with garlic sauce was good. Chicken with snow peas and pepper beef were just okay. The building looks run down. There is a limited selection of food. The prices are a tad bit high for what they are serving. The atmosphere is strange. The interior needs remodeling. The food was so-so. I was so disappointed how crabby the waitress was today. Also, I fell hard on the black ice by the entrance door. My husband went inside to complain and ask them to put salt down.
