We started with the special fried rice and pork soup dumplings, which were HUGE, packed with flavor, and so good. We also ordered the much-needed egg drop soup since my friend was feeling under the weather, and it hit the spot. The General Tso's chicken was outstanding, too! Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and the portions are seriously generous, which is perfect when you're dining with a group and want to share. Needless to say, I definitely can't wait to be back! New dim sum Cantonese cuisine restaurant! We ordered a lot of food.... Must try: rice rolls, bbq pork buns, soup dumplings, sticky rice lotus leaf, fried meat dumplings, fried shrimp roll, sesame balls. These were all packed with flavor and piping hot straight out of the kitchen. I almost ordered a to-go box of sesame balls to take home. We had left over of all the above and it all reheated well at home later that night. The so-so: Har gow was made with intact small shrimp and not chopped up jumbo shrimp so the texture of the filling is off, the wrapper was nice though. Shu mai was also texturally off which led to lack in flavor, there was no distinct difference between the pork and shrimp in it. Shrimp steamed rice roll has the same situation of having the small shrimp which just aren't as flavorful or texturally tasty. When the soup dumplings came, they did not offer any spoons to eat it with. I asked twice for some soup spoons and they only brought over metal ones that weren't big enough for the dumplings. Also ask for vinegar for the table. Love the shrimp chips they give you when you first sit down and the plate of condiments! Server was very nice and the prices are decent. I had a wonderful meal at Hong Kong Kitchen, made even more wonderful because of the friendly service. I was surprised to see how clean and well-decorated the interior of this restaurant is in this seemingly run down parking lot. We ordered a few dim sum dishes that ranged from good to wonderful. The standout was the turnip cake. Yes, the turnip cake. Trust me. There was so much flavor infused in this crispy on the outside, tender on the inside dish that I have been thinking about it all week. My table also enjoyed the shrimp stuffed jalapeños and the chive dumplings. They loved the duck and crispy pan friend noodles with shrimp. The sesame tofu was a tad too sweet, but very good. We've now been here twice and I'm going to say this is some of the best Chinese cuisine in all of Orlando. Very unassuming both outside and inside, but the preparation of our meals hasn't been outstanding. The first time here we basically did a Dim Sum by ordering the small plates on the back of the menu. Everything was outstanding. Unfortunately I don't have the photos but man it was all so good. The second time my wife got a salt and pepper tofu that is unlike anything we've ever had. Fried so light and airy with incredible seasoning. Sweet and sour shrimp probably the best version of that I've ever had. I had never visited any of the restaurants that were previously at this location, so I was very surprised by how nice and clean it was inside. The portion of food I got for the lunch special was obviously great value as it was only 3.99 at the time, but it also made me want to come back to try other items even at full price. While the flavors weren't anything spectacular or mind-blowing beyond a pickup Chinese spot, they have a few menu items like salted fish fried rice and Singapore rice noodles that I usually have to go down to Mills for, so it's nice to have a restaurant like this closer to me. read more

We were pleasantly surprised with quality of the food. Ordered Hot'Sour soup for 2. Delicious. It was not spicy enough for either of us. Which is good thing for the majority of people ordering. BUT there is a smoky hot chili oil sauce on each table. 1 full spoonful brought the heat up and made it a must order for future visits. I had Char sui pork and vegetables it was perfect. I had fried rice... it also got a teaspoon of the chili oil sauce. Yum. My friend got chicken and vegetables with white rice. He said it was very good cook. He took last part of his Hot'Sour soup added even more chili sauce then poured over the white rice. Perfect. Think I'll do that next time instead of fried rice. I did a takeout lunch of beef and broccoli with the pork fried rice, the rice did not taste fresh and the beef was scorching hot as if it had been microwaved ( my order was ready in less than 5 minutes). Have been craving Chinese food for a few weeks now but not just some late night uber meal. Wanted to try something new and new I chose. This place open not to long ago and was very curious about it. Stopped in and it did not let me down. Asked the waiter for something with beef and noodles and he chose the beef chow fun, he said very traditional and noodles made in house. We had a pretty fantastic experience for lunch yesterday. My 8 year old is in a dim sum kick lately, so when he heard there's a new Cantonese restaurant in our area, he demanded we try it. We started the meal by sharing a bowl of wonton (shrimp and pork) mein soup noodles. The broth was clear and tasty, the wontons were a good size, and the noodles perfectly tender with a little bounce/bite. We ordered several (too many for an adult and 8 year old) gr standard dim sum fare to test the waters and set the bar. Shrimp and pork siu mai, shrimp har gow, stuffed bean curd skin, baked char siu bao, soup dumplings, and fried shrimp balls. They were all fair sized and a competitive price. Their shapes/sizes were pretty homogenous, so I suspect they may be frozen and not hand made, but the preparation was superb; cooked perfectly and served steaming hot. Our server was a very sweet older woman who was attentive and friendly with my son. The interior of the restaurant was very clean and polished with some nuanced paintings and photos of old Hong Kong movie stars and landscape. The restaurant is fairly calm and quiet, perfect for a relaxing lunch on a Sunday afternoon. How is this place still in business. I just spent $75 on take out for 2 apps and sweet and sour chicken. It's THE WORST sweet and sour chicken IVE EVER HAD. The put the sauce on uncooked chicken. We came here when it was sizzling and I will miss it (I do love hot pot) but we came here again to try Hong Kong Kitchen. I really enjoy the lighting in there. It's very warm and the eclectic lighting it's cool. I tend to always go for the same thing at Chinese restaurants so I grabbed the Singapore rice noodles. Super yummy. This is my second time coming and the food was good and super speedy however it's a bit pricey than normal but no biggie. The service is great however one thing they could change is the way we pay the bill. I'm all ok with the technology use however I don't appreciate the waitstaff just standing there while I take care of the bill. I visited Winter Park back in January when I was interviewing to relocate. I got lost and found this place by accident and was amazed by the quality of the food and the friendly service. This is easily the worst dim sum place I've ever been. We ordered take 4 days ago. My total came out to around $150. We ordered quite a bit of food. When I tell literally everything single thing taste bad. Nothing was even just okay. You can very clearly tell that all the food is frozen and they just reheat it up in a microwave. Super nice folks. Super delicious. The steamed dumplings were excellent. We had salt and pepper tofu, and mapo tofu. The salt and pepper tofu was seasoned perfectly and fried to crispy goodness. Food was okay. However my mixed vegetables was mostly onion. What really upset me was they didnt tell my party that they already put on an 18% gratuity and they dont give you a hard bill to look at. They do it all on their tablet so there wasnt an opportunity to see what the bill was. So I tipped my customary 20%. When I said something they didnt refund me the 18% gratuity. So I will never ,ever return to this restaurant. I hope the 7$ was worth losing a customer over. read more
