I usually enjoy ordering Chinese takeout, but this experience was a letdown from start to finish. The sesame chicken was subpar--overcooked, dry, and lacking that classic sweet, tangy flavor. It tasted like it had been sitting for a while rather than freshly made. To make things worse, the woman who took my phone order was incredibly rude. Popped in a few days ago and ordered an egg drop soup to go. Lady at the counter went out of her way to be rude to me. I have absolutely no idea why. After I ordered it, she just took my money and walked off. She didn't say a word. So I asked very politely if I should run next door to Publix quickly, because I had to grab something, and I'd come back in a few mins to get my soup? She literally yelled at me "it's ready !!!" Since then, I have moved to Central Florida and plan to go back to Yelping once again. Today at work, I was in the mood for Chinese. I have ate in certain locations but wanted to try something new. Thus, China Star located at Winter Park, Florida. They have a vast menu of plenty of selections and chose Roast Park Fried Rice, Chicken Wings and Egg Rolls. So, here we go: 1. Chicken Wings: The Chicken Wings were great. And for the first time ever, I had chicken wings that were normal size instead of those gigantic ones that seem to be jacked up in steroids. The breading of the wings were fantastic and not greasy at all. Easily the best chicken wings I have tasted so far in this region. 2. Roast Pork Fried Rice: I normally am a Chicken Fried Rice guy all day,however, they did not have that. I am a fan of their rice but it was a little on the greasy end. 3. Egg Rolls: This was the weakest part of my lunch. It was too mushy inside and semi crunchy on the outside. I love to hear the crunch of my egg rolls and like more texture inside. Overall, I will give them 3.5 to 4 stars. I'll push it 4 stars as the pricing was excellent and less than $15. read more

The lady at the front desk has absolutely no business working with customers. Delivery took 45 minutes, but it was during peak dinner time, I can't imagine they have a fleet of drivers just waiting to bring me MY vegetable chow mei fun! Okay okay okay, I shouldn't have been ordering take out Chinese anyways but my experience with this place was pretty bad all around, I wont be going back. My order was admittedly basic, general tso's, white rice and crab rangoons. I asked for the general tso to be extra spicy, didn't happen but it did come out with significant more water than I've ever seen on this dish. The portion was massive. The crab rangoons came with out the crab, I guess cream cheese rangoons isn't bad though. Rice was was rice. I called, the lady who answered the phone sounded like I was bothering her. I showed up and she didn't great me at all, handed me my check without saying a word following with the bag 10 mins later. They did it wrong and it too the guy 10 minutes to explain what he wanted...they went to the back and it sounds like they picked out the chicken into a new disk. An argument ensued and I decided to leave before it got really nasty. The food quality is what you expect for the price....there are better options. This is our first time going to this restaurant. My partner went online to place an order so when he gets there it was a simple pay and go type of transaction in which this includes receiving an email confirmation. As it turns out, he got yelled at by the lady who was working there 20JAN2022 @ around 6:00P. She was yelling and getting frustrated with him because he should not have made an order online. A couple of things; How do we as a customer know that your online ordering system is faulty? How do we know as a customer you don't prefer online orders? How do we know as a customer how your business works? IF YOU DO NOT DO ONLINE ORDERS THEN TAKE IT DOWN!!!! When that happens no one will be able to do online orders! The options will be to call ahead or walk in. For argument sake, say your system didn't process that online order DO NOT YELL at my partner telling him what he should have done! I'm sure everyone who works in Customer Service will say along the lines of, "We must apologize for the inconvenience that this cause as our online system can be faulty at times. I will gladly expedite your order it'll be done as soon as possible. We are sorry!" Or "what we can do is........." then my partner would respond, "oh that's a bummer if you can please expedite my order" then LIFE GOES ON and that's just business.... STOP YELLING AT YOUR CUSTOMERS especially if it is not our fault. Sad to say we just move to the area and enjoy Chinese takeout quite often. Your food is subpar compare to other Chinese restaurants that we have tried. So don't come at my partner with that attitude especially when your food is not special at all. My new favorite Chinese joint when I need my chinese food fix. One of the few places where I can get non-spicy mei fun. Very clean and typical chinese take out with some added treasures. As I mentioned the Chow mei fun was excellent. Also the Egg foo yung was tasty too. The place is in the publix strip mall in winter park. Easy to park and also very clean there. TL;DR: Typical Chinese takeout on the higher side of quality with generous portions and friendly staff. We were in the middle of moving and decided to go for some take out New York style Chinese. We had passed this place several times during the move and joked about it being our late night drunk food place. We were surprised to discover that, while typical fare for takeout, it wasn't so greasy as to destroy our stomachs like some other places. I had the General Tso's chicken and was pleased to have enough leftover for a good lunch the next day. They also deliver to the local area, so a definite plus. This is a chinese takeout restaurant next to the newer Publix on orlando ave near fairbanks. I went on a whim craving for sesame chicken for lunch and found this place. It was pretty busy inside with a few tables, but I ordered takeout. After I made my order, my food came out in less than 2 minutes! Extremely quick service and the prices are very inexpensive! And for the amount of food you get, its a steal!! There are also specials where you can get an egg roll and soup, but I just got the meal and it was deeee-lish! Definitely satisfied my craving. I rarely order Chinese delivery...too often these places are super unhealthy and overall just "meh." Lol Based on the food, I'm really pleased! It usually only takes about 10 min (from when I place my order by phone) for our order to be ready. My favorites are the mixed won ton/egg drop soup, the shrimp lo mein and the egg rolls. My husband always orders one of the combination meals which is a good value as it comes with a cooked meat of your choice, pork fried rice and egg roll. My go to Chinese takeout in Orlando/Winter Park. I always get my take out from this shop located next between Publix and the AAA office. Family owned, consistent food quality, and fast service. Call ahead or order and wait. Food usually takes 10-20 minutes--not bad! They pack to-go orders in the nicer plastic containers that work great for storing the leftovers in your fridge for the next day. I always get the same things. Fried Dumplings, Crab Rangoon, and Sesame Chicken or General Tso's. All of that for about $20 or so with plenty left over. read more
