I've been craving all these food so I got House special fried rice, I feel like it's missing a seasoning. It was okay for me and there's lots of meat it so that's a good thing. Shrimp balls are my favorite they are big and lots of meat inside. I love it!! Shrimp dumplings soft and good portion I love it!! Shrimp and chive dumplings are really good and they're big I love how chewy it is, feels like mochi! Shrimp and pork Sumai are big portion it's good. Shrimp and Tofu needs some seasoning it just tofu. It's was okay.. Sesame balls are really big and delicious the most I love!! Egg tart was good and their big portion. The service is great! I'm not sure if she's the owner but she was really nice and kind they always checked on me and refills my water. I hope they had more drink options. The place is clean and organized. I will definitely come back here!

Oh how this restaurant has fallen. Its been a few years since i visited this place. It used ro be that if you wanted Dim Sum (before covid) there were several restaurants on 50 that you could go to. Peters was considered the best. I was extremely disappointed. I tried a few things and they were flavorless. The restaurant was empty at 6pm.

This place is not called Peter's Kitchen anymore, but I didn't see the new name listed as a choice in yelp. It has new management, but little has changed here. The servers are very attentive and checked in on our table often. Most people come here for the dim sum. I decided not to do dim sum and order entrees for this visit. I did notice that the dim sum orders came out much quicker than the traditional menu items. I waited about 40 minutes for my tofu to be served and was quite hungry. This is a family style set up where dishes are brought to the table as they are ready and you just share the plates. Unfortunately, I was the only non meat eater there so I couldn't eat until my order was ready and it was last! The food itself was good. I ordered the black pepper tofu chasing a high from a black pepper tofu dish that I ate over 25 years ago in a restaurant that has since closed. It's not as good, so I will order something else next time. Everyone else at the table gave positive ratings to their meals.

I think my rating after several years remains the same. Food is pretty consistent. Very flavorful and comes out hot. The only downside was that during my last visit, the air seemed to not be on. It was HOT- and during Florida summers... that's never fun.

I've had a love/hate relationship with Peter and his Bistro (sounds like a bad children's book), and decided to give it another try since dining during Those Covid Days. It still wasn't what I remember before craziness hit the earth, but it's a bit better than the 2 stars I gave it last time. The main reason for the "just Ok" was the last visit being a tale of 2 dishes. The first being the absolutely amazing Szechuan Wontons. These are so good and I'd go back for these. They're not as good as Chuan Lu Garden's (my absolute favorite), but good enough. The main course was the Dan Dan Noodles. I jokingly called them Bland Bland Noodles because they have no flavor (the same I found with the Mapo Tofu). Dan Marino would surely Pass on these! Danny DeVito would throw these noodles from the train. Dan Fouts would also Pass on these (gimme a break, there aren't that many famous "Dans" out there). I guess like any restaurant, they do some dishes very well and others not so well. I've just been picking more of the "bad" ones lately. What gives, Peter?

Came for Dim Sum and to take an entree to-go for lunch the next day. First of all, the chili oil that they have on the tables tastes great with EVERYTHING. I even put it on the sweet egg buns we got and it was so good haha. Let's talk Dim Sum. I think the prices were extremely fair for the portions! All the buns were made perfectly. The Siu Mai was delicious and pretty big/filled up! The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the Crispy Seafood Dumplings. They kind of reminded me of empanadas but made with tempura. My boyfriend loved the crispy seafood dumplings though. Let's talk about the entrees. I got orange chicken, and my boyfriend got general tso's chicken. THE ENTREES WERE SO GOOD. I could actually taste the fresh orange in the orange chicken. I've been to a few Chinese restaurants that you can't tell the difference between the general tso's and orange chickens.. but this was definitely distinguishable! I wish it came with more broccoli though. The staff was extremely attentive to our needs. They even boxed up our food when we asked for boxes for our stuff to go (I was not expecting them to actually box up our food. So nice of them) and they even brought an extra container of the chili oil without us asking because they saw how much we were using haha. I will say though that our table was near the sinks or something, and I felt like we were being watched by the staff while we ate. I would've liked a bit more privacy, but they have other tables in the restaurant that are away from the area that the staff runs out the food. Just unlucky table placement for us! I would definitely come back.

This is the "new recipe" for general tso

Ordered general tso chicken & was given something closer to orange chicken. Staff insists this is general tso chicken, not spicy & sweet. The beef lo mein is flavorless. This use to be my favorite place. We won't be back. Don't recommend

I haven't been able to find just a normal old school Chinese restaurant around here until tonight. Pulled in on a whim cuz we were in the area. When I seen the vinegar on the tables and the lazy Susan's I knew I may have found something good. The fried rice was delicious as was the orange chicken. I liked the mushu pork but my husband wasn't a fan of that dish. I'll def be back. I wanna try the beef next time. I'm just so glad we have another Chinese option other than changs. Give this place a try

Pros: Such a good vibe in this place during dim sum brunches. Nothing makes the people happier than those carts rolling around, ready for the picking. Service is always great. The ladies always seem to know what to recommend, based on what you've ordered thus far. The food is always ridiculous. How do they make it so delicious? I've never had a bad thing from here. Cons: No cons. There are only cons if you don't come with enough friends. Then you don't get to try as many things. Tips: Everything is great. One thing I was pleasantly surprises by was the turnip cake with XO sauce. Never had it before, but now it's my favorite thing!

Service was great but the dim sum not so much. We tried several plates and the best one was probably the siu mai and fried shrimp ball. Unfortunately the rice noodle was very pasty like and the fried rice did not have a good flavor. We could barely eat it so it went to waste. The service was excellent though but can't say I'd come back.

Larry was a very nice waiter, the restaurant was clean being decorated very nicely. My favorite dish was the braised pork belly, very soft and delicious. My Singapore noodles were cold sadly. But nice flavor and it comes with shrimp, beef, and pork mixed in. The sesame chicken was the best I've ever had. Very light breading and amazing chicken, it's pretty sweet. My family and I have been looking for a nice sit down Chinese restaurant, this place is it!

Peter's Kitchen is located in a standalone building and shares a parking lot with Burger King, so there's plenty of parking. The decor is standard Chinese restaurant vibe which is interesting since this place was completely remodeled when it opened. There's and old-fashioned fell with several large circular tables for groups and many smaller 2 or 4 person tables. Nothing exciting to look at but it's adequate. This restaurant is recently known for their dim sum. I'd have to say it's a better option than Lam's Garden, because their quality has gone way downhill in recent years. I've actually had dim sum at Peter's Kitchen twice since they opened and it's got some good and some mediocre items. I've also stopped in for their lunch, which is reasonably priced at $9.99 and comes with a soda. Dinner price point is a little higher than most Chinese restaurants. Service is usually hit or miss. Sometimes I'll get a seasoned staff member who is pretty efficient and quick, but the last few times I've been stuck with a new server. Although he's a nice guy, service was below par. I've had to wait for my entree while everything else was served. Not to mention you have to hail someone down if you need anything. I'm sure service will improve with time. Just make sure you check your check since they incorporated a new system so you may be charged for your sodas when it's included in the lunches. On this occasion, I had lunch with my sister. My favorite is the Shrimp with Chinese Vegetables. They are generous with the number of shrimps and it's seasoned well (whenever they don't forget to add a pinch of sugar). The rice is a bit dry so I drowned it with their hot chili oil so it worked out. My sister ordered the Chicken with Black Bean Sauce which she was disappointed. There's a slight charred taste to it that makes it bitter. In the past we tried the General Tso's Chicken but it tasted more like Sweet and Sour Chicken and not our favorite. For good General Tso's you need to go to He Sheng on University Blvd. I ordered the Fish Maw Soup. It was well seasoned and a good balance with the lunches, but for $14.50, it was quite smaller than I expected. A few other times I've tried other dishes, yet they were also hit or miss. All in all, I have a love-dislike relationship with this restaurant. I can say I like the flavors enough to return, but if I lived closer to Yummy House in Altamonte Springs, I'd much rather go there. I'd have to say some of their dish's are quite similar in flavoring which is why I'd return to Peter's Kitchen. If you're looking for affordable lunch and a step up from the fast food style Chinese fare, you should stop in to Peter's Kitchen.

Ask the Community - Peter's Kitchen China Bistro

I just heard that Peter's Kitchen is under new management... is this true?

Yes it is under a new owner since January 1, 2024

Do you still have dim sum cart service on the weekends?

Last I went, yes they do. 😊

Do you serve eggplant stuffed with shrimp as an entree or only dim sum? Do you serve the stuffed eggplant on weekday dim sum or only weekends? Could we pickup entree orders of stuffed eggplant to go? Do you do curbside? Takeout window?

You can get all menu items any time they are open. The do have take out, you can pick up inside or call when you arrive for curbside delivery.

Do they have vegan options on the dim sum?

They do... and I love the fried turnip the most!!!

Do they have vegan dim sum?

I know they have incredible turnip dim sum and Chinese broccoli in fish sauce and will probably do a special order for other vegan dim sum if given adequate notice. Suggest you call ahead.

    Do you have soup dumplings?

Hi Alexis, we have Hong Kong Soup Dumpling which has soup inside the dumpling and it’s served in a soup broth. Also, we have Shanghai Dumpling which has pork and a little bit of juice inside. We hope you’ll come try them!

Do you guys open on 4th of July?

Hi Jojo, yes we’ll be open from 11 am - 9:30 pm. We hope to see you then!

Can we make a reservation for weekend dimsum? Do we need to be over a certain amount of people?

No reservations on the weekend, first come first serve!

Do you serve soup dumplings (xiao long bao I believe they are called)? I have been trying to find these in Orlando.

Hi Jen, we have Hong Kong Soup Dumpling which has soup inside the dumpling and it’s served in a soup broth. Also, we have Shanghai Dumplings which is filled with pork and some juice inside. We hope you’ll come try both items!

Do you only have the dim sum carts on the weekends?

Hi Natalie, yes the dim sum carts (with more specialty items) are only available on Sat-Sun from 11 am - 3 pm. However, you can still order from our dim sum menu on Mon-Sun (except Wed because we’re closed) from 11 am - 8 pm. We hope you’ll come… Read more

    Do you deliver to ORMC?

Hi Judes, we use UberEats for our delivery service. You will have to either go on UberEats website or download their app to see if they deliver to you. Hopefully this helped!

Do you sell pineapple buns during the week or just over the weekend dim sum hours?

Hi Ronette, we sell the Pineapple Buns on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am through until we sell out. We hope you’ll come try our freshly baked Pineapple Buns this weekend!

Do they serve dim sum on the weekend?

Hello Michelle, yes we serve dim sum everyday from 11-8 pm (except Wednesdays because we’re closed). On Saturdays and Sundays we have the dim sum carts (with more specialty items) from 11-3 pm. We hope to see you soon! Thank you.
