Shrimp egg foo young

I ordered shrimp egg foo young lunch special. The wonton soup was fantastic, salt level was perfect! The egg foo young was delicious as well. Crab rangoon was really good as well. Must try! Service was great also!

I've been getting take out from here for several years. It is hit or miss. Today, with my Kung Pao Chicken it was a miss. The chicken was a bit tough. The normal Kung Pao spices were absent. It tasted more like a generic wok fried dish. Service was great, fast and efficient. It is an average neighborhood take out option in an area with limited options. What do you think?

Are those feathers??? Lol

Well.... What do I have to say about this one. I have never had chicken with feathers. I suppose this is the freshest chicken in DC? Killed and partial defeathered in the back of house? With that being said, the chicken up to the discovery of this piece was, dare I say, good? Lol. Eat at your own risk and hopefully you won't end up with chicken feathers. One of the reasons we picked this place was because it says they had Mumbo sauce but I'm not sure that's what we got. It looked and tasted like sweet and sour. Bright red in color. A little disappointed. Lastly, the fried rice was plain and meh, and the orange chicken had so much orange peel it was overwhelming. Side note: I ordered through UberEats so I didn't have a chance to ask clarify questions regarding Mumbo sauce so it is what it is. I'll try another Carryout before this trip is over.

While chefs and restaurateurs despise Yelp, if there's one place no one can argue is reviewing carryout. It's the food of people and no matter how refined palate, your cravings cave you into going at least once a year. It's the type of food that unites people. That said, the average person could and should review carryout spots. If you browse Yelp, you'll notice most carryout places have fewer than 3 stars and many first hand accounts of food poisoning. So, when you stumble upon a 4-star carryout, you MUST go. That's how I came across Hong Kong Carryout. I used to live around the corner and it never ever caught my eye until Yelp pointed me there. After having dinner there, I see why it's rated so highly. It delivers you an experience, which us millennials love. It's a tiny house next to a bodega in Hill East off of the popular East Capitol Street. Despite the outside looking dirty, the inside is surprisingly bare and clean. There is a random picture of a city skyline inside and then the takeout window with a friendly guy behind it. Order a special or any item off their extensive menu and watch the older men make it through the window. There's a bench to sit on while you wait for your food. My friend ordered the chicken and broccoli per the cashier's recommendation, but the flavor fell flat. What did NOT disappoint was the sesame chicken. It's perfectly cooked and is full of flavor. Bot dishes came with rice and the large was more than enough for dinner AND lunch the next day- both just over $11. They have a fridge full of unhealthy drinks and the only water they have is bottled water you have to pay for (isn't that illegal to refuse free water to a customer?). Note: It's cash only, but there's an ATM just outside. It's been a full 36 hours and neither my friend and I are sick. That's winning in the carryout world.

The door is always open so u don't need to touch it

Capitol Hill secret. The family grabs take-out from here probably once every two weeks and it's always fresh and tasty.

You can't beat that bang for your buck corner shop Chinese. Not trying to be fancy or flashy just a good meal for a few dollar bills.

After today's order, this will be my last time ordering. They cook with old oil, fries taste like…read moreseafood. Today my chicken was fried with feathers and the chicken has a odd smell to it. I understand that this particular establishment is in an urban area, but this is not acceptable. This is just as worst as selling expired meats to people in poverty stricken neighborhoods. Chicken with feathers mean the chicken was NOT CLEANED BEFORE COOKING. Unacceptable!!

Yo this is my favorite spot everrrrrr. I even love them more than Popeyes! The staff is always…read moresupper respectful to me an my family everytime we come in an get my order perfect with little to no mistakes. Now lets dig in ...... The Pros The wings is always on point for me especially the mild- parmesan flavor is my favorite. I always order the combo in the 10 or 15 peace. The flavors are always on point an they have over 20 different flavors so try them until you find your favorite. The hush puppies will make you smack somebody! They are always hot, fresh an never over cooked or dry. That triple mix though ............. Jesus if i could drink it everyday I would. Its a mix of their tea, lemonade an mango . It will make you go back for seconds an thirds so yeah its that damn good. The Con's I would say they do need to improve on their French fry game though. The fries are skimpy an get really dry an cold quick so not a good choice. Other than that they rock on the wing game an will always continue to come back at least 6 or more times a month as I always do.
