I love coming to King's Street Oyster Bar for their happy hour specials. I usually stop by specifically for the $1.25 oysters-- they're such a great deal. They also offer a variety of other specials: including $6 cocktails & wine and food options ranging from $6-$11. I recently had a solo happy hour on the patio, and it was such a great experience. The customer service was excellent, and everything from the food to the drinks hit the spot. Definitely a go-to for a laid-back, affordable happy hour.

One of my favorite HH spots. It's always a good time and the vibe depends on the day and time that you come. This trip was a Wednesday at HH on a nice 70 degree day so it was pretty packed outside and got a little loud at times. We had Renee as our server and she was great. Super attentive, friendly, and timely even with all the customers she was serving. Other servers checked in on us to while making rounds. I got oysters, tenders, and crab cake sliders, along with a white peach margarita and some house punches. My friends ordered the HH shrimp, po' boy, more oysters, and too many drinks to count. The prices use to be a little lower (and I hope they can go back to their original prices!) but the food and drinks were delicious per usual and I commend the consistency at this place. Will be back!

My husband loves raw oysters so we came here for happy hour. I had a reservation, so we were seated quickly. It was very packed as expected for a nice Friday afternoon. My husband got a dozen raw oysters and the fried green tomatoes. I got a shrimp po boy and brussel sprouts. My husband enjoyed the oysters so much he got another dozen. The shrimp was seasoned perfectly, while I didn't care for the slaw on the po boy it was still good. The brussel spouts were pretty good too. They weren't mushy and the sauce was good. Definitely a great spot for happy hour.

A locally heralded spot, King Street Oyster Bar does not disappoint. Whether you are roaming around Downtown Leesburg while on vacation or a resident, this local establishment is always bustling. Make a reservation; otherwise, you may end up with seating throughout ( i.e. at the bar, high tops, etc.). The service is friendly and the recommendations are attentive to the customers. Definitely check out their happy hour menu! The portions are size able and the food is flavorful. The seafood is curated and the flavors of the sea hit all the good notes of eating seafood. The portions are shareable and it's my recommendation to go family style! If oysters is in the title of your place, 100% you need to order them. And 100% this assumption is correct. The oysters were spectacular. A balance between being the right salty flavor without making you feel like you are eating bad sea water. It was fresh, sweet, salty, and balanced. Things I had: - Brussels Sprouts ( order these!) - Shrimp Bites ( Yum) - Spinach artichoke dip - Cobb salad ( good play on the traditional) - linguine and clam Pasta ( Yum and the sauce is delicious + garlic bread) -Oysters ( must get)

I always have a really great time at this spot. The happy hour cannot be beat and runs on a daily basis--there's really something for everyone. Keep in mind that there is a 90 min table time limits for hh. The oysters and seafood always taste delicious and fresh. I usually stick to the crab cake sliders and oysters. It's definitely a place you can pop in by yourself, or with others, although it can be busy and tight in space for large parties. There's also a patio.

This place can get very lively for happy hour but the staff is very nice and good at their jobs. I do have to start off saying that the drinks were a miss for me unfortunately but the food was good. The brussel sprouts were delicious. Shrimp po boy was nicely seasoned and the bread was soft. Now the crab cake sandwich in the happy hour menu looks like one sandwich split into two so do with that what you will but it was good still.

You will find metered street parking in front of the restaurant and within a reasonable walking distance. The restaurant has a large patio area on the side and a small one up front. There is a full bar with seating and a decent sized dining area. As you would have guessed, the restaurant serves raw and fried oyster, calamari, crab cakes, lobster rolls, shrimps, salmon and scallop dishes. I placed my order online and ordered the fried oyster poboy which came with fries. I also got some hush puppies. When I got there i found a spot right out front and planned on just running in, getting my meal, and being on my way. That was not the case. Apparantly, they have to approve all online orders, which they had not done in the 20 minutes it took me to get there. So, they only approved my order after I inquired about it. They really need to fix that system. I thought I was saving time but, I ended up waiting there about 15 to 20 minutes. I would have expected that they put some urgency on my order after it was finally approved, but that did not happen. My food was between ok and good. I was not a fan of the hush puppies and could not finish them. They were not very good. The fries were decent, but some of them were overcooked. The oyster poboy was good. It may not have been the best that I have had, but I liked it. The cole slaw and bread really made it that much better. I have mixed feelings about this place. I would not be opposed to coming back here. It just would not be my first choice.

King Street Oyster Bar is easily one of DC's best spots for a great happy hour, especially if you're an oyster lover. The atmosphere is lively without feeling overwhelming, and the staff keeps things moving smoothly even when the place gets busy. The happy hour deals are fantastic--fresh oysters at a great price, along with a solid selection of cocktails, wine, and beer. The oysters are consistently clean, flavorful, and well-shucked, and the drinks are refreshing and well-crafted. It's the perfect combination for an after-work stop or a relaxed start to the evening. If you're in DC and want quality oysters and drinks without the high price tag, King Street Oyster Bar's happy hour is absolutely worth checking out.

Pretty decent happy hour location in the city. Just don't forget that there is a 18% gratuity on your check. I will say that my margarita was very mid and I just end up switching over to the red sangria after the first one. My favorite dish was the brussels sprouts but the fried green tomatoes came in as a strong second. During happy time obviously the music is just right, but it is very crowded so don't expect to sit there and not have every table filled next to you. Our waitress checked on us numerous times without being obnoxious or a headache being that there is a time limit on the happy hour tables so I do appreciate that. Check them out when you have a chance. One last thing parking is horrible over there, so the best thing to do is probably taking the metro

King Street Oyster Bar is the queen of happy hours, and it never EVER disappoints! The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but the atmosphere is lively, the service is always on point, and the food hits every time. I had the burger, mussels, and shrimp+, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Whether you're there for drinks, small bites, or a full meal, you really can't go wrong here. Definitely one of my favorite go-to spots for a good vibe and great food.

Came here on a Friday night and was lucky enough for it to be a nice summer night. King St is a neighborhood favorite and is always packed and this night was no exception. We were able to get seated immediately. The restaurant is definitely more casual than upscale and people tend to come here for happy hour after work or to grab a drink. We missed their happy hour which ends at 6 M- F but I ordered the fried shrimp po boy with fries and was pleasantly surprised. I very rarely order sandwiches but this one did not disappoint. The shrimp was fried and seasoned to perfection. Just the right amount of crisp. The bread was perfectly toasted and the filling was delicious. I do wish there was a bit more of the filling in comparison to the shrimp but not a major complaint. The only place of disappointment was the fries. Unfortunately, they came unsalted which was surprising considering how well seasoned the shrimp was but our lovely waiter brought over some salt and pepper. Would highly recommend this place! It's not super high end but I've never been disappointed.

We came here for happy hour and were blown away! The charbroiled oysters were absolute seriously some of the best I've had. Hush puppies were delicious, and the spicy margarita? Whew! Proceed with caution, it packs serious heat. We also ordered the wings and Brussels sprouts, and everything was on point. Flavorful, hot, fresh, and perfectly executed. On top of that, the vibe was great, the staff was super friendly, and it felt like one of those spots where you could hang for hours (and we did). I can't recommend this place enough

Maybe they were all reserved? Not sure. We were greeted by the staffs and shown to the table. Smooth and fast. All the menu looked tempting so had hard time choosing which one to go with. Went with meatloaf and miso salmon. Meatloaf was really good! Flavorful with tender/juicy meat combined with onions, bell peppers etc. Miso salmon was also good! Okra and broccoli were adding more taste to the dish itself. No complaints at all! The prices were on the higher side though. Menu says each are $28. However, there was mandatory service charge of 20% and tax was calculated after the service charge, which end up being approximately $40 per menu item we got - miso salmon and meatloaf. Wish the menu price would just include service charges so prices would not be misleading with all the charges after. Not sure if this is because of World Cup 2026, but too bad they had to hit their customers with extra fees after enjoying the meals which could have ended happily rather than leaving a bad taste in the mouth.

We were originally drawn in because we were excited to try their homemade Pop-Tart! Accommodating & Kind: Our waiter was a very nice gentleman. The kitchen was more than happy to make small adjustments to our orders for dietary needs, which we deeply appreciated. Kudos to the Staff: The waitstaff does a phenomenal job, especially considering the clientele. This area tends to attract a lot of pompous professionals, and we witnessed customers being incredibly rude to the staff on two back-to-back visits. A Note on the Crowd: For example, we were in on a Thursday afternoon and watched a large group of business professionals completely ignore their server. They wouldn't even acknowledge them or say thank you. It felt like olden times, where the staff were treated like servants to a king or queen and were just expected to take abuse. It was really bad. A Quick Note on the Checkout Process Rushed Payment: The payment process felt a bit rushed. The server hands you a small payment machine and quickly pushes you to complete the transaction right then and there. Keep an Eye Out: We aren't the type of people to scrutinize a bill closely--if it's right around the expected amount, we don't worry about it. However, the lady at the table right before us was loudly complaining about a service fee on her bill, and she ended up not leaving a tip at all because of it. Combined with how fast they push the payment machine on you, it might be worth taking a quick second to look over your total if you are the type of person who likes to verify the fine print. Come on people, do better! Overall Impression It is an expensive spot, but the food quality, cleanliness, and excellent service from the waitstaff make it worth a visit. The staff handles a tough crowd beautifully!

I sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly but busy restocking as it was towards the end of the day. I had the cheery old fashion as she promised it was one of their stronger drinks. I didn't find this to be true, it was actually overly sweet and tasted more like syrup. The second drink I picked was the bourbon bash. I thought this one would be sweet as it's made with different juices but it was actually on the stronger side. Definitely stronger and better than the Cherry old-fashioned. To snack on I went with the steak and cheese, eggrolls and bacon, blue cheese brussels sprouts. The egg rolls were great. Lots of flavor and the texture was spot on. The brussels sprouts were good for the most part. They did go a little overboard with the blue cheese for my tastebuds. My second visit was for a late breakfast. I started with an Irish coffee by recommendation of the bartender. It was a great way to start the day. It was strong enough but with the right balance. My breakfast plate didn't meet my expectations. My eggs were too running, bacon was chewy, toast was stale and the hash browns were only cooked on one side. I did ask for them to be crispy. I picked at it enough to curb my hunger.

That said, a couple missteps that should not have occurred took this review into the negative realm. Let's start with the positive. This appears to be a great new addition to the neighborhood, and I hope it is supported. The appetizers were delicious and nicely presented. The pistachio feta with grilled pita was tasty and interesting. The halloumi with orange marmalade was as well. The hostess was engaging and friendly. The atmosphere was calming with a touch of casual refinement. One of the entrees was delicious (the scallops and grits). I'd order all three items mentioned so far, again. The negative. The second entree was the short rib. It was tender and.... Wow, way too salty. A shame because it was otherwise well cooked and nicely plated. But whoa. When the hostess came by, my girlfriend kindly said it was a bit salty. I "refined" her answer and said she was being nice, but it was very salty. The hostess went to note this for the kitchen (a positive for her), and because we are on the first floor outside the kitchen window I heard the conversation. The chef responded that he knew what had happened. Earlier when preparing the short rib someone (in his words) blasted it with salt. What this tells me is that they knew they'd made something close to inedible but served it anyway. At the end of our meal we had leftovers of the two apps and the short rib. We asked for a bit of extra pita to take home and they provided. Then the bill arrived. Not only was there no adjustment for the inedible short rib, but they charged us $2 for the pita. The least they could have done was just given us the pita. Ah well. Those two missteps; 1) serving a known and improperly prepared entree, and 2) not doing something to make good when reported, have led to this sadly negative review for a place that could and should have gotten a positive one. Hopefully someone there will see this, and the experience and review will be a learning opportunity that will help them thrive.

We were seated almost immediately which was great but it took the waiter 15 min to come to our table and the restaurant wasn't really crowded. Once he came to our table we gave him our order for drinks. He did not offer water so we asked for water. It took approximately 25 min to receive our drinks and still no water. He finally brought the water when I asked a second time. While we were waiting for our drinks he was steadily walking around aimlessly until he realized we did not receive our drinks. After delivering our drinks we were finally able to order our food. Our food came out in a decent time however, I was so annoyed by this point. For our entrees we ordered the Cajun salmon with grits and the Cajun pasta with chicken and salmon. The Cajun salmon was good but they gave a small portion in ratio of the amount of grits given. The grits were a bit cold and could have used some more seasoning. The Cajun pasta with chicken and salmon was delicious but could have been hotter as well. For drinks we ordered the pineapple Hennessy and whisky margarita. The Pineapple Hennessy was delicious. The margarita could have been stronger and less sweet. Overall, it was decent experience. Not sure if I will return though. Cheers!
