We go to Suns quite often. The food is great!!! We love the peking fried rice the chicken wings and the egg foo young. The only thing is when eating in the room gets cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Also, the atmosphere needs improving. But GREAT FOOD!!! I just wanted to add this to my original comment about suns. Last night I had the worst experience there. We did a call in order. After we picked up the order we drove home and realized the order was wrong. This is the second time we got the wrong order. So I called them and was expecting, a apology...well I got just the opposite. The lady was very rude and tried to tell me I ordered the wrong thing. Well, I was just going to settle for the food we did not want but I decided to take it back for either the correct food or a refund. When I walked threw the doors she started to explain to me loudly in front of customers how I made a mistake, I told her I was charged for what I asked for but this is not my order. She still continued...She was very rude and made me feel terrible. So after I tried to be nice I told her that they have a communication problem when they are taking orders over the phone. I stood there and watched them make the correct order for me. She was up front taking money then went back to fix food without washing her hands or putting on gloves. If this is the way they treat customers...I will NEVER EVER GO BACK TO SUN'S!!!!! read more

I've continued to support Sun Sun Chinese Food in Richton Park because the food is genuinely good, but the customer service experience has become frustrating enough that it needs to be addressed. The young man who answers the phone is consistently rude and unprofessional. On multiple occasions, he has hung up before confirming my order or even allowing the conversation to finish properly. His tone and overall disposition toward customers come across as dismissive and unpleasant every time I call. I understand restaurants get busy, and I always try to give grace, but repeated disrespectful interactions make customers not want to spend their money there. Good food should come with basic professionalism and courtesy. I truly hope management addresses this because the restaurant has potential, but customer service matters just as much as the food. read more

This place used to be decent everything changes I guess. The egg rolls are mass produced in freezer burnt same with the crab Rangoon. Doesn't anyone make stuff homemade anymore? Jumbo shrimp fried rice was just OK. Beef chow, fun was nasty now using the thin clear noodles not the nice thick ones like before, beef was un edible. My dogs will love it though. Where do I begin? I ordered pepper steak fried rice and received what can only be described as fried rice with maybe two or three microscopic pieces of steak. It was misleading, poorly prepared, and completely unacceptable. Beyond the food, the customer service was just as bad. The experience was dismissive and unprofessional from start to finish. For a business serving this community, the lack of quality and care is disappointing. I will never return, nor would I recommend this establishment to anyone. I don't know was in my food or when I was prepared. I just purchased it 7/12/24 and I have been on the toilet for the last two days!!! I will never order from this restaurant again. The beef was terribly mushy. The sauce doesn't taste the same and I placed a very large order and picked it up. I threw it away I didn't even bother returning because of course they wouldn't replace or refund the food anyway. Do NOT eat here!!! The quality has gone down the tubes but the prices are increasing. Sometimes you have to give in to cravings. Sun Sun has been around for many years, and the food is so good and reasonably priced that I know why. Now, back to cravings... I was craving veggie shrimp fried rice and my folks and husband wanted chicken lo mein, chicken fried rice, Kung pao chicken, and egg rolls. No egg, no mushrooms, and no water chestnuts. It's raining so we decided to make it a takeout order. It took 15 minutes to prepare the food, and the person who took our order was friendly, professional, and most of all accurate. Our first choice for Chinese was closed so we tried Sun Sun. Not a fan... anything fried like Gen Tsao Chicken or Sweet and Sour Chicken came out soggy with lots of wet batter, small bits of chicken and no crunch. I'll order pizza next time versus going back here. For those looking in the area, definitely try China Garden instead. read more

I've ordered take out from here a few times now. The fried chicken wings are excellent, some of the best chicken I've ever tasted. It'salways hot and fresh. So in the event you want good service and good food, you can skip this place for both. Asked for white rice due to an egg food allergy and received fried rice with egg. I politely asked for my order to be remade and was aggressively declined while asking to repay for same product. I would not suggest this poorly managed establishment to a dog. This was my 2nd visit to Sun Sun Chinese restaurant, and I ordered a large Orange Chicken. (The 1st time I had it, which was about 2 weeks ago, it was very tasty). Today I got it, and shared it with my mom and we were not impressed. My mom said the chicken was not fresh. I found the chicken to be dry and hard around the edges under the breading and parts a little chewy. She gave the Shrimp Egg Foo Young a thumbs up though. The only reason this is a 1 star review is because I can't give them 0. Terrible service, terrible food. Literally the worst orange chicken, general tso's, and Mongolian beef my friends and I have ever had. Food was fresh, but so soggy the chicken was mushy. Just had the worst experience. I placed a order, got my food, and headed home. Only to find out, my main dish was missing. So I drove back, and explained. All I got back was negative resistance. Telling me I should recheck my empty bag. Or I could go back home, and bring the food back, and get a refund. This is what I got back for being calm. I've always found Sun-Sun Chinese Restaurant to be a very pleasant place. The food is good and the place is always clean. The service is always top notch, as well. I read another review whic commented on staff taking an 'attitude' with her. I've been in Sun-Sun numerous times where the customers bring attitude first...and I'm talking about the IGNORANT style of attitude. I would venture to say that this is exactly what the reviewer mentioned earlier brought. The fact that she will not be returning is a relief to all of the Sun-Sun customers. The best part of a recent "meet and greet" was his decision to get food from this establishment. I'm SO serious!!! He told me their food was good and to me, it's actually better than good. Hot, flavorful and delicious. On 7/24/15, I actually went to the establishment myself since I was in the area and ordered take out. Wait one second, you mean you can get good Chinese food AND play the Illinois lottery and/or get scratch-off twickets here? Unbelievable but good business idea for whoever thought of it. Staff was extremely friendly. Very good lighting in the restaurant and if you want to sit and dine in, you can, it's not just a take out food place. Try them and if you like shrimp, they have plenty of options to choose from where they put a good size amount of shrimp in their entrees. I love Chinese food and this place is tops. Although it looks like a little hole in the wall, the flavors are delish. They are expensive, but if you get a lunch or dinner combo plate it is the best deal. Eating in the restaurant isn't exciting because the atmosphere is kind of outdated. I live in the area. I've visited this restaurant on several occasions & the food & customer service WAS always pretty good. On Saturday 12/01/18 I ordered a large jumbo shrimp fried rice & a small shrimp egg foo young for my fiancé & I. I got back home from picking up my order. I prepared my food & the food was HORRIBLE! It taste like it was sitting up & it taste like old grease. Some of the rice was hard & some was very mushy. My food was NOT freshly prepared at all! It gets worst... I called & informed them about my order & they said to bring the food back. I'm thinking ok they're agreeing to take the food back for a refund! To make a long story short the customer service I received was completely unacceptable! If you gave me old food why would I want to order anything else from you!?! The "manager" goes on to say it's policy & procedure NO REFUNDS! After opening the rice that appreared old to them as well they opened the egg foo young. They kept referencing the egg foo young like you only had a small piece how do you know it taste old?!? In other words I agree with you on the rice but there is nothing wrong with the egg foo young! Worst experience I've ever had! To not want to refund an unhappy customer is completely unacceptable! Make a long story short I received my refund! But I am not done with them yet!! I live 45 minutes north from it. And the only way i can get to it, is when someone takes me to Sun-Sun's. When I order from it, I always load up on their food to last me a few days, after dining inside. That's how good their food is.
