Rice was old , hard, tasteless, chicken had no flavor , did not seem fresh. Chicken Was also very soggy . Seemed more like sweet and sour chicken than general Tso's

Sometimes you have to give in to cravings. Sun Sun has been around for many years, and the food is so good and reasonably priced that I know why. Now, back to cravings... I was craving veggie shrimp fried rice and my folks and husband wanted chicken lo mein, chicken fried rice, Kung pao chicken, and egg rolls. No egg, no mushrooms, and no water chestnuts. It's raining so we decided to make it a takeout order. It took 15 minutes to prepare the food, and the person who took our order was friendly, professional, and most of all accurate. There's nothing worse than bringing an order home, and it's wrong. Every item was delicious! I will be back.

They have faired poorly on recent orders. Egg rolls are a joke. No flavor. Cost cutting?

A no nonsense restaurant with great lunch specials that are reasonably priced with large portions and a friendly staff.

Yesterday I had the chicken & broccoli lunch special. The texture of the chicken was strange. It was rubbery and cold.

Date: October 29, 2025 at 2 PM…read more TL;DR: Good food, kind staff, but a few mix-ups along the way. The shrimp fried rice and broccoli in oyster sauce were delicious, and the almond cookies were a nice surprise. However, the cashew shrimp missed the mark with literally, no cashews; and the automatic 10% gratuity caught me off guard. Still, I'd go back for the fried rice and broccoli, just with a bit more attention to detail next time. Food: 4/5 The food overall was great, though not quite what I expected. The shrimp fried rice was made extra spicy with chili oil, a flavorful twist I didn't see coming but really enjoyed. The broccoli in oyster sauce was fresh, aromatic, and perfectly cooked. The almond cookies and fortune were a sweet highlight. However, the cashew shrimp was a miss. There were no cashews at all, and the dish itself wasn't prepared in the style I've had before. Because of that, I wouldn't order it again, but I'd absolutely come back for the fried rice and broccoli. Customer Service: 3/5 The staff was kind and polite over the phone when I placed my order and answered all my questions clearly. Pickup was quick and easy, which I appreciated. However, when I got home and realized the cashews were missing, I had to call back. They apologized but didn't offer a solution beyond suggesting I still try the dish. While they were friendly, it would've been nice to see a bit more accountability or an offer to make it right. Ambiance: 3/5 This is a classic takeout spot: simple, straightforward, and designed for efficiency rather than atmosphere. There's nothing fancy about it, but they're quick with orders, especially if you call ahead. For what it is, it serves its purpose well. Special Note: After checking my receipt, I noticed an automatic 10% gratuity was already added to my total which was something I didn't realize until after I had also tipped another 10% at pickup. So I ended up tipping 20%, which isn't typical for takeout. Just a heads-up for anyone ordering, double-check your receipt before adding an extra tip. Also, there were no utensils included in the bag, so make sure you grab some if you need them. Overall: Hong's Chop Suey has solid food, kind people, and quick service, just a few small misses that, with some extra care, could easily be improved. I'd return for the fried rice and broccoli any day, and hopefully next time, the cashew shrimp comes with, well... cashews.

Lunch Review! New Hong Kong offers some of the best Chinese…read morefood in the area. I loved that they offer lunch specials even on the weekends. The same dinner portion sized meal is around $12 each for lunch. The meals also come with chicken fried rice, one egg roll, one can of soda, and a fortune cookie. We ordered ahead and they said the food would be ready in 20 minutes; it was ready for pick up right at the 20 minute mark. The restaurant is carry out and delivery only so there are a few waiting chairs in the front. The Kung Pao Chicken had good heat, nice variety of vegetables, and the sides were tasty. The Orange Chicken wasn't too spicy, had crispy breading, and the sauce was delicious. I would recommend both of those dishes to try. Tip: The prices are correct on their website but not on their takeaway menus. Pro Tip: You can request what spice you'd like.

New Hong Kong actually still manages to be among the best Chinese places in town. Just have the right expectations. There's not enough room for eating in, so it's only for takeout it seems. A good place for picking up some cheap ass Chinese. It was close to where we were so it was convenient to make an order. The menu has the typical kind of stuff. It's about $10 for a lunch entree. Vegetarian menu is pretty small. Only has a few choices. Then only a few of these ones have tofu in it unfortunately. Ma Po Tofu is one of these. The recipe doesn't include pork like at many other places so it really is vegetarian. It's what we got. The tofu was firm and it had a good spice with some vegetables like broccoli and peppers. Had a pretty good experience and the woman wasn't that rude so it wasn't like as others have said when they ordered from here. It's only a place for carryout so Community Park across the street is a good place to sit and eat an order. The food may not be authentic but it's the basic strip mall stuff so whatever.
