When I got to my destination to eat my take out (about only a 5 minute ride away), I did notice that both my fish and chips were on the soggier side, perhaps of the ride home and how it was packaged. Put into a box and wrapped in paper. The haddock and chips were okay in my opinion, but they didn't give any ketchup, vinegar or condiments with my order which was a tad odd and maybe what was lacking in the meal itself. Overall, I'd suggest dining in over getting take out to keep things on the fresher, crispier side.

I got the New York steak for myself at rare doneness. For the soup that came with I upgraded mine to French Onion and my parents took the regular/daily which was also accompanied by garlic bread-ish. Additionally, I got a Long Island Iced Tea and in the process of it caught a conversation between Kitchen and Old Owner that their ice machine is broken so I have NO IDEA where the ice for my drink came from--other than that it tasted fine and the old owner personally made it. T-Bone was not up to par. It was exceedingly tough according to my dad and inconsistently cooked. It was closer to a medium well than a medium rare-medium and subsequently whether from improper prep or age of the cut, it wasn't juicy. From what I witnessed when I did look up at my dad, it was tough to cut no matter how small or large he sliced it. Certified Angus was passable. My mom didn't have many complaints nor praises so take that as you will. Could tell at a glance the vegetables were the family pack frozen ones from Costco. My New York Steak was passable-ish. The fat cap wasn't rendered down properly and the steak itself was slightly tough in certain areas. The doneness was fine at rare, but with all this in mind--if you want a consistent cook medium to well seems to be the way. My problem mainly with the food lies in seasoning and ingredient quality. The vegetables are for some reason visually and texturally rough and fuzzy? They melt in your mouth in the worst way possible. There is no crunch, not even on the carrot. It was mush, plain and simply, same with the mashed potatoes. No seasoning aside from gravy and actual mush it was melting every forkful into my mouth. No hint of garlic, butter, milk or cream--just bland potato mush with gravy. Ambiance? Nothing at all. I don't know what to describe it other than quiet and empty. There was one other table aside from ours and one take-out order. From the bits of conversation with the old owner, I gleaned that at the turnover at first, regulars were aplenty but they tapered off and dwindled as time went on and that looks to be accurate based on reviews here on Yelp and over on Google. Business has been slowing down and much of it is attributed to the declining quality both in service and food/ingredients. The new owners of the establishment bought this restaurant for the brand name but didn't upkeep the standard for food, quality, and service. There's just no business acumen from the new owners from what I can see based on reviews of this year and my experience tonight. The old owner was the saving grace for this visit on Saturday December 20th, otherwise the rating might drop to a 1 or 2 out of 5.

The soft shell crab benedict ($24) looked irresistible with two nicely poached eggs beside crab drizzled with maple buffalo hot sauce. While it came with no sides, bites of the whole fried soft shell crab on brioche toast were scrumptious. The inside of this restaurant is cavernous, featuring even a private room and patio. It's much larger than the dated plaza entrance would indicate. Staff were generally active at the tables, even delivering colour sheets to young ones. Skip it or hit it? The male server serving us was a true professional. He came and asked us numerous times if everything was ok which it was. He was always hovering around in case we needed anything which we didn't and most importantly ;) coffee was always refilled This is the optimal service you expect when dining out On to the food We tried the chicken souvlaki for the first time and it was delicious. The noise level however is HIGH. It is very difficult to have a normal level volume conversation. I found myself really having to focus when my parents were speaking. The parking is a nightmare. It's very very tight. Insufficient spaces and getting in/out is interesting but that's not the restaurant's fault- it's just the way it is.

She has excellent customer service skills and knowledge on the menu. She made suggestions on the menu such as Crabby stuffed mushrooms, margarita flights, and steak and shrimp daily special $25. We ended up ordering the Mariner seafood boil with garlic and herb sauce and the steak and shrimp special. For appetizer we tried the crabby stuffed mushrooms. All the food was scrumptious and we were given bibs and gloves to keep us from making a mess with the seafood boil. The Mariners boil is good for 2 people. Next time we will just order this and one appetizer. The restaurant is clean and staff are friendly. Recommend making a reservation if you don't want to wait.

Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food.
