When I lived on that side of town, it was a GREAT hangout spot. Nothing fancy- but when hanging around at the neighborhood bar, who's looking for "fancy" anything? Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights were always busy. I always made it a point to get there before the rush (before 9) if I wanted good service, and a bartop seat. I often ordered chicken wings (always fried perfectly), maybe a salad (their ranch dressing is delicious!!!), or a regular burger. As for drinks, I'd recommend a GRAPE APE, or slow gin fizz. Both topshelf! Both will get you right where you're likely trying to be with just one drink. Totally worth whatever they're charging for it! Oh...they also have a volleyball sandlot outside. My review is based on the food only, and it received 2 stars only because the other two dishes i received were okay. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich for delivery last night around 130 AM, as well as. A hooligan chicken sandwich for my friend, and a buffalo chicken sandwich for my girlfriend. Their food came out okay, the delivery was timely, the driver was friendly, so was the lady on the phone. However, whatever cook was working at that time on Oct 5, Tuesday evening/Wed early morning should be ashamed. There was a piece in inedible tough as leather fried chicken skin on a bun, without anything and it was cold as ice. Terrible. Picture to add. They did apologize but I didn't get to eat that evening. At Hooligans earlier this evening to order wings and take them home for the Bengals/Browns game and had an an unfortunate experience with Chris. Although we placed an order for well done wings, when the wings arrived they weren't cooked as requested. While waiting around for our server, we flagged down Chris (male server, walking around drinking a red bull) and asked if he'd have the kitchen fry our wings a bit longer because they weren't well done as requested. To our surprise, Chris's initial pleasant demeanor quickly turned to one of inconvenience. He proceeded to tell my mom and I that it'd be an inconvenience to fry the wings longer, because all of his fryers were busy??? Keep in mind, we would've ordered via delivery, but our food is rarely warm, let alone hot once delivered, so stopping into the restaurant for a beer while waiting for our to-go is our preferred and most effective way to dine at Hooligans. Needless to say, given Chris' poor demonstration of remotely caring about us as customers, we elected to leave the undercooked wings with Chris, drank and paid for our beers and left. While we really like their food, the repeated discourteous service is reason enough for us to finally call it quits. read more

I'm so disappointed. We were a party of 5 (2 small children) Waitress came quickly to our table the first time and first round came with good speed. There was only one other table occupied by 2 guests in the rest of the restaurant. 30 minutes with empty beers and cups on our table, one hour for food to arrive. 2 bowls of chili, one hamburger, one chicken fries beer basket. On top of the extreme wait, and having to deal with 2 hungry kids for an hour, the burger and bowls of chili were cold. The cheese on all 3 wouldn't even melt. We are anyways because we were dedicated and didn't have another hour to ask for them to warm up. No games were on any TVs, and everything was sticky. Chairs, table, high chair, and floor. Waitress was young and I don't blame her but it was obvious that she wasn't trained well. We'll never go back. We will never recommend. read more

My wife and I spent two weekends in town before we officially made the move to Cincinnati. While doing so, we stayed at the SpringHill Suites Midtown (see my Yelp here: http://bit.ly/3NYQO). On the first night we arrived, we tried to call Hooligans several times to order a late dinner. Every time we tried, the line was busy. Even the hotel tried for us, but also got a busy signal. We were hungry after the long drive, and the busy signal just came off as rude and flippant. Even on a busy Friday night, it doesn't make sense for a bar/pub like this to be so busy that they couldn't answer the phone. It wasn't a great intro to Cincinnati, to say the least. We ended up ordering Larosa's and had a nice warm meal delivered to our suite at the hotel within 40 minutes. read more

I play in a sand volleyball league here. I know little about the general area that Hooligan's is in, expect that it's a few turns off the highway for me. Seems residential but a bit rundown and/or abandoned. The sand court is well guarded by nets and well constructed. The experience playing has been very positive. It seems the waitresses who work the sand courts are a bit intense in getting drink orders. I know it's a bar league, but I don't drink and exercise (counter productive at best). Many who are here probably really enjoy this service and the frequent request for another drink or a refill. To each their own. I have my water bottle and am good; once I've said that, it's unlikely I'll change my mind. And...I have legs, if I need something, I'll go get it. Again, different strokes, but it bothers me. The inside (that I've only seen in passing to the kind of dirty bathroom) seems old and a bit sketchy. I don't usually have too much time to look around, and I'm not a bar person, but there's a 'get out of here quick' vibe I get when I enter. Dark, old wood, and seems like people are lurking nad/or looking around perv-ily. Anyhow...for volleyball it works. Price is ok, long season. I wouldn't come here for any other reason, however. If you like bar league volleyball or this is near you, it's worth checking out.. read more

2.5 stars. There's not much else in the area and I couldn't bring myself to settle for Wendy's, Taco Bell, or the rest of the fast food joints... so we had lunch at Hooligan's. It's your standard sports bar with a half dozen flat screens strategically placed around the main room. The staff was friendly. I had a bowl of chili and a caeasar salad - not the best indicators of a restaurant's quality, but the chili was hearty, tasty, Texas-style. The prices were reasonable, particularly for the sandwiches. I'd go if I was in the neighborhood and extremely hungry. Otherwise, you'd be better off meandering down to Oakley or up to Kenwood. read more

Staying at the Springhill Suites. Front Desk Staff said they are worth a try. Called last night - ordered the sampler with spicy garlic wings, potato skins, ribs, & fried cheese. The ribs were ok. Not bad for Cincinnati. I'm from Kansas City so of course they wouldn't come close. The spicy garlic wings were really good. I was a bit upset that I only had 3. The fried cheese & potato skins were average. I am ordering again tonight. I'm gonna try the Banana Peppers and more spicy garlic wings. I'm a bit disappointed because it's been a hour and they aren't here yet. When I called the lady told me that it wouldn't take long because they had 2 drivers and only one order. :( read more

Absolutely horrible service. Took 30 mins to get 3 bud lights and 2 margs. Food took an hour and a half. And that's being generous. On Monday. At 630. With maybe 15 people in the whole place. And DO NOT get the turkey burger. It is horrible. One McDouble will taste better and fill you up more. I will never come again unless it's for volleyball. Good food but bad delivery. I work close by the pub. I called in two hours prior for a timed delivery and they still didn't make it on time. When I called in, I was told the delivery driver should be 10-15 minutes with my food. I called my order in early for a reason. My job only allows me 30 minutes for lunch. This is not the first time that there has been an issue with the delivery. Several other coworkers have had trouble getting their food on time. I would recommend someone to pick their food up or eat inside because waiting for Hooligans to delivery will kill your appetite. read more

If you didn't know this place was here, you wouldn't find it. It's attached to a Day's Inn on Highland, and the only signage is on the building itself, not visible from the road. It's surprisingly large inside, with a large bar to one side and 100+ seats in the dining area. The menu is quite large for such a place, but I wouldn't order anything very fancy as you're bound to be disappointed. Stick with the bar food items, which are reasonably priced and decent enough. Beer selection is okay, wine not so much. read more

Staying at the Springhill Suites in Cinci. Just had delivery. Found a very large dead bug in my salad. Think I want to die now! Usually good food, but I don't know if I can eat there again. Usually like their Omelettes. They are HUGE. A little greasy, but overall good. I also like their vegetable soup and I liked the grilled chicken salad before I found the bug! I think I've also had the turkey burger and vaguely remember that it was good. I hope I can make myself forget the added salad crouton. We shall see. read more

You already know what it is. This is a neighborhood bar food and drinking spot that lives up to all your fried, cheese covered, sauced, and double-poured expectations. This place is not fancy, it's not supposed to be. There are TVs on every surface and lottery games that you can play without leaving your seat (Who knew?!). I have had on different occasions their nachos, parmesan garlic wings, burger, sweet potato fries, and tater tots. Everything was excellent and cooked to my specifications. You can get your wings battered or naked before the sauce goes on. You can get your sauce on the side. You can add cheese to anything and no one will bat an eye. This is that place. It's chill, welcoming, and delicious. The drink specials are comparable to college dive bar prices, my kind of place! read more

Best pizzas for the money, hands down. My personal favorite is the chicken bacon ranch with hot sauce added. Even the plain pepperoni pizza is good. After you spend $15ish for a large pie, chance are, you'll take some home. Hooligans has gotten worst in the past 6 months. The food is not up to par. Its often cold and just thrown together and when we order for delivery the service is poor and when we receive our food it's cold and not tasty at all. When we use to order it was always over $50 in orders. read more

Though the bar gives off a sketchy vibe the patrons all kept to themselves and the staff were all kind and friendly. I have had the fried chicken salad several times and its soooo good. Huge portion of fried chicken, and the best ranch. The food is ok at best. Nothing special, just a bunch of bar food. What gets me and my friends their is playing volleyball leagues they have there. It is a sand league, they have multiple times a week. A lot of volleyball regulars (ones I see playing with me in leagues throughout Cincinnati) play there. It is not a super competitive leagues but they are a lot of fun and still have good rallies. So if you like playing volleyball this might be a place to check out. Not so much for the food but they do make some decent drinks. read more

Ok, so the service here was great...and I found the people-watching fun. But the menu is just bizarre. You can order anything from catfish to spagetti to stuffed banana peppers (their signature app). I ordered the banana peppers and they were covered in grease and gross. As my meal, I ordered fish and chips because that's pretty hard to screw up....but they did just that. The service was horrible, order was wrong. Upon delivery I had to refuse to pay for items they forgot because they still wanted to charge me for them. Patty the server was very rude, she said it was because she worked 12 hours. Later she cussed me calling me an "f"ing liar because she wrote my order wrong over the phone. Hooligan's is, without a doubt, some of the best bar food I've had. Huge selection, from ribs, to salads, to sandwiches, to breakfast. Great homemade desserts too. The cocktails are strong and cheap. There is something for everyone. A couple pool tables in the bar area, shuffle board, outdoor sand volleyball with leagues, Sunday Ticket, etc. This is a great neighborhood bar. I placed an order for delivery on 12/7/18 at 12:30am. The delivery was said to arrive one hour later, but ended up arriving two hours late! The delivery driver called my phone and said he was outside. I went to the door turned the porch light on and saw him pull up. He didn't not get out of the car! I even flashed the light off and on A few times. He called my phone again and said to me, "if you want this food you better come across the street to my car." I asked him to bring the food to the porch like a normal delivery person would and he pulled off! I paid with a credit card! I called the store and found out the the driver told the manager that I asked him to come inside and that I lived in an alley. The managers sided with the driver and my pregnant wife and I were left with out food and a full refund for the order! This was a very bad experience and we order from you guys all of the time. I've been here several times but my service tonight was horrible! It was late and I wanted some wings, so we came here because the kitchen stays open late. We sit at the bar, order our food and WAIT. I was talking and enjoying my company so I didn't realize how long of a wait it actually was. At one point we were going to just leave. We weren't waited on for drinks. REALLY!? I thought this was a bar. The wings came out on one plate without small eating plates. The bartender went to go get plates and never returned! REALLY!? She didn't even notice that we were without drinks, so we just asked the other non-attentive bartender for water. We ate our room temperature wings, paid the check (then she realized she forgot the plates) and ran for the door. I know this place is your "laid back" type of neighborhood bar but I was not expecting this. Co-workers and I have even ordered food from here and had it delivered late without a problem. we never had never had any food from Hooligans before that is until today, We had gotten a flyer in the mail from them saying they delivered and we figured we give it a go. we each got the deluxe cheese burger , one side of batter fried mushrooms and one side of wedge fries . It took them an hour to get us our food and by the time we got it , it was cold and just icky ...the burgers was greasy and had no taste could not even finished it, the mushrooms was mush and wet so was the wedge fries. again this was our first time and it will also be our last....
