I just stopped by Hooper's and was lucky enough to work with JT. My car was telling me that my tire pressure was 23 when it's supposed to be 44/45. You can only imagine my fear of getting a flat tire when I still have to drive 30 minutes to get home. JT made himself available to check my tire. Turns out it was fine. The reader or sensor in my car must be off but he was able to look at my tire to see if there was damage and in this case, give me the peace of mind to drive home safely. I can't think JT enough. He was kind, knowledgeable and very efficient. They will be starting a room service in the near future, and I will be definitely looking for opportunities to work with him in the future. Do Not Waist Your Time. My husband came here for a tire fir his SUV they charged him 60.00 and when he took the SUV to get an alignment the expert mechanic told my husband he needed a tire. My husband explained he literally just left Hoopers Tire Outlet on Alexander St and he was charged 60.00 for that tire. The expert mechanic told my husband he got beat, he said that the tire they sold him was garbage and should've been thrown out. My husband ended up purchasing a tire from Dunn Tires and returned the tire to Hoopers who gave him his money back. A Waist of Money & Time going here! read more

Needed tires and paying 650 to 800 for (4) tires from most of the places that sell tires is a tough swallow. Went to Hoopers, got (4) used matched tires and plenty of life still left in them for 200 with install was a much better deal, got in quick and they got me out quick and I couldn't be happier. Used to be a big fan of this place, they've done quite a bit of work for me but this most recent time they trashed the finish on my wheel. It'll cost me 4x what I paid for a mount and balance to repair it. Simple lesson - take a before picture of your wheels before having them work on it. If you have wheels that are beat up and you don't really care about a few more nicks, this place is perfectly fine but if you are like me and try to keep your stuff mint, be careful. read more

Got some pretty good used tires for a good price but was quoted one price with tax on the phone then was charged 10 dollars more for disposal of tires when I remember the guy saying tire disposal was one of the things he mentioned in getting me to the price quoted. 10 bucks isn't a big deal, just feel slightly duped for a few more bucks. I came here to get winter wheels put on. I have aftermarket rims and my lug nuts require a special tool which they broke, and damaged my remaining lug nuts in order to remove. After asking for some sort of compensation, I was told there's nothing they could've done and that they're not liable for replacing my damaged property. Complete lack of accountability... When I hit a pothole and blew out two of my tires, these guys really helped me out! They were 100% honest, explaining that the blown tire wasn't destroyed. They fixed the bent rim and aligned everything. I really appreciate the clarity and honesty in a garage. They also mentioned that the other tires were worn and dangerous in the winter. He showed me where the tread was thin and I wholeheartedly agreed. Thanks to this garage, I'll have a safe time driving in the snow. Just to be clear, I'm being generous rating these guys 2 stars. They really need to work on their Syracuse location for future customers. The good: Installation time The bad: Wheels were not balanced right...what do you expect from a cheap used tire shop?? Service was not so friendly, felt like I was NOT welcomed there. I would have walked right out if I was not in a rush to get tires. The ugly: Used tires, especially in the syr. location, were crap. They are at their bare minimum to pass inspection. No wonder why they're asking so little. Overall, if you are desperate for cheap tires these guys are OK. There are better stores out there that won't treat you like a piece of ****. It may cost abit more, but it sure is worth it. I found these guys through their Craigslist ad, which states they sell "quality" tires that have been "tested" by "state of the art technology". Looks like these guys just picked up the used tires in bulk and fished out the decent ones that hold air. The tires these guys have in stock are crap. Unless you consider dry cracking, camber wear, uneven tread wear, and 4+ yr old tires "quality", they will disappoint. I will never buy from Hoopers Tire Outlet ever again, nor will I recommend others to purchase from Hoopers. read more

I originally took my flat to 2 major tire retailers in the area (Walmart and Goodyear) both locations told me I couldn't plug my tire. My only option was to buy a new one and due to the fact this was an unpopular size, it would be $110.00 minimum plus fees and labor, to replace my already brand new tire with a nail in it. I was livid!! I started looking for a used option and based on a friends referral, I went to Hooper Tires for the first time today. WOW! the service was phenomenal! They had great Customer Service and were very friendly. I spoke to a woman that worked there that was VERY knowledgeable. I don't know anything about tires and she answered all my questions (and then some) and made me feel comfortable. (Sorry! I didn't get her name) But Thank You!!!! They said they could patch my tire for as little as $15. I was so impressed with this service I called home and had my other car brought right over to look at my tires. My tires were so bald the female employee saw them in the parking lot and was genuinely concerned that I knew it was time to replace them and she talked me into 2 replacement front tires. I met the mechanic that did my tires and WOW He was AMAZING!!! His name was Garrett. He picked a beautiful pair of tires for me and installed them in less than 15 minutes. He was SO friendly, professional and courteous. I will tell all of my friends what a GREAT experience I had. I am so thankful for his honesty and information. You NOW have a customer for life!!! I will definitely be back in a few weeks for 2 more on the back. read more
