Poor customer service at the Pittsford, NY location. I had confirmed appointment and when I arrived was told "you are not in the computer". The desk person asked for and I showed him the confirmation. He then went back to an office and came out with I assume to be the store manager who told me I could leave the car all day (impossible) or rebook for next week. No effort to look at their schedule to try and fix their error. They were perfectly happy making their problem my problem. Not the first time I've had customer service problems at this location. Went to Dunn Tire, Pittsford. Spoke face to face with them. Was quoted a specific price for an alignment and to mount and balance my winter tires. I confirmed the prices and booked an appointment. Simple, right??? When I came to the appointment ,Dunn Tire, the 'Manager', told me the seasonal tire changeover would be $40 MORE than the quoted price! 50% more than the quoted rate. At first I had gone to Mavis discount tire. I wanted new tires for my jeep patriot and I had specific ones in mind, they claimed online said they had everything but the guy said it didn't mean that they actually had anything at the store. He told me to come back in two days and he would have another tire for me that's similar. But he never did. I went back and he said come back Tuesday or they could put these Mavis brand tires on my car. I got frustrated and left to go to Dunn Tire. Mavis tried selling me $89 tires when my first tire I had picked out was $140 a tire. Clearly trying to give away tires no one wanted. At Dunn, I was greeted with two very nice people. I told them about Mavis and they helped me out. They had tires that fit, meanwhile Mavis was trying to give me the wrong size tire. Dunn had great recommendations and I trusted them picking out the tire. Dunn got me in that very moment and changed my tires within 40 minutes! I had wasted days at Mavis but at Dunn left with ease! So the staff here is super nice. They tend to be pretty quick when working on a car if you are waiting. Their lifetime policy for rotations, alignments & a few other things is great. The reason why I give this place 4 stars is the place is really dirty inside. This was even like this pre-COVID. Very dusty, dirty. The floors are gross, their coffee area I definitely would not go near. I understand it's a tire place but your customers still have to sit & wait there. I have been using Dunn Tire for YEARS whenever I need a tire replacement. I've been to locations in Buffalo, Brockport, and now Pittsford. They have always been professional and friendly, and have the best prices around. They also stand behind their work, which is incredibly important! This time around I ended up at Dunn Tire because I noticed my back left tire was looking a little deflated. (Okay, a LOT deflated!) Turns out we had a giant nail in there. I had tried a couple of places that were a little bit closer to see if it could be patched - the consensus was no. So I started hunting around for tire replacement prices. Most wanted $50+ more, and not all offered a guarantee on their work. And the ones that did offer the guarantee charged extra for it. So I took the 35ish minute drive to Dunn Tire. I was not disappointed! The Pittsford location has a pretty nice open waiting room area, with tables and chairs in two spots, and a television. It was a beautiful day so we took a walk while we waited (about 45 minutes in all) and scoped out all of the fun things that were nearby. You can cross the street and check out The Cheesecake Factory, stop at multiple places for pizza, browse books at Barnes & Noble, or check out the Hobby Toys store. There is also a Trader Joe's and a Wegmans. The list goes on! I will update if anything changes as we drive, but so far I would highly recommend! Today I slid into a snow bank! 2 weeks ago the dealer checked my tires which were fine today I can see front are bald! I actually slid all weekend in the snowpocalse! We called Dunn at 12 and they had space for us at 3! I am sitting here now getting winter tires. They are storing my two good tires and will store my winters come April! Dunn Tire does it again! Their customer service is truly what keeps bringing me back. I bought a new set of tires earlier this year (after 4 years with the old ones). They didn't have the ones I needed/wanted in stock, but were able to order them quickly and set up an appointment to put them on the following day. It was such a smooth process working with them. Then, this week I ran over something (ended up being a screw) that put a hole in my tire. When I noticed it was running flat, I called to set up an appointment for the next morning to get it fixed. I should mention that tire rotations (recommended every 5000 miles) and flat fixes are free if your tires were purchased through them! I hadn't even considered this when I made the appointment, only initially thinking to call them because they had been so great to work with in the past, and then realized the repair service was free. The service took under an hour to repair the tire and do the rotation. They have a lifetime customer out of me and I couldn't recommend their services more. read more

I will never shop for tires @ dunn again. After purchasing tires the manager "Mark" was what I can only say an a@@! After dropping off my old tires BAGGED. I requested they be double bagged for storage. He proceeded to put them in my vehicles back seat without bags scuffing the cloth. I went in with a printed quote from Amazon. I was told Amazon doesn't mount and balance tires and the price wasn't fair. I explained they send the tires to the "BOYS" that mount, balance and install the tires. The Dunn Tire salesman told me he couldn't compete because of the Dunn Tire checklist. Those are a list of "features" Dunn includes with their tires. I will admit those "benefits" don't suck.... but most are included with big tire shops. I went to the Firestone store down the street and I was actually helped. He said I'm about $2 more per tire but I would appreciate your business. He ordered the tires... I have an appointment on April 5th. Keep in mind the difference was ONLY $18 per tire. Dunn Tire let me walk out the door. My point is shop around.... that 200% guarantee is not real. UPDATE I contacted the customer service department as instructed on their reply. I was emailed back and was instructed that I should have been offered a competitive price by the counter person. To be fair, they would have gotten a five star review based on my two previous tire purchases. This time, they sent me out the door with the right-side tires covered in a white paint-like substance. I didn't see it for a week because it was only on the passenger side tires. Not acceptable. Whoever installed those tires knew they were an unsightly mess. Bad job and poor supervision. I shouldn't have to scrub my new tires twice and get the car washed so they look like clean blackwall tires. read more

I went to their website to get a price on tires. I was provided with an attractive "OUT THE DOOR" price. Then I clicked on "Buy Now" and was taken to a screen with a higher price. I called and spoke to Roz who couldn't explain the discrepancy. She put me on with the lady (Linda?) who handles their pricing and it turns out that the "out the door" price does not include sales tax nor the tire tax. Huh? So why is it referred to as the "OUT THE DOOR" price? She told me that this is consistent with what their competitors do. Hmmmm. So the bait & switch OUT THE DOOR price includes the discounts and rebates but not the taxes. That's odd. Please explain to me how I would get OUT THE DOOR without paying the additional $53 in tax (conveniently omitted from the "OUT THE DOOR" pricing). I must say that when I am given a quote at Costco, that price includes ALL the charges -- including the sales and tire taxes. And guess what-- that's what Costco calls their "out the door" price. read more

I ran over some kind of sharp object the other day. Developed a slow leak in my car. I called ahead and was told to come on over and they would try to get me out as fast as they can. They didn't lie!! I was out and on my way in about 40 minutes. Not bad Dunn! Thank you !!! read more

You can read tire reviews online at TireRack, but it works out better for sales, installation, and service to come here. This location in Pittsford is lower volume and seems run really well IMO, so you'll have a better overall experience than at other DT locations. Incredible service! Scheduled my appointment during a very busy time after the first snowstorm of the season (and also after the Bills won and Dunn Tire was giving everyone 10% off!). Scheduled appointment on a Monday, tires were shipped from warehouse in Buffalo Tuesday morning and car was done Tuesday evening- just in time for a 5 hour drive to see relatives for Thanksgiving! Also, I had dinner plans in the evening and wasn't around to pick up the car. Dunn Tire was very accommodating by letting me pay over the phone and they left my keys in a secure location so I could retrieve my car after hours. Great customer service! I needed to schedule some work and requested an estimate via the web which was provided quickly. Within 10-30 minutes I received a call from Dunn asking if I'd received the quote. Said I did, and the price looked good. The individual went onto explain they have a club that offers discounts on services and you can save money through that. I never said great sign me up. They never said anything about a cost. I never provided my credit car number, or authorized any one to charge my credit card. Next cc statement I see a charge from Dunn to join some club. It gets better. I text Dunn (there is no number to call for corporate) and explain the situation. Their response, have your Credit Card Company resolve it. Really... how about you stop deceptive practices.. For me historically Empire Blvd store has provided good service. I bought four new Continental tires here about two weeks ago. The tires are great, their service was great, and I am satisfied with my purchase. However, their "200% price guarantee" is pure marketing B.S. which they should either honor or get rid of. The day after I bought my tires I found them at Walmart for $9.00 less (each tire). I went back to the shop and spoke to the manager. Nope, couldn't do anything because "it was not the same."???? Ok, then I knew it was marketing B.S. I asked the manager for someone I could speak to in headquarters. He gave me an email address. I emailed them but never got a reply. Today when I heard the Dunn commercial on the radio stating that Dunn will refund 200% of the price difference if you find "the same tires for less", I was prompted to write this review. read more

Good products, fair prices and the work on our cars has been fine. However, even though we are a repeat customer, the front desk treats us like a new customer when we contact them (they often seem not to know the service history on our cars). Recently we ordered a new set of tires from this shop, and after we arrived we were told that they only had 3 of this tire model in stock, so we had to go to their Webster location. Also they left a grease stain on the interior of my car when they affixed a new inspection sticker. Overall, I'd recommend them but there's room for improvement. read more

I own a set of snow tires on rims that I wanted put on for the winter--usually a super easy thing that doesn't take long. I dropped my car off and the tires were swapped out when I came back about an hour later. I noticed right away that one of them was visibly deflated. When I went inside to pay, etc., I asked them if they check tire pressure when they put the tires on. I was told that they can check them for me if I want, but I guess I assumed that would be a standard thing they'd check (it's a safety hazard!). They were very nice about it and told me to just pull my car around after paying. As I was getting the air pressure checked, the tech (apparently the one who put the tires on my car) told me that it's standard procedure to put the tires with less tread on the front. This makes absolutely no sense because my car is a FWD vehicle. At that point, I just decided to take them somewhere else to get rotated. Overall I was unimpressed. read more
