I even heard a customer tell the sales person that they had a pair of shoes for sale for $40 that are worth $100 on the resale market and the store could increase the price. The sales person said people get some really great deals at their store and they won't raise the price. That was awesome. I was hesitant posting this as we have gotten very good stuff from this store and have been going for several years. Recently there has been an uptake in issues with toys we've bought. I'm giving them a 3 star review because they did offer refunds for each issue and apologies, and acknowledge we make mistakes, I am just bothered it's repeated and over the course of a couple of years. We haven't had issues with clothes or shoes but specifically with either toys missing entire pieces repeatedly or broken toys. First it was a build a bear wheelchair that was clearly taped together then broke same day we bought it. Then it was a pink baby stroller that had a gem over a missing screw so it never worked right. Then it was a wooden toy set that had broken pieces and then missing pieces. And recently we bought a train set that didn't even have the correct train pieces in it. They offered refunds for all and apologies so I do want to make that known, I feel as though if you know this is an issue, this shouldn't keep happening. My child gets her hopes up every time to then have to take it away from her. We were able to give away the train set and decided to not take the refund as my partner felt uncomfortable going back in. Saying you're human and we make mistakes is true, yet the issue needs to stop happening. Attacking people for leaving honest reviews isn't professional and I see a lot of that in the owners response. Yes it can be nice if they contact you first but it's not required. Your apologies doesn't negate the experience especially if it's a repeated experience. If you shop here, please make sure you count, check and quality check the toys you are getting. Luckily we live very very close and hasn't been a huge inconvenience but it could be for a family that's visiting out of town or doesn't live close. I do want to add something since the owner responded and I feel as though it should be said, if you're putting the blame on your staff consistently, then maybe the staff needs to change because these mistakes are costing customers and ultimately money for the business. My go to resale shop. I've been consigning and purchasing at Hoot-N-Annie for 5 years now. I began at Hoot-N-Annie after negative experiences with another kids re-sale shop in the area. Hoot-N-Annie is VERY particular about what they take in to consign... but this means what they sell is quality, and they are responsible in taking care of your items. The shop owner Tina, and the sales associates are pleasant and happy to help. I just gave birth to my first child. While I love buying cute baby clothes for her, I recognize that she will outgrow them rapidly, so I looked into consignment options. And given the COVID climate, I was specifically looking at online options that minimized the need to browse inside a physical shop. Luckily, Hoot-N-Annie was able to go online just in the nick of time, and I discovered this local gem! Hoot-N-Annie has so many cute, high-quality lightly used/consignment baby clothes (among other kids/maternity/assorted items) at reasonable prices. The online shop is easy to navigate. You would never guess this place was resale consignment from the looks of it! It's so clean and cute. The gal working was very friendly. The prices are also great. Check the front register to see what color tag is 30% off for the month. They have all the clothes sorted by age and gender. There are also lots of shoes, accessories, and toys. In the back right corner there's a little kitchen and doll house area for kids to hang out in while you do your shopping. Our baby had a fun time crawling/half walking through the store putting his little paws on all the new toys and gadgets. I am expecting my first child and didn't realize most maternity wear is online and the stuff that is actually in stores you can't try on due to COVID. I went into Hoot N Annie just expecting to browse and walked out with several pieces that will be with me throughout my pregnancy, AND I got to try them on!! It was fantastic. The woman working the counter was incredibly helpful and made the experience for me. I will absolutely be back, especially once I need to buy clothes for my child. I have been consigning here for the past 4 years. Recently I had a very disappointing interaction with Stacey at the Hillsdale location. I called one afternoon to inquire about consignment times. I was coming from across town to drop some items off that day. She was cold and very short with me on the phone. Due to traffic I hurried in 4 mins past the drop off window. She barely looked up from her steaming and informed me that they would not take my items. I explained that I had just spoken to her on the phone and traveled from across town after work. I was hoping I could just drop my two bags to be inspected at their next convenience (didn't even have to be today- I could pick up unwanted items tomorrow.) She turned me away. No sorry for your trouble, or unfortunately our acceptance window is extremely strict- nothing. Not to mention that she didn't say anything of the like on the phone earlier. I have never experienced such terrible customer service. I am so bummed! read more

This store is awesome! The owner and staff are so friendly and helpful. I've found many nice clothing items, books, and even a Bob stroller. While they don't always have what I'm looking for, they have a waitlist for items and will call you if what you're looking for comes in. I truly feel like I could not live without Hoot-n-Annie's! Granted, I am totally comfortable with used/second-hand - but most of their consignment items are in great shape, so you can't even tell! And, you save SO much. I just don't get people who buy everything new (especially clothing). I got hooked on Hoot-n-Annie's while I was still pregnant, and got some great maternity clothes there as I started shopping for my son. They also have adorable clothes, shoes, outerwear, toys, and other gear. I made a call before driving in to see if they took a few things I was hoping to consign and the person I spoke with on the phone was so pleasant. Parking was easy, parked right in front and when I walked in I was very pleasantly greeted and I wish I got the employees name but I'm very forgetful, sorry, she was amazing. Very friendly. Very helpful. We left some items to consign and we even purchased a few items. Cutest hair clips and we got some shoes for our little one. This place is very clean, friendly just all over amazing. Love this little shop! I was referred ages ago by a friend and I started following them on facebook. My son is 3 months old and I finally had a chance to visit during one of their flash sales! The shop owner (I'm so sorry but I didn't catch your name!) was incredibly sweet and very welcoming! The selection was HUGE and all very cute, high quality items. We ended up walking out with a bag full of clothes and all for under $30! Love this store! The lovely ladies that own/run it always remember me and my boys. They are super friendly and helpful. I always enjoy browsing the shop for next size up clothes and shoes and checking for great new toy and gear finds. I love to dig through the dollar bins and make a point to attend their special events when I can. They also give me more store credit for my used clothing than anywhere else I have taken items. My wife and I have been to a heap of baby supply stores in the past few weeks, and were so pleased to come across this gem! My nose isn't very sensitive, but my wife said it didn't smell, as all other stores had. The owner said they specifically made a point to not use the scents to cover up things, and to carry clean things. I'd agree. She was exceptionally helpful with my first time pregnant wife's questions, was very relaxed and had a good sense of humor. We found a lot of great gear for highly reasonable prices. They bought this business 4 months ago, and from what she described, have made it much different than it was in the past. She's a mom of 4, and so had a lot of useful insight into the gear. The store is very small, but neat, and the employee working there was very friendly with my toddler daughter. They have a nice selection of baby and toddler clothes, but a pretty limited selection of gear and toys. They also have a couple of racks of maternity clothes, mainly from the major brands like Motherhood Maternity, but everything on those racks looked very worn and stretched out. Besides stretchy tee shirt type things, pretty slim pickings. The biggest downside--- the prices. You can get cheaper maternity shirts for new at Target and other stores, and the toddler/kids clothes are too high. I can get the same Hannah Andersson stuff at Baby to Baby for much cheaper. The lady (who I think was the owner based on a conversation she was having with other customers) was extremely nice and helpful. I probably didn't see the owner that yelpers said about helpful and kind. The woman behind counter was not anything close to that. No greeting no smile no help. They also do not take all seasons items like a reviewer mentioed. Store is super packed. Way TOO many stuff. Maybe store is too small. With only 4 customers at the same time it was very hard to walk around and find any gem. Perhaps there's not. Cloths are not up to my standard. Condition is not good as well. Found none of sport related items for spring season. Very few toys around. May be better than consignment stores in the area but not worth my drive. read more

This is a nice place for used baby gear. Some of the items look to be gently used, some seemed to be more heavily used. Prices are reasonable. The lady at the front was extremely nice.
