My favorite spot to shop for adorable high quality items at a great price! Forget going to Nordstrom Kids and all the other fancy boutiques!

Of the consignment stores I've visited this is the only place where I have bought anything!

Fortunately, places like Pinwheels help take the edge off of clothing and entertaining the little guy! Clothing, shoes, accessories, toys, books, games, strollers, swings: it's all here! And it's all a bargain! Lightly used? Just about everything seems about as close to brand new as possible; *I'd* certainly never know the difference. There's even a "diaper depot" (as I like to call it anyway): a drop box where you can donate extra diapers you no longer need, so that others less fortunate can take them for free; a heartwarming touch that immediately endeared me to this place. The owner is a vibrant, wonderful woman who immediately engaged us upon entering, and make the whole experience a true pleasure. And she has an eye for style, quality, and most important in a resale shop: cleanliness! We bought a pair of shoes and a few toys this time around, but I foresee many return visits to Pinwheels, and not just to re-sell the clothes my son outgrows. I'd rather shop here for his needs than any big box store in the Portland area.

I always have one caveat for consignment stores: must have friendly and helpful staff - after all, you Are asking people to buy (mostly) secondhand/used items. I popped in here 15 min before closing on a weekday and half expected the employees to grumble at me while they were trying to close the store. I found quite a number of items that I thought were "steals" for my kiddos. I would've loved more clothing options for my little ones, esp baby boys, but hey, we can't have it all. I would def recommend coming here.

In addition to clothes, they have books, toys, shoes, and even some movie DVDs. The tiny store is well organized. They are picky with what they accept, which is why buyers may be happier and give higher ratings than those looking to consign.

Recently, the customer experience has shifted in a way that feels noticeably less accommodating and more rigid. On one visit, I arrived just a few minutes past the posted consignment drop-off time--with a large bag of items--and was turned away without any flexibility. As a mom juggling kids and schedules, that kind of all-or-nothing response felt unnecessarily inflexible and not very aligned with the realities of the customers they serve. There was also a separate incident involving an item that was handled in a way that felt lacking in communication and follow-through, which added to the overall frustration. As someone who works in sales and customer service, I fully understand the importance of policies--but also the importance of discretion, tone, and making customers feel valued. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my recent experience. I hope there's a return to the more customer-focused experience this store used to provide.

My labors were very different from each other. My first came quick and surprised us all. My second took quite a bit more work. They were prepared for everything and helped my babies be born naturally both times. With my second baby, Sarah was with me through the long night helping me try different positions to help my baby along naturally. When I think about all of the different techniques she knew and had me try, I cannot help but use the word EXPERT!  I love the Hearth and Home model of care. Because of the relationships we built there was an extreme level of trust during my labor that I cannot describe. The night was emotionally draining and at one point I just sat with Sarah and cried and she held my hands and reassured me in the most encouraging way.  They are insanely knowledgeable, extremely compassionate, and really fun to be around! You will not regret being in their care.

They all exude deep knowledge, passion and care for the work they do, and we loved the chance to learn about pregnancy and birth from them (their online childbirth education class and podcast are well worth the extra investment & time!). We ended up transferring to the hospital after a very long early labor, and we felt guided and supported each step of the way as our birth plans changed. Sarah remained incredibly present for us in this process which was invaluable to us feeling ready to meet each challenge that arose. The postpartum in-home care from all three midwives was a beautiful experience! Those early days are now a blur but I'll never forget the comfort we felt each time our midwives walked in our door to bring their thorough, attentive and loving care straight to our home.
