3rd time visiting this location. First time my bf and I sat at a table and service,food, ambience absolutely great. Second visit bf and I sat at the bar. Worst service ever. Bartender was overwhelmed by how busy the location was. Third visit again we sat at the bar. This Friday evening was not nearly as busy yet my food came out 45 min after I ordered and the bartender stated kitchen lost my ticket order. Minus one star for the fact that 15 minutes after my consuming my buffalo chicken salad I immediately had to use the restroom in the worst way ever. We've come here several times, and overall, its a good spot. It is very nice inside and there are a TON of TVs. Staff was always great about getting the certain game on for us. I did notice 2-3 times when we went to the bar, we got ignored way too long when trying to get a drink. When we got a table, we had good service every time from the waitresses. I didn't really like the smoked wings so much, but their fried chicken sandwich with wing sauce is really tasty and big. I love their fries. philly cheesesteak is pretty good here too. Stop for lunch on a Sunday and was told there was a wait because they were short cooks, mind you they just sat a party a few seconds before us. The place was not full, plenty of open tables. I ate here within the past week because I just moved to San Marcos and my server Kayla was extremely friendly and was on top of her game. She was outgoing and nice to me and my boyfriend and all around was a great server. The Taco Salad was great but I recommend their wings. My boyfriend and I loved them. read more

The girls are beautiful and their makeup is flawless, but there's much to be desired in service. We arrived and were told there would be a 15 to 20 minute wait for a party of 5. There were several tables open, and a few dirty so we weren't sure why there was a wait. Once we were seated, it took the waitress several minutes to come by and get our order. Apparently there was a large group watching a football game and she kept blaming them for keeping her from our table. Our food took forever, and so did my husband's beer. Went to this establishment with family to watch a game. We were greeted by a waitress who told us her shift was almost over so halfway through taking our drink order, she asked that my dad write down what he wanted on his napkin & that our new waitress would be there shortly. The new waitress comes over later to confirm our drinks & of course had no idea of my dads pint of beer. We saw as the bartender poured the beer (a glass larger than a pint) and set it on the counter to be run out, but our waitress was nowhere to be found. There were however, about 6 other waitresses standing around the bar area and not one could be bothered to bring the beer. We flagged a passing waitress and asked if we could have our beer only for another waitress hanging around the bar to turn around and rudely tell us they didn't have any oysters?? Our waitress finally brings our beer out and we mention to her that we had ordered the pint so she asks if we want it still. We tell her we don't want to pay for a larger one as we only asked for a pint so they take the glass back & dump the beer. We're then told the keg is tapped & we'll need to order something different. As if this wasn't enough, our food gets delivered and they're quick to drop off silently and leave quickly. It took about 5mins for the waitress to come back out and notice that one of our dishes is missing and says the kitchen must've lost my food. The manager did come out to speak to our table, apologized, and offered a gift card, but it won't be this location we ever come back to. Would've given 0 stars if I could. read more

Arghhhhh..., and I'm so freaking hungry right now, I could just headbutt the fecal matter out of their order taker, kick the gonads out of the cook and tombstone the owner in person!!!! So, after I call in the order, give it the non-discounted double/triple check. Drive 7 miles to wait 30mins for food that should've been ready b/c I waited 20mins before I left to pick it up.... Sheesh, by time I got my bags I had to hurry back to work so I didn't check each box individually b/c I usually don't have these issues w/ them. But, when it rains it pours, huh? More like Tsunamis!!!! Cold food, wrong order's, food missing, sauce missing, not crispy as requested, quarter of the way filled queso containers!!! Seriously???? After we spend $80.00 on lunch for 3 people??? But wait, the nightmare is not over. Then...., I call them just to be put on hold for 22 minutes and 57 seconds before I can talk to someone..., Then another 13mins to wait for the manager to mosey his way to the receiver just to give me excuses over the phone?!?!?! There is a reason people choose Pluckers, even with all the Wing deals it doesn't change the trash service we just got , only drank one cup of water each the female waiting on us made US WAIT ON her to be able to start an order, mind you, it was obviously a slow day.. Better wings than pluckers but the staff is really lazy. The Daytona style wings are supposed to be extra charred on the grill and time after time of ordering them, I find that they are inconsistent. Also, the menu offers many drinks that the bartenders cannot make such as a martini. Such a simple drink, such incompetent staff. They actually TOLD me that no one there knew how to make a vodka martini. Um excuse me you have access to the internet right? It is what you can expect from a college town hooters. I also have to say that their appetizers really suck don't order the buffalo dip, it's just wing sauce and queso and chicken- bleh. The onion rings and fried pickles are okay though. Burgers are always over cooked, don't bother ordering medium. Philly sandwich is pretty good but sloppy and definitely not super fresh in regards to the meat. Basically don't go for anything but the bone-in wings and make sure to not order Daytona style unless you wanna be surprised with either an extra char or no extra char. read more

Lately some Hooters over-bread the wings, I like them breaded then rolled in sauce but too much is as bad as not at all, they did them perfect here. Second trip was a disaster, waitress forgot about us and when the food finally came out, most was cold. No towels on the bathroom and a generally bad experience. Hoping this will improve. read more

Located in the college town of San marcos there is a vibrant atmosphere when going into the Hooters in San Marcos. Plenty of tvs, huge bar, pretty girls. The place is still relatively new so all the furnishings are top notch so no problems there. Went there with friends on several occasions and have never had a problem with service. Waitresses are always friendly and on top of things. On most visits the food has been pretty lackluster. Either it comes out with too much seasoning or not enough, overcooked or just a little distasteful to the pallette. Boneless wings are tiny forcing patrons to order at least 15-20 or more just to satisfy their hunger. Sadly the last time I went my chicken sandwich was overcooked, rubbery and smelled like the chicken had just been defrosted. Couldn't finish it. The only thing that salvaged my experience this last time was the waitress Ling Ling (Cynthia). Super-friendly and got stuff done quickly. She definitely helped this not be a lower rating so give that woman a raise. Overall it's always a nice place to go enjoy sports and get a drink but food wise they need to step it up. read more

I placed a to go order and they said it would be ready in 20 minutes, I came in 25 minutes later and still had to wait on 2 burgers. After getting home both burgers did not have sauce or cheese on them and one burger did not come with any fries. Not going back to this hooters. read more

They make the worst Bloody Mary I've ever had and the Steamed Shrimp were mostly not deveined. Manager offered us upgraded bloody Mary's and ended up comping 3 bloody marys . So in the end I can't complain too much, I got 3 very mediocre drinks for free. Still won't go back though. Waitress was very nice. read more

Expect to wait whether you're dining in or picking up an order... even during slow business hours. Idk if there's a lack or urgency or waitresses seem to think they'll get a good tip for flirting, but I prefer hot, fast food with attentive waitresses. Dine-in and waited almost two hours to get our food... so decided not to dine here anymore. Placed a to-go order... ready at 6:07pm. Arrived at 6:16pm. Directed towards the bar for pickup and payment. Got food (cold food) at 6:47pm. I'll go across the street to Pluckers from now on. Also, I'm sure I'll have someone from Hooters reach out to offer coupons or gift cards, but it won't fix the issue with the lack of attention to ensure customers are receiving great customer service. (I.e. hot, fresh food in a timely manner, refills when cup is 1/2 full and prioritize your guests to get them in/out as quick as possible while providing a good experience). For example: if I'm picking up a to-go order, I'm not wanting to wait an hour to get my food... if that was the case, I'd dine in, which perhaps to get fresh, hot food that's what I should have done. ‍ anyway eat at your own risk as if you have nothing else going on or other things to do because you'll be here awhile. read more

We came to Hooters for a friends birthday. After waiting an hour to get sat. We had a party of 14. Our waitress Brittany took our orders, we waited approximately 45 minutes for 4-5 orders of fried pickles, and was still missing an order of pickles. When the entrees came out every single order was missing something. The fries that came out were warm not even hot. The wings were mildly warm. After asking four times I finally got ranch. Some of my friends did not get ranch with their wings at all. My one friend never got her food. Ashley who was in training and just bringing food to the table was very helpful in the little interaction she had with our table. It was Ashley, not our waitress Brittany who went and made sure my friend got her entree. Jackie also helped our table when she could, and she is the one who made sure we got drinks, but she was not our waitress either. I had never been to hooters, and I am not sure if I will return. I've been a waitress, and the service was beyond subpar. I do not know why I paid for my meal as it was unsatisfactory. Kudos to Ashley, and Jackie for trying to fix Brittanys mess. read more

Service is terrible. I went for the grand opening and there was a hair in my food and management did nothing. Then I came out with some friends and waited over an hour on food and was waiting on everything from the waitress. She kept forgetting about us and took 20 minutes just to get boxes! For my first time at hooters it was ok. i tried to order my food for pick up and no on answered the phone. so i walk in to place my order to see one of the girls just talking on the phone not answering the other lines. then it looks like the girls are just a bunch of kids fresh out of high school. my burger i ordered was just ok. my wings however were great. alot better than pluckers or wingstop. plus my food was hot so that was nice. i would go back for the wings again. read more

Just left this hooters. They messed up my entire order. I don't mind not getting something if I'm not paying for it but if I'm paying extra for something make sure it's right. I'm a server so I get that when it's late at night your closing down and want to get stuff done. But your not closed. Someone had to say hey Sarah you have a customer and she still kept breaking down the bar. The other girl came to me. Very friendly but quickly handed me my stuff and said have a great night and walked off. Didn't sign anything for my credit card, she just left. I was excited for hooters to get a facelift I was hoping it would come with better service too. Nope it's the same. I'll never go here again or any hooters there's no point crappy for with service to match. Pay more attention it's your job. I know this because it's mine too.
