Steak and ribs combination
John P.

I ordered the steak and ribs combination, let's start with the steak, it was cooked to order so it came out perfect, very good taste and texture. Next the ribs were delicious definitely well cooked, came off the bone tender. I know other places might cook better but these were very flavorful. And you had the option for two sides I had the steak fries and a Cesar salad both items were great. They have a variety to choose from. The service was great, the young man that took our order did a great job, was attentive on our table. The area seems to be doing some renovations but inside it was normal Texas Roadhouse interior. I recommend checking in before, it tends to be busy. Overall it's a great option.

I thought weather I wanted to post this review or not. And honestly I should have made it a bigger deal while at the restaurant but they rushed to "fix the issue" so fast it gave us no time. My wife got the critter salad and chicken was raw, I usually get my steak medium or medium rare it that's different to poultry. She had noticed the chicken was a little chewy but it wasn't till we looked down and saw the raw pieces, luckily we had not fed our baby any of the chicken. Manager said "that's honestly so embarrassing" but didn't apologize or accept blame, we were given a $10 discount and a new salad (which my wife could not eat due to loss of trust in the kitchen). $10 for getting fed raw chicken and ruining our dinner. I love Texas Roadhouse but yall tbh just go a couple miles down the road to the Kyle location or wait a couple more days for the New Braunfels one. This one really disappointed me in how the management was so poor at handling the situation, the $10 discount was honestly was slap in the face

No drink prices on the bar menu???

Excellent food here. I had the chicken fried chicken. It was nice and crispy. The steak comes with two sides, which can include even a baked potato or a salad, or probably 7-8 other sides. The manager came around asking each table how things were going. Nice. In closing: Jaylyn was an attentive and pleasant server. She is an asset to the brand!

We went on 8/26/24 around 7pm-ish This was my 1st time to a steak house because I'm a vegetarian. It was my husbands birthday & this is where he wanted to go. Our waitress was Chantal & she was soooo NICE! She made the experience easy & comfortable for me. My husband said the food was really good. He said steak yum! lol I had a salad & sweet Potatoe which was really good as well. Our waitress Chantal was AMAZING!!! Thank you, Chantal, & the entire staff! We had a great experience! **Kim & Tim - The Dynamic Duo**

Good place for dinner in San Marcos, there always a wait time for large parties, small parties get seated pretty quickly. Service is good, even when they are busy. The servers are polite. Casual place for a good meal. The portions are good, not too much, but sometimes it feels like it not enough, but every time I leave I'm full. We love the rolls. I had the portabella mushroom chicken. Wasn't in the mood for beef. The chicken was moist and the sauce was okay. I will order extra mushrooms next time. My nephew had the bacon cheese burger, I guess it was good, cause I look over at this plate, and it was gone. He must have been hungry or it was a good burger. Maria hade the steak and sweet potato, she really enjoys coming here for the steaks.

Butter noodles up charged as macaroni and cheese.

My husband and I are visiting from out of town for the holiday weekend. This was my first visit to Texas Roadhouse and it is my husband's birthday weekend. I told both the hostess and the bartender (we ended up sitting at the bar to forgo waiting for a table) that it was my husbands birthday. We had drinks, dinner and we only ordered dessert thinking something special was going to happen. Nothing. After paying the bill I asked the bartender "you don't do anything special for birthdays?" After watching and joining the celebration for SIX birthdays in the restaurant during our meal....she looked me in the eye and said "not really". I specifically chose this restaurant for my husbands birthday dinner because I know they make a to-do for birthdays. I'm hurt, my husband is hurt and I feel disgusted that I was lied to. Side note: Do not...l repeat do NOT pay extra for the macaroni and cheese. They are butter noodles. Absolutely no cheese. We felt ripped off. Country fried steak and rattlesnake bites are well worth it.

The food is good. Prices are fair. Service varies from visit to visit. Management is severely lacking customer service skills.

Although Kissing Tree…read moreis a 55+ community, the restaurant itself is open to all -- and thank goodness, because the food and service are simply too good to keep behind any gate. The kitchen consistently turns out high‑quality dishes made with fresh ingredients, and you can taste the care in every bite. The chef has clearly built a knowledgeable, confident staff who deliver a smooth, top‑tier dining experience from start to finish. I've eaten here many times, and nothing anywhere has matched their "Par 3" plate -- chicken salad, tuna salad, and egg salad served on crisp lettuce. Simple, fresh, and absolutely unmatched. The staff is always pleasant, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. They're not afraid to tell you what they personally enjoy, which makes the whole experience feel warm and authentic. San Marcos is incredibly fortunate to have Tarbox & Brown. In the two years I've been a regular, they've only continued to raise the bar -- and that says everything.

You'll experience the inviting ambience we've enjoyed the minute you step along the courtyard then encounter welcoming and accommodating hostesses. You'll discover the same unique, rich, warm interior we discovered; an elegance to be appreciated, which bows to unpretentious Texas hospitality. You'll again be greeted by a helpful, charming, engaging waitperson. Our latest waitperson was Sami, a delightful young lady who tended to us as if we were her only table. You'll discover a menu with great selections with Chef Monty's personal flair and reasonably priced. If he can free himself, you'll most likely meet Monty, both owner and chef. It's hard to imagine a nicer guy unless it's Kyle, the manager! Palmer's atmosphere is suitable for casual conversation over a meal, for Sunday brunch, an anniversary, or a romantic date night. One of our favorite activities is evenings in the courtyard with wine and appetizers. Also, it's difficult to resist their desserts, by the way! Reservations are accepted on a limited basis, but "call ahead" is always available. There, I've said it. Against my better judgement, you now what I you know. The rest is up to you.

The food portions were surprisingly small for the price -- honestly small enough for a toddler. However, i prefer the Graduate plate and I will say the mashed potatoes were incredible and probably the best I've had anywhere but the pot chop tasted like turkey and had no flavor. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest disappointment. Our waiter never really welcomed us or made us feel appreciated as guests, especially for such an important occasion with a party of 13. As the graduate and guest of honor, I felt completely ignored the entire night, which especially upset my mother. He mainly interacted with only one family member the entire evening and came across as cold and uninterested. I understand he may have had a broken wrist or was having a difficult day, but it still felt disrespectful and lacking basic hospitality. I might consider returning someday to try the regular menu instead of the preset graduation menu, but I definitely would not want the same waiter again.

The parking is very limited some spots in the parking lot, more on the street around the area. The place is small, but the sound was great. Small stage, but big enough for a 5 piece band. I really enjoyed the out door patio area. Plenty of space to move around. A gas fire pit. Some spots to play games. I got to sit outside and smoke a cigar. The bathrooms were clean, but no paper towels inside. Now, to the bar. Had to wait for 15 minutes to get a drink. I asked what they had on tap, and out of 8 taps, only one had a keg. So I asked for an IPA, and they told me they only had uncle dunkle, was the only IPA. I rollED my eyes, cause that wasn't an IPA. They didn't have any mint, so I couldn't get a mojito for Maria. They could make a margarita for her. While I was waiting for my drinks, there was a lady waiting for her food, she said that she has been waiting 30 minutes. While the band was playing, I got me two more beers, cause the bartenders were pretty busy. After a while I noticed the lady come back to bar looking for her food. By this time it had been well over an hour. She was told that they gave her order to someone else. Waiting for service here was the worst. Then not having stuff to make drinks.

It came with Texas toast, and out of the choice between hashbrowns, refried beans, and diced potatoes, we went with diced potatoes. The omelet was a delicious mixture of cheesy goodness and tasty veggies packed nearly to bursting. We got it to go, and it was still warm after the trip home. The toast was just the right shade of brown. The potatoes were excellent. They were just salty enough without going overboard, and the level of seasoning was *just* right.
