A pretty good first run at this place. They're very new and I think they're still working at getting into a good rhythm as far as service goes. That was more of a 3 star performance. I'd have to give the decor and ambience 3 stars as well. There were plenty of TV's, but nothing wowed me. The food and beer is what gets me clicking on that fourth star. They deliver on saying they have 99 different beers. Many were on tap and the rest bottled. I liked how they have listed the size glass you're going to get, alcohol content, and where the beer was made. They also let you sample to ensure you like it before you order it. It was nice to see a lot of beers represented from the region. I had the Cinder Block IPA from North KC. Mighty tasty and packs a bit of a punch. I do think the beers are a bit pricey. Mine ran me six bucks. To eat, I had the BELT with fries. The fries were spot on, and the sandwich almost had me ordering another one. The bread they used is perfect for the sandwich and toasted well. Good crisp lettuce and nice slices of tomato. Plenty of crisp bacon, and a perfect sunny side up egg. The sandwich comes sliced in half which gives the runny yolk time to permeate the sandwich. The garlic aioli takes it over the top. The food prices seem okay to me as well. The menu has some interesting options for appetizers or snacks like poutine, deviled eggs, curried cashews, marinated mixed olives, and Irish meatballs to name a few. Amazing food! However, the dirty lines in the beer wall somewhat ruined my experience. They need to be cleaned on a regular basis. Otherwise the beer tastes a little off. I would definitely give 4 stars if they fix the issue. Customer service is good but not great. read more

They are pretty solid. Traveling it helps when a place is low key and consistent. They accomplish that.

Not too bad for a new place. Service was slow but still good. The draft and bottle lists were varied; however, they had a high number of sours which was surprising. The food was also fairly well done. My husband loved the Shepherd's pie, and it was beautifully made. The beef looked tender and the mash potatoes on top were the perfect consistency. My chicken sandwich was alright. Named the Hahnchen, it had gruyère cheese, sweet and sour cabbage, and bread and butter pickles with German mustard on a pretzel bun. It would have been great, but there was way too much mustard and it overpowered the flavor of all the other sandwich components. I would definitely go back again though to try other menu items as everything sounded delicious. No complaints on the beer we had. Great selection overall. read more

This is one of my favorite resturaunts in North KC - which is not something I ever thought I'd say about a casino restaurant! Any of you who are familer with casino fare know that the restraurants usually leave a lot to be desired - but this place is the exception! First of all, the beer wall. It's the only one I know of in the KC area that has a self-serve tap wall, and it's such a fun way to try new beers and spend time with friends and family. There are about 25 or so taps on the wall with all kinds of different craft beers - several of which are local. Pour out as much or as little as you want of each beer, you use a card when you pour that allows you to pay per ounce at the end of the meal. There's a beer for everyone here! They also have a large bar in the center of the space with tons more bottled and draft beers to try (plus options for non beer drinkers like wine and ciders). Second of all, the FOOD. The menu is mostly your typical pub food items like burgers and wings, salads and pizzas, with some German and Mediterranean items too. But its not typical in taste and flair - everything Ive tried was really well done and thoughtfully presented. The pulled pork nachos are amazing, the burgers excellent, the fish and chips were perfect, the sausage platter with boiled red cabbage was delicious. Since I went vegan last year, my last few visits have consisted of mostly side items and appetizers, but even those are filling and really tasty! I love the hummus platter, marinated olives, and curry cashews. Third of all, the service has been consistently good and the prices are fair and affordable. It's obvious that Argosy has really taken offering guests a unique and enjoyable dining experince seriously with this place, I hope more casinos will follow suit! Usually casino food options are extremely generic, just something thats ok to fill you up while the main focus is the casino. This place is different. Definitely give it a try if you are going to the casino or in the general area! read more

Really love this place! We live super close to argosy and frequent more than we probably should... anyhow, 99 hops is one of my favorite sports bars. Very clean, lots of tvs, DELICIOUS food, and super awesome employees (there's one bartender who seems to run the show and has the highest level customer service - very service oriented). Mustafa was our server and a delight. The beer wall selections were outstanding. We poured a lot of 2-3 oz samples so I had ten different beers without having to fill up with a gallon of beer. The food was good, not great but good. If you're a beer snob you will be in heaven. Well worth the drive from Lees Summit. We had a great time and will be back! read more

It's my first time staying at the casino for a concert and I went with friends who recommended local restaurants down the street so after walking there and being told 40 minutes we decided to try 99 hops house to see if we could eat sooner to make our concert in time. We were told at the hostess station 10 minutes so after 20 we were losing our patience and asked how much longer and we're told that it was going to be another 15 minutes because the kitchen was backed up...... It's now been another 20 minutes ...... We would have been better off waiting for the other places ...... read more

Nice spot within the casino to break up the evening and have a few beers. Lovely bartending staff. Friendly wait staff. I can recommend the buffalo chicken sandwich, but the rest of the food was just average at best. We ate here on three separate occasions during our stay. Cheese curds came out stuck together in a giant glob. We were only able to eat about four of them before it became a mushy mess. Shepherd's Pie was meh - basically burger, a few veggies & bland gravy with mashed potatoes on top. Breakfast was inedible. I ordered a biscuit and gravy, two eggs over medium, bacon and hashbrowns. They served it all together in a shallow platter, which caused everything to mix together toward the middle. Hashbrowns were just hot shredded potatoes, no crispiness anywhere. Bacon was fine. The gravy on the biscuit was beige and had a distinct, odd flavor I didn't care for. Since it was all over the eggs, I couldn't eat those either. On the positive side, the self-serve beer wall is neat, its cold, and there are lots of local selections. read more

Came into KC for work, needed dinner after late flight and this place was in my hotel. Grabbed a nice tasty dark beer torn label brand after a taste test and ordered a mushroom burger well done. I don't like mooing burgers only steaks. This was a great burger. Juicy and tasty yum. They did forget to toast my bun but heck I could have finished it anyway. Tossed the bun after it got too soggy and gobbled up the rest of the cheesy meat and mushrooms. Our bartender/server was a doll and made the visit great with her excellent service. read more

Went there to watch the game and for there beer selections. Order a beer that was on special because the keg was almost tapped. It came out without any head and no carbonation so I sent it back. 2nd select you could see the head and carbonation but after 10 min tasted flat. Thinking that it might be just a poor microbrew I ordered something that I was familiar with. Again the beer was off, the head was very thick and creamy similar to a can of whipping cream at the end of its life. I'm not sure whether it's the storage tempeture or a low keg pressure that's the issue. The food was good but again I came for the beer that was not good so I won't be back. read more

Heading from Los Angeles to St Louis, heard about 99 Hops House and made a detour. I have heard about this restaurant before so decided to stop by.... Great decision. The Frito Misto is fantastic. The vegetables are fresh and crisp and the sauces are a great accompanyment but the real delight is the thin lemon slices treated the same way. Wow, what a delightful surprise. Also tried the wings and flank steak. Both also fantastic. Chef Pete Smith came out and greeted us. So now I am also star chef struck. read more

I cant believe it took me so long to find this gem tucked inside the Argosy casino. We visited this restaurant on Saturday and were totally impressed. They have 99 taps of different micro brews on the wall where you can pour a one ounce glass to see which ones you like. We ordered wings as an appetizer and I have to say there were the best tasting wings we have ever had and believe me as someone who has wings at least once a week, that is saying something. We ordered sandwiches and they were excellent as was the service. The General Manager Eric was very friendly and came to our table several times to make sure we were enjoying our visit. We had an exceptional time and walked away very full as the portions were a good size. If in the area I highly recommend visiting this establishment, you wont be sorry. 99 Hops House is AMAZING. I am so happy that this space was tuned into this place. I have been so pleased with most everything at Argosy -- the casino itself is fun, the bands, the service, the hotel, the spa, the restaurants. But a dear friend introduced me to Hops House a little over a year ago, and showed me the beer wall. We met Carl Ramsey that day ..... and from that point on EVERY time we have gone there Carl is there with a huge smile, and remember us. He is amazing with customers, has taught us so much about different beers and breweries, and has been just wonderful !!!!! I am thankful and appreciative for people like him, because it is one solid quality that makes coming out there more frequently enjoyable. I love Argosy all around because for me - a teacher - it is one place I can go to ( not necessary to gamble LOL ) and feel like I am truly on a getaway. The only request I have had for 10 years is that you add an adult swimming pool .... but in good humor I understand the liabilities behind an idea like that - and will continue to love your steakhouse, hotel, spa, and 99 Hops House. Had to try out the new place at Argosy Casino in Riverside,Mo.Walked in at 7:00pm last night ,went to the bar sat down with three employees working in a small area you would have thought we could have gotten some kind of recognition,like hello will be right with you . For a Friday night I would have thought the place would of had a line out the door since it`s such a new place . Not the case and now I know why. We placed our order had Chicken wings and Thai salad,when the food came the Chicken wings were under cooked with blood ,the Thai salad had a funky taste.We called the waitress over and we asked to order something else and to send back the chicken wings . We got a fresh batch of Chicken wings and they were under cooked also!!! I asked to speak to the Manager ,he came over and I explained I was hesitant to eat raw Chicken! We then order a Mushroom Burger and a Spinach salad it took forever to get the next order of food..The place wasn`t busy at all at this point ,not to say it was to begin with ! We asked the waitress if we could just take our food home since we had to wait so long,she said no problem.She also talked to the manager and he comp part of our dinner.We did tip the waitress if your wondering,it sure wasn't her fault ! Got home and took one bite of the Mushroom Burger ,it had some God awful seasoning in it tasted like MUD! One more to go Spinach salad a hit or a miss,well it was a miss for sure no flavor at all !!!! We threw them both in the trash and had peanut butter and crackers for dinner ! We will never eat at 99 Flop House again,thanks but no thanks!!!! Food is a 3.5, Servers are a 4, but cleanliness is a 1.5. They don't staff a busses during the week and it's hard to get a clean table even at 9pm on a Tuesday night. Argosy itself needs to spend some $$ fixing the bathrooms & on a face lift for the hotel entrance. read more
