Decided to try a new restaurant last night. We were pleasantly surprised by Hops n Drops Sherwood! What brought us was the tempura zucchini. What will keep us coming back is . . .everything! All of our meal was excellent in every way. Try the spiked root beer! Fun and tasty drink! Clam chowder is one of the best I have tasted. Service was excellent, we were never lacking in attention. order a soda at $4, she asked if i wanted a refill and i said yes, paid and realized she charged me $4 for the refill also. with tip that regular sized soda with ice and one refill cost me almost $10. bad business. i won't fall for that again by not going back to the restaurant. read more

This place was okay. If after a day of hiking you want your belly full of food. For one thing, see attached photo. It says "we serve our beer at 34 degrees...blah.. blah..blah.. Well, that fine if you're drinking Budweiser or Coors and you don't want to taste it, because it's so bad tasting. This is Oregon, the place you want to go to Taste your micro-brews, not have it served so cold, in a frosted glass, that after about 2 minutes, there's actual ice forming inside your glass! If you're a true beer lover, like I am, I wouldn't go back here for the beer, unless they change the degrees in which they serve it. I ordered the jalapeño burger, on the menu they said it was spicy, even the waitress said it was spicy. Wasn't spicy, I guess it's all in the tastebuds, the tots were good. We go here regularly as it is close to our house and has an extensive menu so there is something we all can find to enjoy. The service has always been excellent, if anything that says the most about this place. Great service is hard to find nowadays. Food is generally very good and nothing I have had (except the French dip ) has been subpar. Drinks are good, beer is cold, and they have plenty of seating. read more

Came here for an early dinner at 4:15pm. A couple people in the bar but fairly calm. We were greeted and seated quickly in the bar. That's where it stopped. No one came by our table, or even acknowledged us. We were sitting there waiting for a least 10mins. The entire time about 7 employees were in the kitchen area (behind bar) just hanging out talking. We've been back a few times and have felt the service is hit or miss. In our most recent visit we ordered 3 burgers in our group, after asking the server how the burgers would come, the server replied that they are cooked all the way through. Unfortunately all 3 burgers came back no more than cooked medium. When asking the server if this was normal they responded that it looked cool through, but they would have to ask someone in the kitchen if they looked undercooked. Lesson learned on our end, from now on we will make sure to specify the temperature we want it cooked, but also we won't assume the server understands the difference between well done, medium, medium etc... read more

This is the second time I've been here and my husband frequents this place for lunch and raves about the food. They are a higher price point for drinks and food if you aren't taking advantage of their happy hour. I'm not gonna lie, the food is very tasty and service is great but prices are steep to stop in more than every once in awhile. I tried the best huckleberry lemon drop I've ever had. They serve their drops in a glass made of ice that was so "cool" but they were 11.25 per lemon drop. They have a bunch of flavors to choose from and a very extensive drink list. Happy hour prices are slightly less than full price. We also tried the ranch style cheese curds to start and they were light and full of flavor. Definitely delicious but very steep at 10.95 for not a very big serving size. I had the shrimp Po'boy and tasty tots for dinner. Hubby had the jalapeño cream cheese burger in Texas toast with tots as well. Service was on point and we were frequently checked on. read more

I was fortunate to eat at HopsNDrops on only their 3rd day open. But it is already a well-oiled machine. I was greeted and seated right away even though it was pretty busy. My server Anthony was there shortly to tell me about their menu and suggest some items. I ordered a water, the house pale ale, Queso and chips, and for my entree the Jalepeno and cream cheese Burger. Everything I had was phenomenal! The drinks were ice cold (all beers poured at 34 degrees) and the food was so good. The queso is not some cheap cheese poured in a dish. The burger was done just right. I will have to come back again because if their expansive menu is as good or better than what I ate then I will be a regular. There is a lot to choose from. The only drawback if there is one is that they are a little on the spendy side. My beer was $6.50, the drops are $10. The queso was $10, and the burger was $15. For just me it was $31.40. So I don't know if I will be bringing the whole family all at once. It would cost without drinks $100. I could get the price down with no appetizers. But that shouldn't deter you from trying HopsNDrops. It was worth the money in service and taste. This isn't fast food, it's great food served fast. read more

Typically I have a 5 star experience when I come here, but this most recent time my server randomly put a stipulation on the amount of lemonade flavors. We come in all the time, request to sit in the same booth if possible, and my wife has always been given 4 or more flavors in her lemonade. Our server told her it was a rule that she only be allowed 2 flavors when no other server has ever mentioned this before. I'm asking for some consistency here. We were enjoying coming here without bothering anyone else, however randomly having rules pushed in our face that have never been implemented prior is not cool. Pretty OK for our first visit. Was greeted at the door and seated almost immediately, there were 6 of us so a table had to be cleared first before we could sit down. It was 6:30 on a Thursday night and they were very busy but not uncomfortably packed. Nice atmosphere, moderate noise level. Lots of TVs tuned to the NFL Thursday night game. Our waitress, Jess, was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. She answered our questions, took our drink order and chatted a bit. My husband and I ended up ordering the same thing: BBQ Carnitas Flatbread ($11.95): a thin flatbread smothered in Hops n Drops special BBQ sauce and topped with carnitas, mozzarella cheese, red onion and fresh cilantro. It was an appetizer made to share but it was a satisfying meal for one person. We also ordered side salads, Caesar for him ($5.95): The classic. Romaine lettuce, Parmesan cheese, and croutons. Chicken breast or sautéed shrimp could be added for a few dollars more. The "Good ol' Mixed Green" salad for me ($5.95): A blend of mixed greens, shredded cheddar cheese, cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes and crispy fried wontons served with a choice of salad dressing. Chicken breast or sautéed shrimp could be added to it also. The side salads are pretty large. More like a regular salad at most other places. Hops n Drops is known for it's beer menu - served cold, at 34 degrees- but they have a small, decent wine menu too. The Drops and cocktails looked interesting., served in a "glass" made of ice. They looked good, might try one next time. The restaurant is "kid-friendly" and has a small kids menu. Burgers, grilled cheese, mac n cheese, corn dogs, the usual suspects. I love that 50 cents from every kid meal sold at Hops n Drops is donated to feed local kids in need. We will definitely be going back! read more

First time here - shout out to server Shae for great service and real reason for this 5***** review. He offered for me to try some samples when I couldn't decide. Their beers come in a very cold glass and I finally settled on their house lager. It was deliciously smooth. I ordered the soup and salad so I could try their "best you've ever had" French onion soup. It was really good and the side Cesar salad was excellent. Just the right amount of dressing and tasted fresh. I'm guessing the pita bread is cooked in bacon because it tasted smoky and amazing! Hint: it is not much more $ to order their large beer but I had to refrain at lunch. Looks like a great happy hour as well. This is, I think, the fourth or fifth location for this aspiring chain. Their strategy is clear: Something for everyone. The menu is basic American, but leans a little Mexican... but not too much. Then it leans a little Asian... but not too much. Then it leans a little Italian/European... but not too much. Lots of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, tacos, flat breads/pizzas, pasta, there's something for everyone. And there's something acceptable to most of the less-extreme dietary fads too. The menu is large with scores of options and extras. It's a wonder that such a small kitchen can turn out such a diversity of cuisine. Of course, when you see a menu this broad, this deliberately unfocused, you can be quite sure that most of the food is not house-made. French fries, onion rings, and tatter tots are three give-aways for this. I've had all three here and they are all clearly just ready-made frozen stuff they fry up. There's nothing particularly wrong with that, especially if you do it well as Hops and Drops does. But there's nothing especially right about it either. None of the food I've had here is bad. But none of it is especially good either. There's nothing here that compels me to drive two miles from my house to eat here. And two miles isn't that far. A restaurant ought to compel a two mile trip. Something for everyone. There are a few TVs with games on if you're a sports fan. But if you're not, well this isn't a "sports bar," so you'll be comfortable too. Something for everyone. Up to 16 beers on tap. That's the hops in Hops and Drops. And they promise the coldest beer in town, specifically served at 34 degrees. The frost on the taps testifies to that. Most beer aficionados, however, prefer good beer at about 54. The extreme cold temperatures mute to delicate flavors, especially of craft/micro-brewed beers. It's really a shame to serve them that cold. The Drops in Hops and Drops refers to drop-style cocktails, the bar's specialty. These are vodka-based, fruit flavored, and sweetened. One has to be careful with this style of cocktail as the fruit flavors and sugar mask the potent alcohol. If you're one who dislikes "traditional" cocktails, Martinis, Manhattans, Old Fashions, gin and tonic, etc., you may prefer these sweet drop-style cocktails instead. Again, something for everyone. Drop-style cocktails, what a thing to specialize in. It's just dump-and-pour stuff lacking any bartending skill. But remember that the goal at this place seems not to be to have or cultivate any particular skill. The goal is to minimally satisfy as many people as possible. So, even the house specialty can't be very special. Speaking of the bar, it's adequately stocked and should be able to create an adequate rendition of any standard cocktail. The top shelf is weak and selection is poor for most things... except for the flavored vodkas needed for drop-style cocktails. Again, we keep coming back to something for everyone, but nothing particularly special. Something for everyone, children too. Their Children's Menu is separate and actually extensive with lots of choices and options. Again, the goal is clearly to offer the broadest appeal possible. The largest table is for ten, so this isn't a great place for big groups. Parking is plentiful. It's a bit tricky to get to right now as the area is still under construction. It shares a parking lot with and is directly across from the Planet Fitness gym which is the largest building and most prominent signage; so, start by looking for that building. In conclusion, the specialty of the house here is... well... not having a specialty... very cold beer and drop-style cocktails, I guess. The real specialty is being inoffensive. This is the sort of restaurant where a group (up to 10) of diverse people with differing tastes can go and all be minimally happy. There's something for everyone. Been here a few times and it hasn't disappointed. The drops come in a glass made of ice that drips into another glass which kept it cold without watering the drink down. (Never really tastes any alcohol so not very strong at all. That can be good or bad depending on how you like your drinks) I had the chicken strips (which are actually thin strips) they were crispy on the outside and very tender. They get 5 stars. The patty melt was good but would have been better on rye. And the fries are AMAZING Our server (I think his name was jake) was also the bartender and was awesome! Went for the second time in just a week. They have great customer service. We had a large group and went at a busy time. We had a wait but they were very sorry for the wait. We did split our table and it was no issue. The server was great. I ordered the sour patch drop. It was so good. These iced drinks are so good. I also got the roast beef dip which was the best one I have had in a long time. The French onion soup was done right and so good. I would say needs more cheese. My garlic fries were good but lacked a lot of garlic like the night before. Over all I will continue to make this my go to burger place. read more

I had a chance to try Hops n Drops last night for a family get together. I've driven by here several times and it looked interesting. The sign says "a neighborhood gathering place." It is. This place is one where I arrived in a down mood after a stressful day. I left feeling good. I've been trying to think of something to pick on here but really can't. When we arrived the staff opened the door for us which was a nice touch of customer service. The place was busy but not packed. We would of been at a table in a few minutes but found the rest of our party was already in and seated. Our server, Jess, was very personable and knew her menu well. In fact the entire staff did. They have a digital ordering system that allows the staff not only to put the order in but time when it comes out. The place has been open 3 weeks according to Yelp. They really have it together for a new place. There are some other touches which I liked. An example is the center tables have a sliding partition. If you need a bigger table, slide it down. If you want privacy slide it up. Hops is good for families and has a bar area for the adults. I recommend their French Onion Soup and Chocolate Cake. read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon and there was more staff than patrons, but they are a new business so I understand. Overall everyone was pleasant and helpful, and food and drinks came out fast.
