Our server served us beers that were half foam but he did realize it later on and replaced it for us. As for food, we ordered and shared everything. Definitely enjoyed the pizza! I was a little disappointed with the Caesar salad though because we ordered the regular but the portion was so small I had to double check with the server that we weren't accidentally served a small. Overall the food was good! We came on a Sunday around 6pm. They had quite a few tables but the place was not filled completely. But somehow it still took a while for our food to come out. We waited a long time for our beer also. But that wasn't the servers fault. In fact, our server did explain they had to open a new tap. Our first beers came out extremely flat and was half foam. But the server kindly replaced it for us. Overall, once the food came out, most of it was delicious. Sadly, we paid $12 for a small bowl of ceasar salad. Recently went out to Coopers Mountain with some girlfriends, the highlight of the evening was our server, she was a hoot and really worked hard to make us comfortable. The restaurant is in the heart of Main Street in Tigard, so it's in a great area, and has a nice patio to eat outside. In terms of the food, I wasn't blown away, but I'd be willing to try again. My burger came out with a soggy bottom bun so it immediately started falling a part. I didn't end up eating most of my meal unfortunately. read more

Just ran into a listing for Cooper Mountain, not on Fanno Creek in Tigard, which I know well, but this one is in sherwood. They have a great location in the middle of old town. I road me Scout today and It's Saturday so there's a Saturday market too. I was a little late for that but next time I'll be early. I order a black larger and the pub wings dry lemon pepper rub. It hit the spot. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The is more than a pizza parlor, with the brewery, and other wonderful food offerings it's a destination for lunch or dinner. I've been of a fan of the Tigard location and was stoked to hear they were opening closer to home. Everything great about the other location is the same here. Solid pizza, good burgers/sandwiches, and friendly staff. I'm sure the beer is good but I don't like beer so I don't know. I will take your word for the beer quality once you post a review. This place just gets better! We went during the Robin Hood Festival. It was busy, but the service was good. The food was excellent! Their wings are some of the best I've had. The pizza was delicious, with more of a chewy crust (not wood-fired). We were a party of 8, so the tip was automatically added to the bill. I really appreciate the server pointing that out when she dropped the off the check. She didn't have to tell us and at least a couple of the people in the group would have tipped her again. Happy that there is a new place in this location which appears to me a major upgrade from the previous tenets. The feeling when you walk in is welcoming and refreshing. Smells like wood fired pizza and hops (what a great combination). We tried a bevy of items off the menu from salads, burgers, Mac and cheese and some kids items. Overall, flavor profiles were really good but the only downside is how expensive their menu was (aside from their kids menu). I will say the bread they served with their soups and salads is very yummy! The pizza is pretty good, I like their pizza dough, but, they are super stingy with any and all toppings. I asked for some mushrooms on my pizza, and there was exactly four tiny, very slim slices on the WHOLE pizza, and of course, I had to pay extra for that! My friends liked their beer, and our server was a very nice. I am not giving up on this place, but I hope the food can improve. Pub Mac was super dry and noodles undercooked and I'm pretty sure the breadcrumbs were just crushed cheez-its. Cajun burger was super dry and the fries were overloaded with rosemary. We order the pub and bites off the happy hour and asked the server what today's "bites" were to which he responded "I have no idea"- then asked if that's what we want. We had to ask him to go ask at the kitchen and he acted put out by the request. Our server was super sassy and smelled so strong of cigarettes. We walked in with two adults and a toddler and asked for a high chair - the response was if you can find one in the building it's yours and the server just walked away leaving us to find one and grab a table. This location was previously the very similar Smockville Brewing for several years offering a very similar concept and menu. In a case like this, the success or failure of the new place becomes a referendum of the previous ownership/management. Smockville (I ate there at least twenty times) frustrated me. I had some good beer, good food, and good service there, but i had some disappointing beer, food, and service there too. You could go there one day and have a great meal with good service, then go a week later and have the same thing and be disappointed. It was frustratingly inconsistent. As a result, you couldn't take guests there or even suggest it. And it couldn't become a regular favorite either. This sort of inconsistency results from poor management. Management is not supervising the kitchen to be sure that recipes and processes are followed. (And if they're not consistently following the recipes, then you've got to wonder about sanitation practices.) And management was not supervising the staff to ensure the level of discipline and professionalism customers have a right to expect at this price point. Comes now Cooper Mountain Brewing. It's the same location. It's the same basic format. The menu isn't dramatically different. Why does the new ownership think they can succeed where their predecessor failed? What is the new management going to bring to the table? How about consistency? How about consistently great beer, consistently great food, and consistently good service leading to consistently good experiences? I've eaten here three times now and am l pleased to report three great glasses of beer, three great meals, three great servers, three good experiences. There is hope. This is a good location and I think that a classic brew pub is a good format for the location and for Sherwood. I think Cooper Mountain can be successful here. The beer is good. I'm a hop-head myself (I know, call me an Oregonian). So, I have stuck to the hoppier side of the menu and been pleased with some excellent, Oregon-style IPA. The food is also good. And the kitchen is able to deliver a burger medium-rare. I've also enjoyed some nice Pasta and a good sandwich too. The service is good managing to balance professionalism with congeniality. One complaint: the dining room is noisy. Between the floor-to-ceiling glass, the polished concrete floors, the hard-deck ceilings and the lack of any upholstery, sound just rattles around in here. When it's busy, it can be hard to understand the person sitting next to you. (Notes to management: a) turn the music way down; the last thing this room needs is more sound. B) hire an acoustician and get this room treated!) Fortunately, weather permitting, there's a huge patio with pleasant outdoor seating. There's a small parking lot behind the building, on-street parking, and a couple of lots within a couple of blocks. This place is physically part of the Sherwood Arts Center (we Oregonians do think that brewing is an art). Accessibility is good. Given a bit of heads-up, they can accommodate groups up to maybe 20. I recommend Cooper Mountain Brewing and wish them every success. read more

Let's just say this is a huge step up from Smockville (the previous tenant in the same location the currently houses Cooper Mountain Ale Works). The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and inviting. The manager (Rachel), the bartender (Ben), head chef (Dakota) and wait staff/hostess/jackie of all trades (Willow) are all great at what they do, always moving and catering to any/all the customers. The tap list is ever changing (but has something for everyone). The food selection is diverse with occasional specials. Food is far and above the old restaurants selection and quality. We have dined here multiple times, sometimes just grabbing a drink, other times grabbing lunch or dinner and we have had a great experience each time. We live in Sherwood and have been here 3 times now. And everytime we have had the same experience...food (especially the pizza) is delicious!! Beer is also really good. But all 3 times the service has been extremely slow and it has taken 2+ hours each time for us to eat there. Especially with kids (although even without kids) 2 hours at a restaurant is way too long for a local restaurant/pub. We really hope this can improve because we love supporting local businesses. read more
