This place is no different than any other start-up chain ala' Chile's, TGIFridays, etc. it's your typical strip mall pub. Food was mediocre, staff was okay, beer was cold. Expect the staff to really work to up sell you. All they need is more flare on their uniforms to make the look complete. Sherwood deserves better than another Chain type spot. Suggest going to Ancestry or Industry instead. read more

Food was pretty good, prices are HIGH! $10.50 for their famous "drops". They are pretty cool, and anyone into that sort of thing should try it. The "glass" made of ice which is pretty darn cool. Then save your money and make your own at home. We had the burger and the rib tips. Both we good, but expensive for the portions. My rib tips were 14.95 and I got 8-10 small rib tips (about the size of a chicken nugget). They have cartilage running through them so they are only about 1/2 meat. I also got the garlic fries, they were ok. I would prefer a garlic dipping sauce or a garlic powder seasoning, the actually garlic was over powering and made the fries soggy. My husband had cheddar bacon burger with mushrooms (not on the menu, but we added bacon to the mushroom burger) and it was also $14.95. He said the burger was "decent" which means eatable but not awesome. (Full disclosure, he's a burger snob). He ordered a strawberry lemonade. It was bottomless and they use REAL fruit... great stop in Sherwood, OR. It is tucked away - so it's necessary to GPS it. From Newberg or way west take a left on Edy road and then another left, veer back into parking lot. It's across from PlanetFitness. Somehow I heard or saw this name at work. Then as I was delivering my parents to a haircut in Newberg I saw this marquee on the way out. Wondered? Is it more than a taphouse? Food? Lunch? Anyway, I suggested we go there after the haircut. We were greeted by an employee that held the door open for us. Nice touch, or was it by chance? We were kindly greeted and welcomed in. This is a full restaurant. They have a nice selection of unique, local beers on tap. Not too many as to get overwhelmed. My mom was happy they had Bud Light...cute. I ordered their house pale. It was decent, refreshing. Their food menu was pretty big, I liked the font they used for the print, plenty of choices. I went back and forth a few times in my mind and chose the Tomato Basil Grilled Cheese sandwich. It was good. Not overwhelming or memorable, but good. Came with chips. Kind of expensive for a small sandwich-$12.95. My folks were very happy with their burger and pulled pork sandwich. They were delighted about the visit and glad to try a new place. I even tried a small sample of the pulled pork and burger, too. The service was pleasant - attentive. Cheerful atmosphere a bit of sport on TV, we sat in the bar, restaurant seems vast with plenty of seating. Not cheap, entrees $12+, beers $6 plus. I was very pleased with the whole experience at hops n drops. As we walked up to the door the hostess opened the door for us and walked us to a booth. Our server, Tiawna, came a moment later and took our drink order. We had to take a moment to decided what sounded best to us. There were so many options that sounded amazing! I had a tough time deciding which burger I wanted. Tiawna was very helpfully with which one she liked best. While ordering I asked if Cajun tots were an option. I wasn't told it's not, but she'll see if they could be made. The kitchen made them for me and no extra charge! For a non menu item they were so good! Our food came out less than 10min after ordering! (1 burger with Cajun tots and 2 different types of Mac) while eating our drinks stayed full. All of the wait staff was good at keeping there eyes on everybody's drinks. Reasons to go: friendly staff, good service, amazing tasting food, sports on TV, it not super loud atmosphere and good prices($14 for burger). Sriracha tempura shrimp was outstanding! The bartender and staff were super accommodating explaining the big menu and bar in detail. Coldest beer in town and martinis served in an ice cup, so cool! Fantastic happy hour and big menu plus breakfast all weekend. Homemade soups,salads, burgers, fish tacos and salads. $5 pints and that plate of shrimp was $9 during happy hour. read more

Hops & Drops was recommended to us, and we stopped in to celebrate TGIF with early dinner and time to relax. Admittedly, I had a little difficulty finding it! We were promptly seated and the attentive server, Chris, did a fine job. I noted with my first glance at the menu that the prices were higher than average, but the atmosphere and comfort were worth the experiment. My chicken sandwich (chicken, bacon, ham & cheese on a bun with tater tots) was delicious. My wife enjoyed her fish taco dinner also. Great service and food! Homemade doughnuts make this place unique as well as their own branded IPA! Really couldn't get over how friendly our waitress was and how she anticipated our every need. We have been to HopsnDrops many times but this was the first time for take out in the COVID era. We ordered a teriyaki burger and a guacamole burger, both with fries. We were told the food would be ready in about 15 minutes. The process of pickup was easy. We arrived. I called the number provided and a person brought our food to our car. Easy! The food was very good. We both enjoyed our burgers, which were large juicy and flavorful. We also liked the fries which were crisp and crunchy. Excellent! Why only 4 stars? Well this was the second time coming here and this time was not as great. The service was good although the place was kinda empty and we were sat right next to the kitchen so the atmosphere was weird. The Oktoberfest beer was good but the cider was kinda off and tasted like a candle because it was so cinnamon. But the biggest problem was that I ordered my sandwich without bacon or ham and my boyfriend ordered his burger with pepper jack cheese and he ended up with cheddar cheese and sure enough I had bacon. They fixed their mistake promptly and without hesitation so I chalk that up to an honest mistake but some people are less forgiving so be careful with special requests. read more

Downside is prices are high for what you get. I ordered a small side of fries for my son and it was $7. Then for $15 my husbands salad was lacking. I came in after work to check this place out and boy was I impressed! My servers name was Anthony and he was great, you honestly wouldn't think the place just opened with the knowledge and finesse at which he did his job. Kudos on management for grabbing that one. Now onto the food and drinks.... Amazing..... I had a sour patch drop and it was the bomb it came in a frozen glass they made in the bar for me. For dinner I had the Jalapeño Cream Cheese Burger and I don't know that I have ever had such a great burger it was perfect. The server mentioned it would be my fave and he was right. Bland. Really really bland. My spicy chicken grilled cheese was either missing the sauce or was just lacking flavor. My wife had an avocado ranch salad that lacked any spices or seasoning. The bowl for her salad was cool, but messy as it easily slid around the table. Our server checked in so often that we felt like we were taking care of them instead of them taking care of us. I also felt rushed to make a decision before the rest of our party arrived. We left with a headache and our ears ringing from the noise that bounced into the corner we sat in. Came to this place while on vacation and had a great time. Good food and awesome service. Came here the next night, since we thought we knew what we were getting into, and it was a completely different experience. The waiter messed up our drink order which isn't a big thing since they fixed it no problem. The food was not great compared to what we had the night before. Then after waiting for what felt like 20 mins after we were finished with our food our waiter finally came with the check. I marked the 10% tip for a $66 meal which I felt was more than acceptable because of the service. When I clicked the 10% tip it went from a $66 bill to a $76 bill. I didn't realize it at the time so I did not make a fuss but I'm no mathematician but I'm fairly certain that 10% of 66 is certainly not 10. Was not happy with the outcome of our stay and will be eating elsewhere while we are here. read more

Hi marks for customer service! Very friendly wait staff and you never have to wait long for food or drink and the drinks are ice cold. The only downside I see is price, the HH menu has a great selection but the prices are a little high for what you get. I also had a chicken avacado salad that was lacking toppings.
