I was never going to bother leaving a review for this dealership but the sheer fact that they continuously email me to ask me if there's anything they can do for me compelled me to go ahead and write a review. I called to test drive a car and when I called I said I was ready to do the deal all in one day, I just needed to drive the car. When I arrived I met a salesman that was not the original girl I had spoken to the evening before. He introduced himself to me as the internet sales manager and we proceeded to go for a test drive. When we first got in the vehicle I looked around with a turned up nose thinking somebody must have smoked in here before... Not the case, it was simply the sales person reeking of cigarette smoke. We proceeded to go for the test drive which was no more than a few miles, and I immediately knew something was wrong with this vehicle. You could hear the clunking coming from the suspension, and there was another noise when it accelerated. The salesperson played dumb but said he would immediately have service look at it and fix whatever was wrong with it. They wanted me to wait there. At first I thought, okay they are going to fix it. But the more I thought about it, the more it ticked me off that they would have me come test drive a car they had something so obviously wrong with it. I wasn't going to wait around. Told them to call me when they figured out what was wrong with it. Later on in that day they did call me and tell me that it had a control arm issue and that they replaced it and would I come back for another test drive. I expressed the fact that I was not impressed with the fact that they would have me come and drive a car that obviously had something so wrong with it and that I had reservations about buying from their dealership at all at that point. The salesperson got defensive in a text message, telling me that he had driven the car before and didn't notice anything wrong with it, and wished me luck in my car search. At that point I was moving on in my car search. Later that afternoon, the salesperson messaged me again telling me that they were sorry and he had spoken to his manager and they were willing to take $1,000 off the price of the vehicle. I told him if they could get me out at the price I wanted, I would be willing to come back and talk. He asked me when I could come back and I told him and he said he would make himself available. I returned to the dealership that evening at the time I said I would be there, and the salesperson was not there. Not only was he not there I was also advised that he had no authorization to tell me what he did about the price of the vehicle. I should have known better than to trust somebody who had no problems telling me during the original test drive that he had recently had his own car repossessed due to not paying on a title loan. All in all it was a terrible experience from beginning to end and I would recommend that nobody ever buy a vehicle from Horne Kia. Had taken my neighbors car in for service Wednesday. The service advisor was Joseph. Great guy by the way. When he was assisting there was another guy right behind Joseph. I overheard his name and I think it was Johnny or Jimmy. Cause he was somewhat helping the other service advisor. Anyways that Johnny or Jimmy guy was using some foul language and I had son with me. My wife bought a car from Horne Kia several years ago. When she returned to the dealership to try to sell it back -- something that a Horne salesperson had tried to get her to do for over a year -- she was informed that she would be offered well below the market value for the car, since it had been in an accident (with frame damage) before she purchased it. This information was not disclosed to us before she bought the vehicle. You're not required to disclose accident info in Arizona, and we should have checked the vehicle history on our own -- but the lack of transparency is shady at best, and dangerous at worst. Horne Kia had two Honda ads...I emailed to confirm availability I received confirmation they were still available. I emailed Hadair making sure both cars were still available. He said come on down and test drive them. We got there, he did not have the cars ready for us to drive, in fact he told us he didn't know where they were. Then he told us to wait and he would check his computer. After 15 minutes he came back with a print out of a different car that was $10,000 more than the one we wanted to see. It's this kind of crap that makes people HATE used car salesmen. Now you know why Carvana exits. I never want to step foot in a dealership again. read more

We recently had our car incorrectly diagnosed by Horne kia. After paying the diagnostic fee, we purchased the part that was diagnosed as bad. After installing and clearing the trouble code.....the light came back on! After we diagnosed the problem ourselves we found the intake manifold was faulty. We purchased a new intake manifold from Horne kia online and it was delivered. The box and plastic bag was open with a plastic piece loose in the bag. When i called the desk clerk he really wasn't much help. I asked to speak with his supervisor. He was very short with me on the phone cutting me off as I explained the situation. I dont expect parts to show up like this after paying the premium from a dealership! Very disappointing! They seem very consistent with poor service across the board. Charged me almost double MSRP, 10k more than the price we agreed on. We agreed that the price out the door after all the fees and everything for my 2022 Kia forte (with an MSRP of only 19k) would be 24k. After I saw my loan, I was shocked at how high it was. I went in with my husband to fix it, and they told me they would send over the paperwork (they never gave me any the day I bought the car). They never did. We bought a 2022 Kia K5 for my daughter. signed an out the door price ( OTD ) just to find out that they added items that I previously declined adding about 2500 to the agreed price, I went next day complaining to the Sales manager of course he does not want to remove the gap insurance and useless warranty. I ended up cancelling all warranties thru the warranty company and trying to get refund . It just a hassle to go thru all of this. In addition, I bought window tint package, a month passed and I am still waiting for a call back from service to install window tent, just keep getting promises. DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE. I have so many reasons and will try to sum it up. The car I bought was on their website and had an "online deal" of $18k. I went to check out the car and talk numbers. They gave every reason they could think of to not honor the online deal and would only sell it for $21k. The car also had a dent from their own employee crashing it. They promised they would fix it and it would look "brand new" and "unnoticeable". I trusted them and signed the papers. I picked up the car the next day and the dent was repaired HORRIBLY. I contacted the sales guy shortly after taking it home and said it needed to be repaired again or just buy it back. He ignored my texts. I tried calling the manager and he ignored me. The online price is just to get you in the door there will be over $2000 in dealer add on items like a maintenance plan, smart shield and ding/dint protection that they say is mandatory with all sales. Then finance will try to make you buy the same dealer add ONS that have already been added by my salesman Haidar. My paperwork got messed, I brought this up to the salesman and emailed the Tom the finance manager but didn't hear back from him. Sales Experience: Horne Kia is a LONG ways from Surprise, but I worked together a nice deal over email. Numbers were quoted, and I even pre-qualified for Kia financing. I drove in the next day to "pickup" my car, only to get quite a few hours of "haggling" over what was quoted to me. I was told my Kia financing was garbage, and the GM worked me over on all the hidden "add ons" They tint the windows on every car ($699) and add a "protection" package. But it's nowhere on their online quotes. Be wary when you get your pricing as they will suddenly add a couple grand to what you thought was the final number. In the end, I still got my car, and the final price was reasonable, but definitely not the deal I thought I was going to get. Return Experience: So that $699 window tint had bubbles in it. Normally I would get my local guy to tint my car, but I paid a lot of dealer money for good tint, they should make it perfect! I timed the appointment to be with my first oil change. Horne Kia had sent me an email with a coupon for complimentary first service. I saved the email and double checked it when I made my appointment. The day I arrived, the email was all broken links. Turns out they "expired" the free first service coupon. Surely the GM would set things straight? NO! Mr. Bauman denied the complimentary service. Their only recommendation? You should have printed it. Bottom Line: I took a chance on Kia because of an amazing product, but have found dealers to be less than phenomenal. We bought a 2020 Sportage brand new, when we were at 20000 miles an engine light came on, we took it in 4 times and it wasn't fixed, they kept saying it was nothing and don't worry about it. Meanwhile we are renting cars for our road trips because my husband is almost 80 years old and we are not about to get out in the middle of nowhere with a car that may breakdown. We contacted a lawyer at 32,000 miles and she was willing to take the case. We decided to give them one more chance to make it right, the assistant manager said they would take care of us so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. We never saw the assistant manager again. They said there were no Sportages available so we found a Niro on their website for 24,900 and they said that wasn't the price because we wouldn't be eligible for the discounts. They came back with a trade in for our Sportage which was ridiculous because other than the engine light it was in perfect condition. By the time they got done with all the "extra charges" we were at 6000 more than it should have been. If they say they'll take care of you....RUN!!! read more

We went to Horne Kia to look at the new Kia Telluride. We told the friendly saleswoman that we weren't going to buy today, but looking in the next 6 months, and wanted to see the car. She said she'd loved to show it to us, but that we couldn't take a test drive in it, since "Who wants to buy a new car with 1000 miles on it?" We agreed and said that was fine. She showed us the car, and we were impressed. Our looking over it, though, was rushed, as another salesman wanted the keys to take someone else on a test drive. I told her thanks for her time, and inquired, "I thought we couldn't take a test drive?" She stated she thought that was true, and aplogized. This left a bad taste in our mouths regarding Horne Kia. It made us feel like second class customers. We're still very interested in the Telluride, but I will be taking my money elsewhere. Even if we have to drive farther in the Valley. read more

Dealership has cars come in with a manufacturer add on for Mats as noted on the window sticker.. In addition one of the dealership add ons are "Floor Mats". After the car was prepped after buying I inquired with managment where the extra set of floor Mats were. I was told that they had to remove the ones the dealership adds in to make the deal work. They pulled this shit after we already paid for the car.. Long story short, I dont think they really add any Mats after the cars arrive. I think they just claim the mats the manufacturer send with their car were some sort of dealer ad in. Total slimeball move. P.s. Matt the assistant manager was quiet unpleasant. They double check with you either via phone or email if they think something is wrong with the order. I ordered on Friday, and it arrived Monday... and I didn't pay for express shipping!! After hearing that Horne Kia is the best in ARIZONA, many times, salesperson tried convincing us the Rio and Forte are shorter than Kia Soul. Um, look at the specs from your product website. Guy had no idea what he was talking about. Then we asked for a price on a Soul. Salesperson tried hiding the $3000 premium over MSRP by putting it in base price and telling me they weren't charging me one. They also had about 3K more in dealer add ins than Tempe Kia for the same vehicle.. UPDATE: attempted twice to contact Mr. Bauman as requested, and never heard from him. I did, however, get a series of texts from the salesman when cars came in and he was a bit obnoxious, insisting he knew what all other dealers priced and insinuating I was being disingenuous about getting a lower offer elsewhere. I do have photos of both quotes if Mr. Bauman had ever called that I'd happily share. We are looking to make a purchase on a vehicle in the next month...at this rate Horne would have to jump through hoops to change my first impression and decision to go elsewhere. read more

When you go in there consider that the price online is not the price. There are dealer installed options which you cannot refuse. They will add service contracts and who know what else. They listed a 2024 Kia Telluride, a very popular model, for a great price ($2000 below MSRP) online and no mention of "dealer fees" but when I went there to work out a deal they told me they would be charging $3600 in fees, non-negotiable! Also, on their website, they had a trade-in calculator that gave me a value of $25,000 for my vehicle (well below the retail value but in line with Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book) but at the dealer they offered me $20,000. If you get your car serviced at Horne Kia, make sure they give you all the pricing and what the costs out the door will be. I want everyone to know and realize that this dealer not only charges $170.00 an hour for their mechanics to work on your car, but they also add another 10% on the total of their service charges from $2.50 minimum but not to exceed $39. Not only do they not tell you about this charge but this is so they can restock their shop. So I guess the $170.00 per hour is just not enough to cover the mechanics hourly pay and shop incidentals, they need an additional 10% to resupply their shop miscellaneous supplies. Ladies, if you are looking for a dealership where you will be treated with respect, keep looking. If I had only met with Haidar, this dealership would have a full 5 stars. He was lovely, respectable and personable. I would work with him again happily. However his sales manager... nope. My husband and I spoke with him for a bit, and not once did he look me in the eye or acknowledge my presence. He only spoke to my husband, and although I stood less than 3 feet from him, I was invisible. It was just the regular run of the mill chauvinistic toxic masculinity you see often from sales reps, but a bit more obvious and misogynistic than usual. So Kia- as a word of advice, teach your reps to at least acknowledge everyone in the party when they begin talking numbers. I went to get a Kia Optima switchblade replacement fob on Saturday. I had to call an Uber to the dealership which, at the time, was no big deal. It took about 2 hours at the dealership and cost $350 for the whole process. When I finally Ubered back to my vehicle (costing me around $80 total in Ubers) the key didn't work! I called back and told them they had somehow managed to mess up the key cutting and they stated that I would have needed to bring the car back anyways - which was not true. They said it was a programming error, but the physical key was cut incorrectly. I hired a locksmith the following day who cut the key correctly, programmed it, and charged me $100 less. The key he gave me, which worked, looked nothing like the cuts on what the dealer gave me. I went back to the dealer for a refund and it took them an additional hour to inform me that they can in fact give me a refund. No apologies for my wasted time or money and apparently they still need to get approval from one additional source before refunding me. They said they will call me back tomorrow. Then said I had paint protection. Did some research. Any car over 5 years in age doesn't qualify for paint protection. This car was 6 years old. Lied about coverage. After all their inflated costs car was 4K more than advertised. $599 in doc fees. Went to Mini of Tucson bought the same bmw in white with 20k miles less, $203 in doc fees and put the door for $2k less than Horne Kia had their x5 listed at. Horne Kia called while I was signing my papers. No Al, I am not interested in purchasing an inflated car with shady finance manager who told me I couldn't remove any of your add ons. read more

While talking to Damien, we didn't feel like we were talking to a sales person, we felt like we were talking to a friend. He was extremely knowledgeable about the cars (like ALL of them, haha). The customer service was IMMACULATE! We ended up buying our 2022 Kia Forte, which we are extremely happy with. The dealership itself has an inviting atmosphere and everyone is always smiling. When we were ready for the finance stage of everything, Tommy had us more than covered! Damien and Tommy both made sure to address all of our questions and concerns and made our first time car buying experience an amazing one.
