This place was fantastic to stay in. I was unsure what room to book and where any of them were located, so I chose the Cedar Room. Pulling up to this place, you can already tell that it's going to have that "homey" like setup to it. We checked in a little bit later than expected (you have a 3pm to 6pm window). We walked in through the guest entrance and were greeted and toured around the common area. You get complimentary coffee, pop, cookies and other snacks in the common room kitchen area. The Cedar Room, where we were staying, was right next to the entrance where guests were coming and going every so often. I wasn't aware of that and might not select that room in the future because of the feeling that everyone can hear you that are nearby. Sleeping through the night was a little bit tough too in this room depending on the type of people above you. When people walk above you or use their bathroom, you can clearly hear it. The bed was so comfy though and the privacy shades made it so dark in the room, that we were able to fall back asleep pretty quickly. The breakfast part of this adventure, was absolutely amazing. Phil and Marci really know how to cook and prepare a mean breakfast! The two mornings that we were able to have breakfast, we had some great spreads! Day 1: -Mini blueberry, strawberry, granola, vanilla yogurt parfait -Quiche (egg, green pepper, onion, potato) -Bacon -Very soft bread with herb butter -Orange Juice Day 2: -Watermelon and kiwi fruit cup -Croissant with cherry jam -Quiche (egg, spinach) -Scalloped potatoes -Cherries -Sausage -Orange Juice Talk about a great way to start your day huh? They also had a great brew of coffee going and other k-cups available. It was hard to check out, that was for sure. It was a nice home away from home. Thank you Phil, Marci and team for the hospitality and comfort for a great weekend where we celebrated a friend's wedding!

Also front door didn't shut tight when we tried. First line security is questionable. There was also a ruckus at the restaurant kitty corner to inn. Might not have noticed door issue otherwise. Also room wouldn't let me engage deadbolt while in room. Lock malfunction?! Lastly, hubby Couldn't get temp down in room, however we were thankful we could open window and deck door to get comfortable. Suggestions-the one chair provided is really worn. A small desk workspace or side table. Some additional art on walls, one piece leaves place feeling sterile. Robes esp since microwave is in hall. Loved the entry table, stunning piece!! Would love to see a couple of comfortable chairs in front of fireplace downstairs. Also, you can hear everything thru the walls. Keep in mind if it's an adult getaway ;) Also no vouchers for coffee shop or wine tasting room as yelp add stated. Gym is separate business and additional $10 per person, per day.

First, the room: The Bear Den was a cozy, clean, and comforting piece of up north. The room is decorated with tasteful log and bear decor and the bathroom has a beautiful stone shower. This room is offset from the main bed and breakfast house, so you have to walk outside to get to it and have privacy from the rest of the bed and breakfast. There is a spot to park your car right next to your room and you are located right behind the wine tasting room. The outdoor hot tub (yes, you read that right!!) is right outside the Bear Den door. We visited during the fall, so this was a great time to enjoy the hot tub overlooking the fall colors! Second, a bit on the service: it was excellent! When you arrive, you are met by the couple who manages the B&B. They are very friendly and accommodating! They offer made-to-order breakfast each morning. You fill out a paper the night before with your order (lots of options!) and what time you would like it ready. Then you simply arrive to the main house dining area at that time, and your food is promptly brought out to you! They have coffee and juices and water at your disposal. And just off the dining area is a large wrap-around deck, which would be perfect for summer weather! Also within the main B&B area are various other rooms, a library at your disposal, and an indoor hot tub, sauna, and exercise equipment (bike and free weights). To add an extra perk onto this already fantastic stay, the B&B is also home to a vineyard, so included in our stay was a complimentary wine tasting of the wines made from that vineyard. This was an absolutely amazing stay made great by the room, the accommodations, the location, the crisp fall air, and the wonderful service! Definitely would go back and recommend to anyone!!!

When we arrived in the evening, the inside fireplace and outside fire pit were both burning. Sitting by the fire outside was so peaceful, keeping warm and looking at the stars while enjoying complimentary beverages- they always have tables in the lobby stocked with water, iced tea, coffee, and hot water for tea or cocoa. Our room was nice, nothing crazy luxurious but spacious and well appointed. The king bed was comfy and the shower pressure was better than at home! My dog loved the little patio space looking out onto the back lawn. I saw reviews talking up the breakfast- it was fine, good to great if you managed your expectations. There were 2 hot food options and the rest was a regular continental breakfast spread, albeit lots of options. Like one morning they had a French toast bake and scrambled eggs. But it's not a made to order diner or omlette bar or something. Still good and plenty filling for us so I'm not casting this as a negative at all. The grounds are nice as well but the nature trail was a bit muddy- but it was early May after some rain! We'd love to come back, as a weekend wasn't enough time to explore all the places nearby that we wanted. Also shout out to the staff who found my sleeping eye mask in the room after we checked out and called me to let me know (and offered to hold it or mail it!)

**Absolutely Horrible Experience -- Beware of the "Dog-Friendly" Claim**…read more This hotel is an absolute joke. I booked this hotel **MONTHS in advance** specifically because I needed a dog-friendly place for myself, my children, and out-of-state guests to stay the night after my wedding. I did my research beforehand and chose this property because it **advertises itself as dog-friendly**. What a joke. My check-in time was **almost 7 PM**. The entire day was already gone, and I was simply arriving for the night after my wedding. I had my 4-pound dog with me, and after spending the day celebrating my wedding, I expected to check into the room I had booked months ago and go to bed. Instead, I informed the front desk that I had my dog with me and was told that if I brought my dog into the room, the **police would be called**. Yes. You read that correctly. At nearly **7 PM**, after I had already spent the entire day elsewhere, I was being threatened with police involvement over a **4-pound dog** at a hotel that advertises itself as dog-friendly. Apparently, according to management, you have to somehow know that you need to call in advance and make a "special reservation" for a dog-friendly room. **That requirement is not clearly disclosed in the way this hotel advertises its pet policy.** In fact, their own website states that if you stay in a non-dog-friendly room with a dog, you can simply pay a **$50 fee**. So which is it? If there is a separate reservation process for "dog-friendly" rooms, then perhaps the hotel should make that crystal clear **before taking someone's reservation and their money**. The entire situation was handled horribly, and the manager and front desk staff were unbelievably rude, condescending, and completely unwilling to find a reasonable solution. There was no attempt to work with me. No reasonable conversation. Just threats and attitude. And the irony is almost laughable: **there were multiple dogs staying at the hotel.** Meanwhile, I'm being threatened with the police over a 4-pound dog after I had just gotten off a boat from a marina **three miles down the road**. And let's talk about the hotel itself. The carpet looks like it is **older than I am**. It is not charming, quaint, or historic -- it is simply old, dingy, and repulsive. Frankly, given the condition of the property, the outrage over my tiny dog was almost comical. This was supposed to be a simple overnight stay after my wedding. I had booked months ahead of time, arrived at nearly 7 PM when the day was already over, and simply wanted to go to my room for the night. Instead, management turned it into an unnecessarily hostile and completely ridiculous experience. **I would strongly recommend that nobody waste their money staying here.** There are plenty of hotels that are actually welcoming to their guests and honest about their policies. This place is neither. The way management handled this situation was completely unacceptable. **I would never give this hotel or its management another dollar of my money, and I strongly suggest you don't either.**
